I went in with my prescription for eye glasses which I was told that they could not make them the way the Dr ordered them. As I was leaving on a trip shortly and needed distance glasses to drive, I foolishly ordered what they told me they would make. I now have glasses that I can drive with, but can't see my navigation. Lately, I had the most challenging time reading small prints, like labels. I scheduled an appointment with the Eye Associates of Charleston. EAC offers innovation to the usual eye exam. The doctor explained the "effects" of my vision issues with 3-D images of my eyes. Then I step into LensCrafters to look for new sophisticated glasses. The gentleman helped me review their inventory, but Corinne offered the best advice. The lens comes with a blue light protection. I also added a transition effect with an Amber finish! Corinne took measurements to fit my eye distance and the dimensions of my face. Fancy! A few weeks later, my new friend arrived. I came here after searching online for some new glasses because the last place I'd been, my glasses were super expensive. Jennifer greeted me when I walked in and helped me with everything. she called to get my prescription for me, she went thru every detail of ordering, and I was very impressed with how she recommended sunglasses for me. she found some with the shape I liked, gave her opinion, let me try on different lenses colors and explained the difference there. I am very pleased with my experience here and I will be back for my regular visits as well. read more

I could have had a less expensive eye exam. I'm glad I didn't. I never felt like a customer here. I felt like a patient. To me that's an important distinction. I asked questions and got answers. I'm over 50 and this was my first eye exam. I'm glad I chose to do it here. EVERYONE I interacted with had great energy and positivity - ebullient even. That alone was worth what I had to spend. If you want a great experience in an environment where you feel valued as a human being I highly recommend this place. read more

I purchased a warranty for my glasses when I first got them. It's a year coverage and costs about $25. I know it covers the lenses but I think it also covers damage to the frames. Near the end of the year, I decided to take advantage it because I had what looked like air bubbles on the lenses. Well, a week after the lens replacement, more scratches were on the lenses. I called and was told to come in. I spoke with Jen, the manager on duty. During this visit, I learned that the lenses I chose can easily get scratched because of the quality. How frustrating--why sell lenses like this in the first place but whatever. She offered to replace the lenses again even though my warranty had expired. I just had to pay the $25 or so. During this visit, I made sure to purchase the lens wipes....I didn't want any further issues. Less than a week later, boom...the same issue! You can imagine how frustrated I was. I called and spoke to Joe, another manager. He offered exceptional customer service! He upgraded my lenses free of charge! I haven't had any issues thus far. read more

I am homeless and I am unemployed and disabled when I had a chance to get a job I went to LensCrafters to get contacts and a gave me an eye exam but then when I went to the register to pay didn't have the money luckily I got the job in a month later I felt obligated to pay my bills so I called them to order some contacts which they had stated with the eye exam $190 so I wanted to pay my bill they charge me a late fee of $25 which I was willing to pay and now they're saying the eye exam was the whole expense do not shop here I have been shopping here a long time and this is the first time the new time the new age where companies take a vantage of little people I can't believe they took my money and did not order my contacts for the price they said that they are honored read more

I love the optometrist at the Lens Crafters in Northwoods Mall; however, I will no longer buy glasses from them. I bought new glasses and the lens were not aligned properly to my eyes. They fixed it and I am not sure why I didn't catch it, but the reading section of my glasses were 4 mm too low. The optometrist asked the glasses side of the business what they could do about it and they said they could do nothing since I didn't buy their insurance. So even though it was their mistake, Lens Crafter would not stand behind their work. I love the optometrist but took a copy of my prescription to another place to order my glasses that isn't affiliated with Lens Crafters. My glasses are less than 5 months old. read more

I usually have a good experience when I come for my yearly eye exam here. The optometrist is helpful and I get the glasses that I want in a reasonable amount of time. I bought a newer version of the same exact pair that I already have because I love these so much!! I would've given them 5 stars but today I had to wait really long to be seen by the doctor. I had a 3:45 appointment and I wasn't actually seen until 4:30. There was a family right in front of me and I am sure that is what took forever. I have a feeling that they just walked in right before I got there and didn't even have an appointment. Of course, this was the one day that I wanted to hurry and get it over with. I know that they can't help if people just walk in, but I would think that those with appointments are priority over walk ins. Otherwise, everything else went well and I will have some new Tiffany glasses in a week or so! read more

Very impressed with the service as well as the quickness. Kenyon has assisted me before so it was great that he was able to assist me again after taking the frames home I realized they weren't for me. Trio back was quick and easy as well as the same effort it took to pick out the original pair is what was given on the return visit. Often times the wait can be lengthy especially if you need a eye exam. The pros it's all one place con's limit selection. read more

Two stars for the fitting experience. After an hour, including a return trip because the frames rubbed against my right eyebrow, I finally gave up and left. Their efforts to fix the misfitting frames didn't make any difference. Three different technicians attempted to fit them correctly to no avail. I'm 62 and have worn glasses since the 3rd grade and never had a worse fitting experience. read more

My favorite part of this place is the fitting. They always get It perfect I noticed Edward R had a problem with fitting. I was there that day and it's just his face is very asymmetrical. He also wouldn't stop taking. They kept asking him to please be still.. but he told several stories about where he was from and how that entitled him to tell them how to do their job. He is from Thailand, New Jersey, and LA somehow. When reached for comment all three places failed to claim him. I do hope you give this business a try. This place is dump. I made a 5:15 pm appointment and ended up leaving because they still could not take my wife in for an exam after 25 minutes of waiting. We ended up leaving. I made an appointment for a reason because I have a newborn. Been coming here for years. This place went downhill. I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. If you have other choices that insurance takes please to somewhere else. I repeat, this place sucks. We made an appointment at Target Optical. read more

Had a great experience there today. Dr. Allen is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He's real down to earth and just a happy person overall. He's very knowledgeable and makes the whole experience a breeze. Evelyn helped me on the retail side and she was great! She showed how much my insurance was covering and was able to give me detailed receipts for my FSA. I had my exam, a new prescription and an order for new contacts in under thirty minutes. Park in the Belk parking lot and then walk through Belk. Right across from Planet Fitness. Almost forgot the receptionist! She was awesome as well. read more

I have probably spent 6 grand at this store between me and my wife since I started wearing glasses. Just went in there to try and get a rubber nose piece for my Maui Jims. The girl acted like she was more worried about getting back to her cheeseburger or playing candy crush on her phone than helping me. After she looked at 2 different nose pieces she said we don't have it and it's out of warranty you'll have to try MJ. My Wife just finished what was supposed to be an eye exam. The exam took less than 5 minutes, and the doctor reeked of B/O. He told my wife she didn't need a prescription, but then gave the nurse script to try and sell us. My wife has been far sighted all of her life but the script is for a near sighted script. To top it off they will now charge my insurance company 95 dollars for a 5 minute exam. The only winning factor LensCrafters has is there front staff was nice. The exam was at 3:45 8/20/17. I have been going to Lens Crafters for years in another state. Since I moved to Charleston this is my first experience with this location. On Saturday bought three glasses at a cost of over a thousand dollars. I was then was told the machine was down and it would be longer than an hour. The manager would be in at 1pm and would fix it. At 2pm I was called and told the machine needed a part and the part wouldn't be in until Tuesday. I received a call on Wednesday that the machine was still down and my glasses weren't ready. I specifically chose Lens Crafters a more expensive option so that I can receive my glasses that same day. I could go to another less expensive store if I wanted to wait for my glasses or order on line. There is also Lens Crafters in Charleston that I could have gone to purchase my glasses had I been told the machine was down prior to my purchase and fitting. This continues to drag out and I will not be purchasing anything from Lens Crafters in the future. read more

My family and I were at IOP and my daughter lost her galsses in the ocean. We called a few places and Lenscrafters was able to see us. They accepted my insurance and the employee we were talking to had the same insurance because we both worked in the school system. So we have the exam, pick the glasses and order them. Up to this point everyone was very nice and helpful. so we order HD lenses because of their clarity and fingerprint smudge proof. Ok..now it will take 7 - 10 days to receive them. My daughter cringes, she only has sunglasses to wear..and she's a vet tech and that will make work difficult. But sometimes in an emergency you just have to accept things. So when we get home my daughter calls our local store and tells them the story and actually wanted a contact lens exam, so she would have trial lens to cover her until her glasses arrived. The recommendation from the employee in N. Chas...well the local store tells her they always have her prescription in stock it only had to be sent out for the HD part. So that employee knew our story, heard the anguish from my daughter and still didn't say..'Well if you don't get the HD you can have your glasses today"...nope she choose to go the upsell extra commision route.Shameless..so even though the doctor was great and the docs asst was wonderful..this one employee ruined the reputation of this store.. read more
