If it's your first time coming and you come in on a weekend prepare for a wait and if your dining in make sure to Be prepared to find a table. The food is great, customer Service isn't the best. The only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to that serves authentic Mexican food, and this is coming from a Mexican. Lol My family has been coming here for years! EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious, the tamales, tacos, gorditas, caldos de pollo y de res, quesadillas, molcajete, menudo, you name it! The rice & beans and pico de gallo taste just like my Tia's. They have the best champurrado too, I always get one to go! Tortillas hechas a mano, señoras with black pantyhose, hairnets, orthopedic wedges and tight skirts run the show around here! When I come to this place I always order the costillas which are pretty good. The problem with his place is the service! Most women here seem to be more attentive to the men who come in. Our server never checked on us after dropping off the food, didn't prebus our table and took forever to drop off our check. Service here needs major work. read more

This place was a go-to spot for me while growing up (early 1990's). My parents loved coming in for breakfast and coffee. I love how nothing has changed other than the employees. Their tortillas are hand made everyday! Non of that Vallarta store bought stuff. Their menu is really simple and includes such things as huevos con chorizo, costillas con chile rojo, chile verde, birria, caldo de pollo and quesadilla's. My only two cons; no AC and it's cash only. If I could give this place a 0 I would. This was my second time coming here. And I ordered $50 worth of food. My carne asada plate was burnt. My agua de horchata tasted rotten. The lady at the counter got my order wrong. I had ordered somthing that was suppose to come with caldo and it didn't. One the best Homemade Mexican places in town. Tortillas, Sopes, gorditas and Tamales all made fresh there. The Cocido (Beef soup) is the bomb and the best homemade Tortillas around. Unfortunately they do not have taco Al Pastor so I was a little bummed but their Carna Asada was nice and tender, so it made up for the loss. The Sopes combination plate was very filling. They make their Sopes with refried beans, meat, lettuce, Monterey jack cheese and a tomato. The corn meal shell was very fresh and not greasy. The Sope was pretty good, but... I have had better. The rice was tasty and the beans were pretty good. All homemade, so the beans were a little watery. The taco was pretty much meat, lettuce and Monterey jack cheese. The best part was the tortilla. Totally fresh made. You can tell that's their staple to most of their dishes. I ordered way more than I could eat, but it was still fun tasting such delicious food. They provide two different salsas; which looked scary at first but both were excellent, very spicy and made a great addition to the overall meal. We also tried the Horchata, very sweet and cinnamony. This is a total "local" scene, with customers that have been coming here for years! We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. They had already run out of Birria. I had a craving for their gorditas today and decided to call and let me say they have horrible customer service. I called repeatedly either no one answers or busy tone . When I finally got through a very rude woman placed me on hold and took like 5 orders before she came to the line . She finally got on the line and since I didn't respond fast enough hung up in my face . If you're looking for some good inexpensive authentic Mexican food and are in this area, this place is a must try. There is absolutely nothing fancy about this place, but the food is bomb. They don't have many meatless options, they only have the chile rellenos , and they're so good! The weren't super spicy. They were fried with a mild sauce and stuffed with the right amount of cheese, and were served with a side of rice and beans. They're agua de pina is super yummy too. My boyfriend had the nopales with beef, and he said those are the best nopales he's had. This is a cash only restaurant. The service was a little slow here. We had to wait a fairly long time to have our food served. There is huge parking lot, so finding a parking spot should be no problem. Be prepared to smell like food when you leave this place. The service is horrible they don't have enough waitresses and the ones that they have are a hot mess, completly unorganized and very rude. But, I keep telling myself I need to try things multiple times to form an opinion. We arrived at Lenchita's on a Saturday morning. She mentioned how the place can get busy and they sometimes run out of tortillas. I took the time to read about the place's family heritage and was really impressed with the history. We started with some quesadillas and I got my first taste of the handmade tortillas. They were fantastic. Followed up with menudo which was equally good. It had a deeply flavored broth and ample quantities of meat. Huge portions and solid service. Go when it's not busy if you can. read more
