I have been a long-time customer at the Whittier LensCrafters and have always chosen to support my local store. Unfortunately, this recent experience was beyond disappointing, and I will not be returning. I ordered a high-end pair of eyeglasses and paid top dollar, with the understanding they would be ready within 10 days. Nearly a month went by with no communication. I never received a courtesy call to let me know they were ready. I finally decided to go into the store myself, only to find out they had been there. When the front desk associate brought out my glasses, there was no effort to clean them or even ask me to try them on to ensure proper fit. After spending a significant amount of money, I expected a much higher level of service and professionalism. Instead, the experience felt rushed and impersonal -- like buying over-the-counter glasses at a drugstore. Amazing service from the young women working the front desk. I asked for more help in picking my first pair of glasses as I need a wider frame, and they brought me various styles and used a heat machine to widen frames for the perfect fit! Customers have to learn to ask for help as these associates are very busy processing insurance and registering new appointments, all while patients are shopping. Dr. Minh was great! read more

I have been coming to this location for more than 10 years. It has gone downhill when it comes to customer service. I made an appointment and had to wait for at least 20 minutes to even be acknowledged and then another 5-10 minutes to be seen. The Doctor was amazing and thorough. I don't have any issues with that experience. After the exam, the customer service has gone downhill tremendously. In the past, they would give you a container with 3 slots to place your choice of glasses frames to try. They then would allow you to try them and take pictures of 2 so you could see how they looked on your face. Now they just say go ahead and look for frames and you have to carry them all. They no longer take pictures so you can see how they look. The person helping you is friendly enough but does not go above and beyond as they had in the past. I'm so disappointed. We are spending a lot of money and it would feel so much better to have an elite experience. I hope that this feedback will be taken seriously and you will work on the customer service experience with all employees for the future. read more

I've been coming here forever. Great location with plenty of parking . It's in the corner of Whittier blvd and First street. The staff are very friendly and professional. They always greet you when you come through the doors. There are plenty of choices for frames from economy to designer ( Burberry, Tiffany, Prada , Giorgio Armani, Ray-Ban , Dolce & Gabana , Oakley, Polo, Michael Kors, Versace, Tori Burch...) You're likely to find a frame you like ! Although I don't have eye coverage on my health insurance, they accept AAA , which gives a significant discount which is 50% off lens . Additionally. they do run periodic specials that offer extra discounts too. ( Now until 9/15/23- AAA is offering 30% off frames & 50% off lens!) Just lucky we can in today for an exam and eyeglasses ! ( btw, I did call in yesterday to make an eye appointment.) If your prescription is straight forward. They usually have your glasses ready the same day ! ( As long as you come in the morning... ) Otherwise , they call you to tell you your frames are ready in a reasonable time. read more

Customer service is horrible the girl at the front desk literally was sarcastic treats you like you're an idiot and isn't helpful at all. When I got there she stated that I didn't have eye insurance when I know I do since I get it taken out of my pay check weekly. Had to beg her to check again and that's when she found it. It's sad because the doctor Is really nice. My total was over 1k for 3 glasses but didn't buy anything because of the Sales reps attitude. I didn't mind the price because I know glasses are expensive but I won't give them a dime of my Money because of how she treated us. My Boyfriend is blind in his right eye and She tried to upsale him on some lens. Wow what sales tactic is this. Then got really aggressive when I asked questions on why would I need to buy upgraded lens for an eye he is blind in. That's why they probably have 3 stars makes sense. I had an eye exam here about 2 months ago. Since I'm a long time customer, I was surprised to hear they had no record of me or my past visits. We had to start from scratch and could not compare past eye history. Sure, no big deal. Everything went fine, the staff were friendly, and the optician was great. I left my glasses to get the lens updated with the new prescription. I was told it would take about a week. A few days later I got a call from the front office stating I did not pay. I explained I did pay for the exam and new lenses the day of the visit. I was asked to find my receipt at home and prove i paid. I was called back an hour later letting me know they had attached my name to someone else's record and it was all cleared up. I called a few times to check on the status of my glasses over the next 2 months. I was told the lenses were on back order and would get a text when they were done. I was told several times they arrived and was waiting for a tech. 2 months of my glasses being held hostage, and I could not see, I got frustrated and called yesterday. The staff told me the lenses arrived that day and i would get a text when they were done. Nope, not going through that again. I picked up my untouched glasses and and got a refund for the lenses. What a horrible experience from start to finish. I used to love this place but the stress and poor management is not worth the hefty price tag. Time to find a new eye doctor. read more

Horrible they are lazy and unhelpful. they feel like scammers i have insurance that covers 100 percent, and they didn't take my full insurance and did not proceed to tell me this tell i questioned them why i owed over 1000 dollars. then when i asked them to cancel this tehy did not drop my vsp so i could use somewhere else. my work said they just need to call us and tell us they dropped it and they refused to. Every time I come in here there's always the rude girl at the front with the hair ruining my day with the way she talks to you like you're beneath her. Her blonde minion is equally worse (general manager). They know nothing about glasses or how to run a business. I make the mistake coming in on Mondays when Virginia and Brin are not in. They have never messed up my glasses and have been able to tell me about my coverage without attitude or making me feel stupid for asking. I would always ask for Brin or Virginia and never come in on a Monday or when they are not there. It be a waste of your time and patience. My glasses broke. Specifically, the screws came out of the arm piece. I've been driving around with them in my car and decided to take them to Lens Crafter on a Saturday afternoon. They are open until 5 on Saturdays. I walked in and she said it would be about an hour and it would be free to fix. Bought a pair of Prada sunglasses from Lens Crafters a couple years back and my prescription lenses have been popping out of the frame. I brought them in to get them repaired and I had the pleasure of arriving while Lakshmi was working. I gave her my glasses to be repaired and she was very efficient and even changed out my nose pads! She did all of this in less than 10 minutes. She is amazing at what she does. Just wanted to say how thankful I am, I happend to break my glasses at work and was looking around to see if anyone can fix them/ I need them for work and I am really blind. I called in and the person that picked up the phone was very kind and polite, asked me to come in before 3:45pmso they could check them out.. I took my daughter to get an eye exam and glasses and when we received her glasses 2 weeks later there were 2 small circles and an id number etched into each of the lenses. I asked the girl working the front if it was normal and I was told, "yes, it's how their manufacturer marks their lenses". I told her having very obvious etching in the center and both sides of the lenses is completely ridiculous and asked why they don't tell customers their manufacture does that. No one can have that on the lenses and be able to function, you might as well sell lenses that are scratched up. I would not recommend this place to anyone needing modern lifestyle lenses. read more

This is review purely on lenscrafters not the optometrist which operate separately. Having gone to the lens crafters at Glendale for many years, they are not equal. It takes 2-3 weeks to get my glasses VS. Same day at the Glendale lens crafters. I specifically asked for an appt for contact lenses, and they made me do another appointment for my teen to get a "training". They will put you on hold and then call you back hours later. And the computers and payment scanners never seem to be working so I get asked the same questions. And inventory of glasses is not great, 1st time that I couldn't find frames I was excited about. read more

Exam and picking the glasses done instead an hour and half. Great selection of glasses but honestly most of them are made in the same factory, so the difference is name and price. She sized up my situation and within 5 minutes, I was out the door with my repaired glasses...and no charge! This is my absolute go to place for glasses I would pay the money cash if I didn't have insurance. Horrible. The optomitrist screwed my eyes up. Went to another place and they found this out. I would not recommend whittier lens crafters to anyone. Come to find out the lens crafters optomitrist administered the vision test wrong. Your not suppose to sit up and scoot forward in the chair and take the vision test, you're suppose to sit back in the chair and move the machine to the patient to conduct the test. I told the optomitrist I had spinal stenosis and she made me sit up and scoot forward and my back as killing me. The treatment from the doctor was unprofessional and it hurt my back and my eyes. read more
