Fire the Office manager. My wife went to 20/20 months ago for an appointment. The following are In her words....  I picked out 3 pairs of frames for prescription glasses.  Total cost was $1600. One pair of frames was about $1000. One employee that checks your eye pressure,  a Filipino man talked me into trying transition glasses that turn dark when out in the sun. I picked up my glasses & they were just regular sun glasses. If I wanted another pair of sun glasses,  I would have ordered another set of lens that were Rose tint. The only sun glasses I wear, & the only type I have done at 20/20. I had called, they said they would take care of this mistake.    Today,  April 29, 2025. I brought my friend in for her appt., & I was talking to the rude Filipino employee at this office, as I told him about the mistake I called about. He asked me what I thought transition glasses meant.  As I was saying it, he started laughing at me saying that these are not transition glasses. I said right, they're suppose to be. Treating me like I was a fool in front of an office full of patients. He continued to laugh, would not let me get a word in. The doctor came out,  & she  said maybe they're progressives.  She could have actually  stopped,, talked find out what was going on.  why her employee was treating me like garbage. I was embarrassed badly, treated like a fool. I will not go back as a patient. I spent $1000 for useless prescription glasses. They will only replace lens with rose tint. The guy said no to putting in TRANSITION lens. RE: My wife is no fool. Former fire fighter with a Captain title, former Nurse, (not a CNA), at Renown, retired, She knows the difference between tint, rose  tint, and transition lens. She would never get regular tint over rose tint unless it was transition.  All her sun glasses are and always have been rose tint.. She was talked into transition glasses knowing that when in sunlight, they would turn into regular tint since transition lens does not come in rose tint. That employee lied. Straight up liars to cover themselves. When my wife picked up her glasses, she got them and left. Did not have time to sit there and wait to see if they fit right. My wife's friend was standing there the whole time watching this guy laugh at her  trying to read her own paperwork without glasses, struggling to see when this all first started. Do not LIE !!! My wife was crying off and on for hours when I came home early for the appts. we both had in South Reno. It took a lot to get herself together just to go into the doctors. You don't cry for several hours if nothing like this happened at all. She does not know his name, she thought he might be Filipino.  The only way to describe the person not knowing his name. Don't make it sound racist. That's pathetic too.  I highly advise not you avoid this doctor's office RE: My wife just seen your comment and photo. It was YOU that did that and said all that garbage. This office treats you like family. The staff know me by name, Dr. Chan is professional, does a through exam and tells you like it is. No BS. Everyone is kind and helpful. Dr Chan gives an excellent exam and I would like to give more stars but due to my interaction with Sy I will not. My negative experience was validated by other customer reviews. For an office manager to publicly address a customer as a "liar" on social media is extremely unprofessional and reflects on the business negatively. All negative reviews are met with attacks rather than resolutions, the office manager never offers to move the conversation off line in order to focus on resolving the issue, by offering to do so would demonstrate a true commitment to customer satisfaction, unfortunately something Sy seems to lack. I will not return to this establishment as long as he is the manager. read more

I was there on April 29th with someone waiting. I heard that conversation. That guy at the counter, (after reading the reviews and complaints by multiple people), is the manager, was despicable. I can definitely say he is lying on the reply comments. I'm just glad I'm not a patient at 20/20. That manager was pathetic treating that lady with a cane so badly. This place was way above average. My eye exam came in the form of 4 steps. MI was Blessed to not have a co- pay which I couldn't afford. The glasses were 100% improvement and the fact that I had a week wait before and after the initial appointment. It felt like this establishment was definitely part if the body of Christ. Best in the business. I have a very difficult prescription and the found a very good solution that has allowed me to function perfectly. Sy helped me find the right frames and custom fit them for me. They were very busy but took the time to reschedule some things to fit me in a week sooner. I will be forever grateful for all they did. Whoever does their billing is top notch. I had been to 29-29 twice in the two months prior to this appt. and had the same procedure scheduled this time. I told him I did not want to do it a 3rd. time and he said I had to...guess what, I am the paying customer and can do whatever I want. The owner should not be in his own employee - at least not customer service. I went in primarily to get a prescription for work glasses, and based on the high reviews and a good past experience when I was like 12 I had some high hopes. The Dr seemed nice enough, although she discouraged me from getting contacts from them. (Not really important to the review would have given 4 stars after that) I asked for my prescription on the way out and they gave me a slip of paper. Later when I went to pick up my glasses I let them know the prescription didn't have all the information I needed. The lady went to get, apparently the owner and when I showed the form I needed to fill out he refused to give me the information I needed, which apparently was the measurement between my eyes and insisted that I could get it myself with a ruler looking into a mirror. I'm sure they have a $3000 machine just to measure this but argued with me that they don't give it out so they won't be liable if it's wrong. You guys aren't even making the glasses, How would you liable? Anyways, He finally gave it to me after arguing for 5 minutes. The only reason I went to this place and the reason I'm not going back. Dr. Chan and the staff are first rate. I was prescribed what I believe is Latanoprost Ophthalmic to lower the pressure on my left eye. Within days of beginning these drops before bedtime, I started noticing an inordinate amount of floaters, which in turn began to block my vision. I live out of the area, so the next time I came to Sparks, I stopped by and passed it along that since starting the drops in my left eye, that my vision had degraded with all the floaters in my vision. I didn't see Dr. Chan but this one fellow behind the counter told me something to the effect that I can't stop using the drops. I tried to explain that my vision is now worse than before I started these drops. To be fair, almost any medicine can probably have side effects, I get it. What I don't want to do is to do more harm, I need these eyes. Dr. Chan did call me back the next day and advised me that she was going to contact another eye care professional to pursue this problem. I told her that this fellow behind the counter was rude to me. I got the impression that he was not interested at all in what I was trying to convey to him. I was about half shocked at the tone of his voice, condescending would probably be a good descriptor word. Until yesterday, everyone in this office has gone out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I looked forward to coming to see Dr. Chan and her staff. I'm not certain if the guy that's all hat and no cattle is the owner or not, but he apparently does not have to answer to anyone. As a matter of fact he called me today and basically 86'ed me from ever coming back into the office again for my telling Dr. Chan of my bad experience with him. He must be higher up the food chain than Dr. Chan. I wish Dr. Chan and her staff my very best, but this fellow which I'm reading that other people are commenting on has a problem of some sort. I'm glad that it wasn't just me that had problems with him, because I was getting along pretty well with the other hard working and friendly staff at this business. I do have to say that if true capitalism were to limit the influx of new customers because of this flippant team member or business owner, some reorganizing of this business model would be made in short order. I cannot stress too much how friendly and helpful that everyone, including Dr. Chan was to me. I think this where that old saying about one bad apple would refer to. read more

Pro's: Open Saturday! Con's: Not one Go back?: I will be switching to Dr. Chan for my eye care going forward. More... I woke up on a Saturday morning with an eye infection. I used Yelp to find someone open who could see me. I called, they were full, but said they would work me in. I was directed to go online and print their new patient forms to save time. This issue with my eye has happened to me 2 previous times in my life. It was treated but never diagnosed. Dr. Chan knew exactly what it was and treated the situation accordingly. Treated AND ANSWERS! Yayy! While I was waiting to be seen, I checked out their inventory of frames. I saw really fun styles and colors I would be interested in when it is time to re-up my prescription. The office staff was very friendly and genuinely caring. I will be back in hopes that Dr. Chan can help me with a solution to improve my vision that I have not as yet been able to find. read more

Sy's response to my review proves my point. What professional business owner would say his customer lied and committed fraud which is entirely untrue. To set the record straight, I did file a dispute with the credit card company against Sy and Dr. Chan for refusing (by not offering) to recheck and/or have our eyeglasses remade. Furthermore, we did not yell or scream at the staff. It was Sy who raised his voice in a rude manner at my wife. I responded that he was the rude one and I left. My wife continued to try to explain to Dr. Chan but she just walked my wife out of the office telling her that if the glasses were wrong find another Optometrist. She then closed the door on my wife. Hence the dispute I filed with my credit card company. Our mistake was signing the order that stated that we "may not get a refund". read more

I've tried other businesses and none of them have given me the optical care that I've received here. 2nd or 3rd year going here, along with my kids. Customer service and communication skills are also great! The lab made a mistake when making my pair of glasses but 20/20 made sure to accommodate me and contact me as soon as they receive the new pair. 10 out of 10 recommend coming here. Every time I come here I always feel welcomed and Sai he is a nice guy. Wait time is very quick and easy. They are awesome. Dr. Chan and her staff are friendly and I would definitely recommend 20/20 to anyone who is in need of a good eye care doctor. There is plenty of parking and easy to get in and out off. The location is convenient and it is easy to spot this place from the road. Appointments makes for a quick in and out experience. They are alway professional about what they do and do their jobs well here. You can't ask for more than that. They have a good selection on prescription glasses and sunglasses. You can also order contacts here too. They will call you when your order arrives. I have been going to this place for a few years now and they have never messed up an order for me. They also called me to see if I wanted to go into a person who cancelled for an appointment but I couldn't cause I was working. I always feel like they try to take care of me. Sad to say that I am writing this negative review. As a family we have all had great experiences here. The higher level of customer service was always wonderful, the optometrist was very informative and most of the staff were very attentive and welcoming. It was only until we needed to discuss a fee that we had a very unprofessional experience. The attendant that was in charge of our appointment told us about a fee that we had to pay and I had some questions about the reasoning behind it. I asked if this fee could be waived because we were unaware of it, prior to the appointment and we did not approve the extra services provided nor were we informed the services were going to be charged out of pocket. She understood the situation and agreed it was unfair but she needed to talk to her supervisor to see what she could do. This is where the unprofessional situation took place. The supervisor (I do not know his name because he did not introduce himself) came over in a predisposed aggressive attitude. He began to explain the reasoning behind this unknown fee. I still had some questions and while trying to continue this conversation with him he kept raising his hands to stop me from talking in a very rude manner. When I asked him why he was yelling and why he was so defensive, his response (aggressively raising his voice at this point) was, "I'm not defensive! But if you let me finish..." At this point I felt uncomfortable communicating with him and wanted to finish this interaction so I told him that I was done speaking to him and I wanted to speak to someone else. He walked away and did not call over anyone else to assist us. I thought the altercation was over so I made a personal comment to my sister, which was "oh my gosh, that was so unprofessional." He walks back to the desk and yells "what was unprofessional? Who is being unprofessional?" I ignored him because I didn't want to escalate the situation. I have never been so shocked and embarrassed in a place of business. It seems clear that he has acted in that manner before because none of the other many staff members that were around us stopped him or apologized, even though they knew his actions were exaggerated and wrong. His attitude was very uncalled for. It is a shame that after many years of being a patient of 20/20 vision we will no longer go back, nor refer anyone, thanks to this hostile interaction. I hope this gets the attention of someone who is in charge, the optometrist or helps future patients become aware of this terrible customer service that was provided. read more

Had a great experience seeing Dr. Chan and her staff for the first time. Due to a change in insurance, I had to find a new doctor, so I chose 20/20 Vision LLC Optometry because it is really close to my home. I got in right away and the staff was very nice and professional. Dr. Chan was extremely professional, polite, friendly and took her time with me. I just lost a small claims case to 20 / 20 Vision LLC. I am advising every person who goes to them NEVER, NEVER, NEVER sign anything. The Judge ruled that he does not hear cases on Deceptive Trade Practices; Specifically NRS 598.0915, Deceptive Trade Practices. "A person engages in a deceptive trade practice if, in the course of his or her business ... 15. Knowingly makes any other representation in a transaction..." I was sold expensive progressive glasses and was told several times that if I could not get used to them, I could return them, NO COST. BUT, I signed the order form which said, NO REFUNDS. I tried to return the progressives glasses but they said NO REFUNDS. They lied about being able to return the glasses which was fraud in my opinion. Any contract based on fraud should be invalid. I had no witnesses. No one goes to the optometrist with a witness! They even filed false Police reports against me for Trespassing. That was a lie. I now have a Police report in my name, false or not, it is still on my record--the only police report ever filed against me. I am 76 years old today but I will be picketing them until the day I die. Watch for me around 4 PM each day. read more

The staff is very friendly and professional. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Dr. Chan. I purchased glasses and the lenses seemed distorted. I went back and the person that does the fitting informed the doctor of the issue. After she ran additional tests with the glasses on, she proceeded to tell me that it was the frames that would make the lenses sit weird. When I asked if there was something she could do she said no. She said the lenses were too thick for the frames I asked her if this was something that should have been explained when I was picking out the frames. She basically chalked it up to mismatched lenses and frames and that I'd have to just get used to them. I asked her to confirm if she expected me to get used to badly fitted lenses, she said that's all she could do. She already had my money so she could care less on the follow up. Again, the staff is very nice, however, Dr. Chan is far below standard, and even that is giving her too much credit. read more

Worst customer service experience I have ever experienced in my life. Tried to resolve an issue with some glasses I had bought and was treated so badly after several visit that I finally threw the glasses away. I couldn't see clearly and Josh refused to help me resolved the issue because he "new more than I did" because of his training. He the refused to allow me to talk directly to the doctor directly about my problems and was rude, argumentative and agitated. read more

This place was open on Saturday (not many are), called back right away (not many do) telling us what we need to bring and then offered us free trial lenses (very grateful they had them in stock!).
