There is a large selection of eyeglass styles and plenty of area to walk around to try on glasses. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. There is a good guarantee for the glasses and they accept many insurance plans.

Maybe my next pair? .....

On a pursuit to find a new pair of glasses. Only one person working today on a Sunday which seems to be a theme throughout. She was busy with other customers so we browsed the shop. Nice selection of glasses. I've got my eye on a pair. Conveniently located in the Summit Sierra mall. Good prices, well organized.

I visited Lens Crafters twice on a Sunday and both times it was a great experience. I visited on May 20 to check out frames. I tried on a bunch of frames. Diana helped me pick the best for my face and budget. They placed them on hold for me. On May 27 I brought in my new prescription. Easy peasy. Diana grabbed my glasses out of the hold draw and they worked up the order based on my old glasses requirement that was on file. Eye Med went through fast so I was in and out fast. New glasses in a week due to progressive and special lens coating but its worth the wait.

Less than a week later I stopped in, was greeted by Erica who inquired my need.

Her staff is to be commended as they truly represent the doctors well. Hannah, who assisted with my most recent visit, listened and thought about her responses before she gave them. She explained the different exams that were going to occur and she gave me immediate results, which I appreciated. It turns out I can still see. Dr. Brewer arrived in the room with a burst of energy. She asked about how I was doing, cared about how I was doing, and then we began their exam. Like Hannah, Dr. Brewer told me what was happening. The whole time was patient as I asked silly questions and I came away with the opinion that she really did care. So, I guess you could go to the mall. But I don't think you'd get the quality care you get here.

I do remember the last full evaluation was done at the UC Berkeley Optometry clinic and that it was a long appointment. I've carried vision insurance for years, of which Gayle has used. But for some reason I didn't place this kind of health-related care at the same level as dental or medical. A high school friend, who is also a retired optometrist, convinced me to go, if only to confirm that I didn't have any glaucoma, macular degeneration, or cataract issues. Gayle has used Valley Care and has been very happy with Dr. Brewer. So to push me along, she made that appointment for me. The only "bad" news from the appointment was that my dependence on reading glasses wasn't really enough and that I needed progressives. The good news is that my vision didn't need that much adjustment and my eye health was A-OK. What a relief! The professionals at Valley Eyecare know their business well, and I felt that I was in good hands. That included Dr. Brewer's friendly and efficient manner, and the staff that supported her work. Later on, Gayle and I stopped by to pick up the glasses we picked out, that were largely covered by insurance. The fittings went well, and all I have to do know is get used to the progressives. Maybe I'll add some prescription computer glasses later, to compliment my screen time.

We were scheduled within two weeks which was awesome. We got to meet with Dr. Macco, who was really friendly and along with her staff. They were diligent with scanning in our records from the previous doctor, doing all the routine eye exams, and helping us pick out eye glasses. They have more modern equipment than our last doctor, which is convenient so I don't have to go to a specialist too. They are located in the Bicycle shopping center, tucked in the back left corner. Their office has been open for a little over a year so they have a limited style selection of eye glasses. But it's a nice welcoming location with Lina and Vanessa to help as soon as you walk in. My husband was able to see Dr. Huntting for his annual check up and was also impressed with the modern technology they offered to do their exams with. When I've returned to their office to pick up or order another set of glasses, their staff already remembered who my daughter and I were. Amazing customer service!
