I payed $120 just for an exam and a contact "FITTING" (putting in the contacts myself) this price did not include any contacts nor glasses. The glasses were an additional $210 on top of the other fees. They only have high end frames so just be prepared or don't come at all. Just buy glasses online fam. In this economy outrageous. The people were nice but I was not expecting $330 price tag. A redeeming quality was the service. Everyone was kind and explained what was happening. I mostly have a gripe with a lack of transparency within the medical industry.

When I called to ask Dr. Earls more questions before scheduling the exam, I was told she was with a patient - she never called me back. I called back a week later to ask for Courtney, who never seems to be in the office, and again was told Dr Earls would call me - she never did. After 3 phones and tomorrow being THREE WEEKS, I STILL have not heard from their office AT ALL. Today I called a final time and was told by the receptionist that it wasn't "a doctor day," that Courtney isn't in, and then told that Dr Earls would be out ALL week for Spring Break (NOT what the receptionist originally said). I'm obviously being given the run around, and after spending close to $1,000 for their overpriced glasses and sunglasses at my last appointment. Dr Earls is excellent...IF you can see her in person. She doesn't return phone calls, neither does Courtney, apparently, and the receptionist doesn't seem to want to help pass on messages, as she gives the run around when explaining where the two primary employees are at any given time of the workday. After years with this company, and already being frustrated with the high prices, this was the final straw. Our family will be finding an optometrist and eyeglass company that respects and corresponds with customers in a timely fashion. I DO NOT recommend DePoe for these reasons.

He wrote a prescription and told me to come back the following Monday for him to get a quick look and told me I was good to purchase my contacts. I checked out at the front and paid $75.25, I told the receptionist the doctor asked me to return Monday and that I would be back that day to order contacts. when I showed up Monday at 12:30 (lunch) I was told that doctor smith was gone for the day. I said that's fine I'd like to purchase my contacts at which point I was told I don't think that's a good idea with out seeing the doctor. I told the lady that I was suppose to see him today and was never told to come prior to a time other than what is listed on the door for operating hours. She that's ok you can come back tomorrow; I replied with I took an hour off of work and drove 30 minutes to be here and she said I u destined would you like for me to set up a time to see the doctor tomorrow. I said no please transfer my prescription and she said she wouldn't do that until my evaluation is complete (even though the doctor said I could purchase them after he saw me a week earlier). I asked if I have paid in full and she said yes, I said then why did you charge me if the eval is not complete and she said this just how we do it. I said I have to work to pay for doctors and eye insurance and that I can't come back up here again so please issue me a refund. She issued me $55.25, and never told my why I wasn't given the full amount.

The lady's entire demeanor changed when I said I didn't want to pay almost 100 extra for poly carbonate lenses. I said I have plastic now right? She picked up my frames and bent them really hard and popped my lense out and said yeah ans put it back in. 20 min after I left I saw She had cracked my frames all the way down the top. There is nothing wrong with my frames and I wanted to keep them for a back up pair. But of course when I called back to tell them what had happened, they would not replace my frames with a cheap pair. Said I could go find the frames online. I told her I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake. I never asked her to pop my lenses out in the first place. It's such a shame too because I love the doctor. She implied that it doesn't matter if she broke them because they aren't brand new. I doubt she would fell the same if someone grabbed something that belonged to her and broke it and then said oh well I don't have to replace it. It wasn't brand new

Dr. Simmons is a great eye doctor that we have used for years. Even the ordering of our glasses was fine. The problem was when we returned to pick up our glasses. Our first visit we wore our mask like we do at business and doctor offices where they are required, and no one had a problem with it. But when we went back we were forced to change our mask to a less than adequate mask. I mean it didn't even meet the N95 specifications. We buy mask that fit our face, which makes sense so that everyone is protected. Since the mask we were being forced to wear didn't fit my face, I was going to put my own mask on top. I was told if I wore my mask I would have to leave the primacy in a very rude manner. For the life of me, I can NOT comprehend why your company is forcing people to change their mask when they enter the building. Mask are in short supply in some parts of the country. Yet your company policy is to force everyone to change their mask even for a 5 minute appointment! I mean you have to be in front of someone who has been in close contact with a person for more than 15 minutes to even be notified by the trace contact group. Not only does this not make since, but it is also very costly to your company which explains the extremely high rates of your products. I have never been asked to change my mask for a less than adequate mask at any other business since Covid entered the world. Maybe your company needs to do more research on rather or not mask wearing is so beneficial that you are willing to waste that much money on people who come in doing the right thing by wearing a mask. If someone doesn't have on a mask then I understand the purpose of giving them one. But for someone already wearing a mask that is the most dumb, most stupid, and most ridiculous thing I have EVER HEARD OF!!!!!!

I took my kids…read morethere since one of my kids was having difficulty seeing the board at school, they were not particularly welcoming to me or my 2 kids. The optometrist was also not particularly friendly. (We had previously been to Primary Eyecare just across from Downtown Opticians and was used to friendly courteous service, but was not able to get an appointment soon enough). When it was time for my son's contact lense fitting the lady helping him was very impatient with him even though she knew it was his first he was wearing contacts. She was getting frustrated because he was not able to put the contacts in quickly enough and it was getting late in the evening so we came back the following week for him to learn how to put the contacts in. Once again, the same lady was there and offered the same horrible customer service. She actually said in a very rude dismissive tone "you came at a bad time to do this because we are very busy right now". At this time there was only one other person in the store! I was shocked and thinking doesn't she realize I am a customer and I am spending my hard earned money with your company! I was not planning to place the order for contacts with them but against my better judgement I did. I was told they would be in within 7 days. After almost 2 weeks passed I called to inquire and was told they hadn't come and they were not sure when they would arrive but would call me when they came in. A few days later I called again and spoke to Rachael still no contacts, so I politely said "please refund my money I will order it somewhere else". (I ended up ordering them from Sams Club and saved $30.00 and they were ready for pick up in 3 days) Instead of refunding my $100.00 she debited another $100.00 and didn't even bother to call me and notify me of this incompetent error! I later found out while I was checking out at Walmart and my card declined!! I was extremely upset. No manager or anyone from this company has since offered any apology. But if I can save someone from having to deal with these rude incompetent people that's justice. Maybe they are not familiar with the expression "bad news travels fast" I will also report them to the BBB.

If you're considering a new set of glasses or need service on some you already have, do yourself a favor and stay away from the chain optical locations in the shopping malls - deal with a locally owned and well run establishment such as First Look Optical in Macon.
