horrible experience even with an appointment the wait time is horrible after a 4 hrr wait he literally spent less than two minutes with my dad. We had to change doctors. This went on for months. What a disgrace as a medical doctor. Gabroy was the best Dr. I've ever been fortunate to get 5 years with before he retired. There isn't a negative thing I could even think of regarding Gabroy. Now the office is called Forte Family Practice and I see Beverly Straiss-Dipaolo, A.P.N-B.C. and she is a smart & nice person, sometimes she may come across a little direct. The worst doctor's office experience. Every visit is a infuriating. Been here a year. Gabroy left. It's Forte Family Practice now and it's just gotten worse. I walked out after waiting two hours in the waiting room once. They make you come in if you want a refill on any prescription (not just controlled). Completely unhelpful, and make everything a total inconvenience. During the heart of COVID lockdown they made me come in just so I could ask for a refill on blood pressure medication which I've been on for years. They never answer calls from the pharmacy. Had to call three times to get anyone to even tell me I had to come in. I feel like I have to fill out the same paperwork every time I come in. Claim that they don't have access to your records. I'm writing this as I continue to wait (going an an hour) for another simple prescription refill. This is my last visit to this shit show. read more

They tell you to be there at 11 & you end up getting seen at 1:30. Has happened to me numerous times and other people I have asked experienced the same thing. Your best bet is to come 2 hours after your scheduled appointment. read more

Dr. Gabroy is an awesome doctor!!! I'm 27 years old & I've been his patient since I was about 17. So he's been with me through all of my adult life. He is a very genuine person who truly cares about his patients. He always takes the time to listen to all my health concerns & asks me lots of questions about them. I never feel rushed. Its great to know your doctor is actually listening to you not just waiting for key words & regurgitating some cookie cutter response or treatment. Another great thing about Dr. Gabroy is if you need treatment for something he doesn't just say do this & it's the only option. If you're concerned about something treatment wise & let him know he takes your concerns into consideration & if there are other options he'll tell you about them. I have never had a problem with Dr. Gabroy or his nurses who are all wonderful, but just to be fair I have had some issues with his office staff over the years. They are not always on top of their work & seem unorganized at times & can be rude if you ask about why something went wrong. Also in the past the wait as been a long. It seems like he has worked very hard to correct those issues over the past few months though. Especially the wait. I haven't had to wait long at for my last few appointments. read more

He's the best! Always takes time to really listen to you. He has always been spot on with my symptoms . I don't believe the doctor retired willingly. It looked more like a hostel take over. I had an appointment the day the changes were being made and it wasn't a pretty sight. I will be looking for a new doctor soon. I find the new staff to be condescending and I don't appreciate that. Dr gabroy staff were very caring. I need a simple refill on my prescription and they will not simply call it in to the pharmacy with everything going on with the virus you would think they could make an exception since I e been on the same meds for 12 years. No common sense. I asked the receptionist if people with the virus have been coming in and she stated " not many" . Omg really, well I think just 1 person would be to many. Like I said they have no common sense. I could go on an on regarding my January appointment but I'm getting myself all worked up over dealing with ignorant people. I advised my doctor who I see each and every month for the last 15+ years, Dr. James Gabroy that I was going to do this and have any/all findings forwarded to him. After not receiving my usual courtesy appointment reminder call, I called to confirm. I was put on hold for quite some time and then politely advised that "The Doctor no longer wishes to care for me and has released not only me from his care, but my entire family! My advise to you, if you're not sick, going to Dr, Gabroy is a fantastic idea! Just be prepared to sit in the waiting area for 3+ hours for your appointments and pray that you don't get sick enough that you might need a second opinion. Cause if you do go for a second opinion, you and your family will be thrown out on your asses!!! read more

I had contracted Lyme disease from hiking. I as sick for quite a while and had seen many different kinds of dr. No one could figure out what was wrong. I meet Dr Gabroy. Not only is Dr. Gabroy a great man but he takes time out of his schedule to talk with you. The staff is excellent. Always friendly and caring. They do everything in their power to make sure you leave feeling special and better about yourself. This might sound funny but I look at them as my friends and family. God bless every thing they do. Absolutely disgusted with my experience with this Dr.!! When I had told Dr. GABROY that I had gone to see another Dr., Simply to get another perspective on my medical issues. He seemed to understand my reasonings and didn't seem to be bothered by this. Until I'd made usual appt with him before leaving his office that same day I'd told him of me visiting another dr., well when I called to be sure my appt was still in order (because like you, they never did their reminder call), that is when the lady on the phone told me that Dr. Gabroy has decided that he can no longer be your physician for reasons she refused to tell me, except she did throw this out at me, when I began to get upset. She said, Dr. Gabroy refuses to see you ever again and he had in fact RED FLAGGED you from being able to get any Dr. to see you. It tool me over a year before I was able to clear up my medical records with the false red flag that Dr. Gabroy himself did to me. Still to this day I can not reach him to ask him why he would've done this to me, it was a very difficult and embarrassing time for me after Dr. Gabroy shut me out as his patient (after 2 yrs of seeing him religiously) & most of all it caused me alot of suffering when he falsely red flagged my files ; therefore couldn't seek help from any Dr. for quite some time. I'd advice anyone considering him as your physician to please keep looking, there are so many great physicians in our town who'd never do what Dr. Gabroy did to me. read more

First the good part: Dr. Gabroy is an excellent diagnostician: he is rather brusque in his manner, but he listens and is careful and thorough. I have confidence in his abilities as a physician, and in his care. Bad part: this office administration has been chaotic and in turmoil for years. After waits of an hour to two hours (!) Dr. Gabroy FINALLY lessened his patient load. Now the waits are "only" 30-45 minutes. However: the phone situation is a total disaster! Many times you will call during POSTED "phone hours", only to find that they have switched over to the answering service. This has happened not once or twice, but many times. And it is not during their posted lunch hour break. When the answering service has tried to help me by calling on their "back line", that too has been turned off. And the answering service has no explanation for this. What in the world is the matter with this office? Weeks ago it was explained to me that they have installed a new phone system, and that they are having problems with it. That was weeks ago, as I stated. No imprrovement as of today. Dr. Gabroy is a good physician, but that does not help if you cannot reach him.......I have no explanation as to why, after so many years, it seems to be impossible for the staff to become competent and caring. There are a couple of very nice folks who work there, but they are overwhelmed by the mediocrity of most of the administrative staff. If this doctor had a decent staff, I would give him five stars! read more

Dr Gabroy is amazing.. He's compassionate, caring and listens to his patients. I've seen him twice now and both times its been a wonderful experience. He's extremely knowledgeable of my disease. I hardly know him and I trust him already with my life. For two years ive went through 5 Drs, finally I got into the BEST IN TOWN... I recommend him to anyone and everyone.. And FYI you may wait to see him an extra few mins but that's because he makes sure every patient is seen and heard in every appt. Absolutely the best Dr in town.. Listens, gives amazing advice, and I can't think of anything bad to say. I Did wait 45 past my appt. to see him but that's how every office is. Tried to make an appointment here as a new patient. Among the several reasons I needed to go was that I am diabetic and had maintenance prescriptions I needed to refill. I also take Ambien to help me sleep. I mentioned that and the very rude receptionist told me the doctor does not see people looking strictly for controlled substances! I'm a diabetic, not a junkie!! 66 years old and kicked to the curb by a snotty receptionist. Dr. Gabroy is a wonderful, compassionate, caring doctor. I have been going to him for almost two decades, since I was a in Jr. High, and so has the rest of my family. He is the epitome of an ethical and honest practitioner whom you can trust your life with. Dr. Gabroy truly cares about his patients and giving them the best care possible. Sadly there are many quacks out there nowadays, I wish more had a fraction of the integrity as Dr. Gabroy. He's seen me and my family through many trials and tribulations of health, and has always offered an exceptional level of care and did it with kindness and humanity.
