I purchased a pair of glasses for over $1,000.00 in March of 2025. I had to return to the store because the frame arm was loose on one side. Apparently, there was a problem with the spring. An employee said that they fixed the problem & sent me on my way. A few months later, the glasses are less than a year old, the problem happened again & this time AI was told spring was broken. The staff was rude & would not take the glasses in to get another frame as it was obviously a manufacturers issue. NO customer service & a very poor attitude...they were nice when they took my money. read more

Very limited selection of frames. Called back for my appointment 20 minutes after my appointment time. Appointment was scheduled to include being dilated. Tech is confused on me being dilated because I won't be able to see. Then comes back to say okay because my insurance will pay. Went to the bathroom to put in contacts and it's filthy. read more

We came to the store for annual eyes exam. The staff were friendly and greeted us at the moment we walked in the store. The store was clean and full of customers whose are waiting for their eyes exam as well. They have variety of glasses to be choose and they are pricey than I expected, it could run up to couple of hundred dollars per pair. With insurance you probably end up paying more than $300 for a pair. I think it's worth that much of money for your eyes. We will coming back next year for another eyes exam. read more

Hello, look up national lawsuit against LensCrafters for misleading public into thinking their lenses are higher quality. I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years. My last purchase of 3 pairs of glasses from this facility was problematic from techs down to quality of lenses. Sport lenses were ordered with the wrong prescription ( they used the distance for my computer glasses and simply said it was a misunderstanding, no apology). My no line bifocals experienced heat fracture (thousands of cracks) and they said it is normal. The most heat they have seen is while on my face in the summer. They messed up my astigmatism correction according to another optometrist. I would avoid this place like the plague. I wasted almost 2k. Either go cheap or go somewhere better - Walmart or Wheaton eye center. Anyone looking to purchase glasses read more

Lens crafters used to be a good place to go for affordable eyewear with on site labs making your glasses in an hour. We'll much yo my surprise no on site frames are only high price designer frames starting with the lowest I found was $265. Just for the frames and most know that insurance only pays a certain percentage. Well after seeing that what frames where ridiculous in price I will never go to that store again. What happen to good quality and good prices. Sorry Lens Crafters lost a customer for ever. read more

From the time that I entered the store I felt very welcomed. The advisors knowledge in eyewear and eyes in general was amazing. Dr. Evola is hands down of of the best Doctors that I have been able to check my eyes and give me knowledge in my eyes and the things that were going on with them. She was very clear and helped me understand all the checking and processes that I was going through. If I could give zero stars I would! The door was locked because they are only taking appointments apparently (understandable with Covid). However, no one would get up and walk to the door to answer my questions on appointments (do I need one even to just look at frames??). I just wanted to look and I can purchase later. I kept getting the "hold on finger" for nearly 10 minutes (not to mention it's cold out). From that alone, I knew the customer service would be terrible. Took my son here recently as he had lost his glasses and I was thinking - oh hey, they make them on site. Well, they don't do that anymore! That was their competitive advantage IMO. Twice during the holidays, my lens popped out of my glasses. I procrastinated in taking them in to be fixed but finally remembered to bring them along to the mall this past weekend. When I walked into the store, I almost walked back out within a few minutes. A group of employees were standing in the middle of the store chatting. I stood there waiting for them to assist me for a long while. It wasn't until another employee (who had been helping a customer fit glasses when I walked in) asked if I needed help. A few employees in the circle turned around and were embarrassed that they hadn't seen me standing there. The ones that were directly facing me didn't seem to care. They carried out there conversation, which I picked up to being about "switching hours with so-n-so and going home early today since there are like no customers today" Once helped by the associate that seemed to give a shit about customers (she was really nice, btw) one of the technicians came out to discuss the situation with my lens. He was also really helpful. When I left, the woman that appeared to be a manager was spinning around in one of the chairs. I gave the scene and eye roll and went on my merry way. read more

My daughter needed a replacement pair of glasses ASAP. So I called ahead with her prescription and to make sure they had her lenses in stock. Irene was super helpful and set aside what we needed. Once there, we were completely done with glasses in hand in less than an hour. She was very friendly and expert with maximizing savings for me. read more

Your mileage may vary depending on so many factors. And it only takes that one bad experience (like I had at Sears Optical in Stratford) to turn you off from the place while others may have had somewhat better experiences there. Thankfully after my awful experience at the aforementioned Sears Optical in Stratford, I found a much better experience at the Lenscrafters. It didn't take long for a staff member to greet me and when I mentioned I didn't have a prior appointment, she put me in for one within the hour, which was cool. I was way overdue for an eye exam so I was glad they were able to fit me in such a short period of time. The entire appointment was pretty good and the whole process, including buying new frames was completed in just under 3 hours, which is great in my books. read more

Everyone else I interacted with just wanted to sell me something. All I wanted was replacement lenses for my current frames. Worst service ever. Waited almost an hour and a half for my 5 year old sons eye examination for kindergarten. Come to find out they lost his chart. Not even a apology or any thing. This is the worst place! Every time I go to this location, the "store manager - Stacy" is rude to customers. This time, I heard a customer ask for another associate, and Stacy stated that the person is "not in the business now". The customer then asked what she meant by that, Stacy replied, "she is out on personal leave, I can't say anymore than that!" Then said in a snarky way, "how can I help you?" Stacy is so fake and truly needs a course in customer service. I have several choice adjectives for her, but will refrain from this site... She is always condescending to the employees and customers! Followed my eye doctor to this location so I thought what the heck I'll get some glasses here too. I have progressive lens, high index, self tinting, with a pair of frames that were $250 dollars. The told me my glasses were $1,000.... I told the give me my prescription I'm out of here. Found the same frames on line for $120. Shipped. Big rip off. Sam's Club here I come. read more

Doctor mixed up OD and OS numbers on my Rx. I ordered glasses with the written script and now the glasses ive ordered are worthless to me! Worse experience ever!! Customer service at its lowest low. It won't be long before they go out of business. I had order my prescription glasses two weeks ago, I was told that normally takes a week but because my frame was in back order it might take an extra couple of days. 2 weeks passed and I was waiting for a call from them but no one bothered so I called, and found out that not only were not ready but there is no estimated time as to when. Clerk said that she will call the lab and find out and get back to me in 30 mins well, 5 hours later and no call. So very disappointing! its pity because the person that help me making a selection on lenses and frame was very nice (Angie)I guess she is the only decent person there. The clerk that gave me the refund today, she didn't even apologize to me, very rude., and she used her coworkers login when giving me the refund because it says( Justin) on the receipt but she was a woman. The eyecare assistant was blatantly unknowledgeable about the tests she was supposed to be performing and about the payment structure of my purchase. Additional fees were constantly being added to my purchase, and I had to question everything that was added without my approval to have it removed. It didn't seem that the extra charges were added with malicious intent; the assistant just didn't appear to know how to do her job or which add-ons were truly optional. I spent almost three hours in the store today just trying to get a routine checkup and a new pair of glasses - this is far longer than anyone should have to spend in a LensCrafters. read more

Two years ago I tried the Lenscrafter in Charlestowne Mall. Two different Optometrists came up with two different prescriptions, then I was told something was wrong with my eyes. I spent extra money to see a specialist. There was nothing wrong with my eyes. The doctor just rolled her eyes in amazement that Lenscrafter couldn't perform a simple eye exam. I thought I would give the Stratford Mall Lenscrafter store a shot. Unfortunately, I received the same poor results. The Optometrist couldn't produce a prescription and told me to come back in a week and try again. I don't make the same mistake twice, so no thanks. Where do their Optometrists get their degrees from? Some south Atlantic island school? I just wasted my yearly insurance copay. I will have to now pay for the next exam myself, but better to get a proper exam somewhere else for glasses that work. This was my last visit to Lenscrafter. Never again. read more

I had a great experience here with Vince! He was very helpful and even looked into my benefits for me. I didn't have my eye exam here (I should have) , but still he helped me pick out cute frames and saved me over $110 ! I will been back for another pair. After reading some of the negative reviews I was a bit concerned that Lenscrafters, Stratford might have experienced some decline in service since my last visit a few years ago. Far from it! They were as professional, fast and courteous as ever. They went out of their way to accommodate time constraints on the day of my visit. The optometrist on duty was top notch. When I went online to verify the appointment, I couldn't and when I called to verify I was told they had already "given away" the scheduled time. If i could give less stars or none i would!! I called this morning and told me they were taking walk ins since it wasnt busy, i waited there for 30 mins and a young lady helped me with my insurance, after that they took me into a eoom to get started with the eye exams. It was a guy that did it, when we did the pressure machine, not once did he tell me what it was and i got freaked out when that thing went off on me , after that , the "doctor" made me wait and never greated me. She did her testing and told me i needed to sign a document saying that i didnt want the back of my eye to be checked and that there was something wrong. (Sure) when i was doing the check out i wanted glasses that were $188 dls and my deductible for my insurance covered 130 dls. So i needed to pay 58dls out of my pocket plus tax. The guy that was doing that told me that my total came to $188 dls and he was gonna charge me for my eye exam separetly( really? When i had 0 copay!!) i asked him to please disclose everything that he was charging for and his response was I DONT KNOW!!! I asked for my results for my eye wxam and left, i called again because i wanted an anwer of why he was charging for 188 dls?!? And whoever i spoke to, was rude ans told me that he had added a bunch of things i did not know!! I was beyond angry at this point!! Costumer service sucked and trying to make money off of me didnt work!! Will not ever recommend this place to anyone!! Be on the look out for what they are charging you!!! read more

Bad experience times two. My wife went there for an exam and contacts. The people were rude. She had an appointment and arrived 5 minutes early by the LensCrafters clock. However, because (they say) their clock is fast they had kicked her out of the system. My wife waited 2 hours and 15 minutes for the doctor. Got her exam but when they shipped her contacts to her they were the wrong prescription and hurt her eyes. She went back and complained. They were rude again. Shipped her a new prescription which still is bad. Now we are going to a different eye doctor. Steer clear. read more

I called Lenscrafters in Bloomingdale and had an appointment for my daughter last week. I have a different insurance so I called to make sure that they accepted my specific insurance. The lady on the phone said yes they do, so I continued with making the appointment. I went in the next day with my daughter and asked, again, if my insurance was accepted. They, again, said yes. So I continued on with all the exams and even had a conversation with the lady that came in before the doctor and she questioned my insurance and....yet again....said it was accepted. So now we pick out glasses and go to get them fitted and the guy tells me he can't directly bill my insurance and that I have to submit it to be reimbursed and that I owe $298.47. I said "WHAT?" Well, everything was all said and done and he basically said I can't leave there without paying it, so I gave my Visa and walked out. I called the insurance company the next day and they said that they don't accept my submissions and that LensCrafters has to bill them directly. I called and advised this information and they told me to speak to a supervisor when I pick up my daughter's glasses. I did so, last night. Mark was very kind and offered a refund of $50.00 for my inconvenience. Although this is better than nothing, I'm still out $248.47. I expressed my frustration about this and he brushed it off like it was no big deal. I feel that this seems to be a way to get customers backed into a corner. All employees need to be on the same page and not trying to get money out of a single mom of 3 who did call and ask 4 times if my insurance was taken. I was fully taken advantage of.
