We came here one day recently with some friends. We don't get Thai food very often, and we have this excellently reviewed Thai restaurant right here in our backyard. It was time. Ambiance was very nice, tranquil. Lot's of green space. We even got a picture taken against the front green wall sitting space. Very nice place. Service was very good. Every person we encountered was nice. The food came out very timely and was warm, fresh, and vibrant. No worries at all. As for the food itself, it was very good. I started off with the Tom Yum Goong (Shrimp in a house spicy lemongrass broth with onions, cilantro, and mushrooms). The broth was so light and herbal, with a nice lemongrass zing. Mushrooms were the main player in terms of bite and chew here, and they were delicious. Loved this soup. We also had the Thai Fish Cakes (Deep-fried fish patties with red curry paste, kaffir lime leaf, and thin sliced long green bean, house recipe spicy and sweet tangy dipping sauce). Amazing. Crisp exterior with a moist, curry-forward interior that was fishy, but not too fishy. Perfect for dipping in that balanced sauce. For my main, I had my favorite Thai dish, the Phad Se-Ew (Wide rice noodle stir-fried with broccoli, carrot, egg and black pepper in mild soy-garlic seasoning). These noodles are So good. They're wide and hold the sauce really well. They have a good chew to them. And they were inundated with nice, crunchy veggies. I added chicken, and I got a ton of it. Very good entree. I also got the chance to try the Lemongrass Signature Curry (Shrimp, squid, scallop in special-recipe, stir-fried curry with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, bell pepper, onion, carrot, and egg). The luscious curry, the perfectly cooked seafood, yes even the scallop, and the myriad veg made this dish a stunner. The only think I needed was more white rice on the side. For dessert, we got the Durian Ice Cream. Yes, you read that correctly. And while you could smell it, it wasn't smelly. All of the steps between the durian being grown in another country and becoming my ice cream in Oviedo had teased out the horrible smell and left only a slight funk and a very smooth, actually delightful little bowl of ice cream. Go out on a limb and try it. It'll be fine, I promise. Overall, this was a great little Thai spot. I'm glad I came, and I'm glad it's so close by to where I live. read more

Lemongrass Thai Kitchen is a family-owned Thai restaurant near the intersection of Lockwood Blvd and E Mitchell Hammock Rd. My wife and I have enjoyed good, tasty food and good service here a number of times with friends. When we go to a Thai restaurant, we'll order fresh Summer Rolls, to try them out. From our first few times of ordering here, I'd have ranked the rolls as some of the best I've tasted. But, the last time, they were okay. The house-made hoisin peanut butter sauce, however, remains a standout. Most recently, I tried the steamed dumplings app and enjoyed wrapped minced chicken with the soy vinaigrette sauce. Tasty! All the dishes we've ordered here have been delivered in a reasonable time and have been flavorful. To name a few: Tofu and Vegetable Soup broth, Wok Fried Basil with crunchy red and green bells peppers; Wok-Fried Ginger / Garlic and Black Pepper / Mixed Vegetables (3 different dishes). Being able to choose the level of heat is a beautiful thing, even if the dish contains brown savory sauce. My choice is always medium heat, and the chefs nail it every time. My wife, on the other hand, can only have low to zero heat, so she can enjoy the dish. The service is always good, moving from kitchen to table, and polite. Reservations are accepted, but not always necessary. Weekends appear to be the busiest time. The inside seating is modest, but the level of service keeps the table turnover quick. Pros: Ambiance is gorgeous. They really do a lot with the strip mall amount of space they have. Plenty of seating, as well as a green wall for photos. Service was very friendly. And the food came out hot, fresh, and fast. The food itself was really great. Fair portion sizes, really delicious fresh veggies, and bold flavors throughout. Cons: No cons whatsoever. This has been that "new Thai place in Oviedo" for way too long. It's no longer new, so if you haven't been-go! I wish I hadn't taken so long to go and I wish I had the stomach real estate to eat more dishes. I ordered the Panang tofu curry and medium spice level. It was wonderful--slightly sweet and rich with fresh, flavorful vegetables. My daughter ordered the appetizer sampler and loved all of the samples. The rest of my party raved about their choices--cashew chicken and Thai fried rice. The restaurant is a little on the small side, so if you have a big group call ahead or go during non-peak time. This is a cute little restaurant, that was very busy with seating, packed inside and out. It's always a good sign one on a Saturday night at restaurant is fully seated. The servers were very friendly, it was hard to get their attention for refills or an added order because they were so busy that night. The restaurant appears very clean and there are a lot of good items to choose from on the menu. We ordered the Thai iced tea, which was tasty and well-made. The wonton soup lacked flavor. There wasn't even a little bit of flavor. It was like water, however, the dumplings seemed to be homemade and fresh or at least made with light and airy pasta. The vegetables were not cooked, and the carrots in the soup were very hard and raw. The spring rolls were good and the peanut sauce was excellent. I think I would order the pad Thai or a more traditional dish the next time and I would definitely not order the wonton soup again. read more

Drunken noodles had absolutely delicious flavor!!! Pad Thai was yummy but a tad dry. Flavors were good but $19 for standard sizes (proteins were tofu and chicken) put the menu cost higher than other Thai restaurants. The last menu photo posted is outdated pricing. There are no lunch specials either. Would not recommend Thai tea - it did not taste fresh, tasted off compared to every other Thai tea I've had, almost like it was an old batch but may have just been a non-standard recipe. read more

What a great hidden gem! We came here for dinner because our party has dietary restrictions and this restaurant came recommended as celiac safe. They were so incredibly accommodating and we were so impressed! We were served by two servers and each were well spoken and knowledgeable about the menu components and the adjustments needed to be safe. They were able to offer all non-fried menu items without gluten, and most without soy or dairy. The food was delicious! The menu prices are a bit high but the portions are huge, one entree can easily be shared or used for more than one meal. It has a nice cozy feel and nice decor. We went to Lemongrass for dinner on a Thursday night around 8pm and it wasn't too crowded. We were seated immediately and our waiter was very friendly. I ordered the Thai fish cakes and tofu pad see ew, and my friend got calamari and chicken pad thai. The fish cakes were piping hot and full of Thai flavor - you could really taste the lemongrass and kaffir leaves. Delicious dipped with the sweet chili sauce. The calamari was also crispy and fresh - good, but nothing out of the ordinary. My tofu pad see ew came out straight from the wok. While I wish it had some of the wok hei flavor, where the noodles and eggs get the charred bits of flavor from a hot work, the flavor was still umami and spot on. The noodles had a great chew and there was a ton of tofu in the dish. My friend's pad thai was also top-notch - sweet, sour, savory, and noodles were cooked perfectly. Service was great throughout the entire meal and the dishes came out in a reasonable time. Food was delicious and I'd love to come back and try their other dishes. read more

Swung by here on a very busy Friday. House was packed and all tables were taken so recommend rsvp'ing. So I decided to take it to go. I found the food to be decent. I had to go for my typical go to Thai dishs but wished I would of tried something different in retrospect. In any event with the dish's I got I would say you're in good hands for decent Thai food. The shrimp tempura was solid not overly greasy and still crunchy even it being to go. The basil rice is decent doesn't beat the best I ever had but it did a solid job of fulfilling me. After years of searching for the best thai food in town, I have found the one! We ordered the panang curry, sweet and sour, drunken noodles and the volcano fried rice all with chicken. It came with different levels of spicy and we got the hot which wasn't bad at all for someone who can handle spicy. Everything was seasoned perfectly and was very flavorful. I highly recommend the panang curry and the drunken noodles, those were my favorites! The dishes come in a good amount, great to do family style and share dishes. There's a lot more that stood out in the menu and would come back again to try out more. The staff here is friendly and sweet. Even on a Monday night, all the table inside was full. Great food in a very unconventional casual way. The restaurant is very relax and simple, yet everything is spotless and classy with excellent service. The food is amazing, fresh and savory but without the heavy feeling afterwards, even when you eat too much. I travel to Thailand quite often. I know what authentic Thai looks and tastes like. Tom Kha was watery. Lacked flavor as did the Tom Yum. The duck curry was severely overcooked and dry dispute being in curry sauce. Tamarin shrimp was good as was laab but recent offered until we were done with entrees. Sticky rice with mango was terrible!! Green (?) rice was a solid! No coconut taste whatsoever. When giving feedback to the owner she couldn't have been more rude and disinterested. Outright rude person. As we were eating our dinner, she pointed out that people were waiting for a table. We hadn't been there for more than a half hour and we just got our entrees?! Oviedo-We were excited to find this place so close to home. It's decorated beautifully. We tried several dishes, along with a matcha tea and coconut water. The coconut water was tasty but for five dollars I think I should've gotten a lot more for my money. The Matcha tea was extremely sugary. Sadly, two of our entrées were way too sweet to enjoy. I feel like they added at least a cup of sugar to our entrées. We had Pad Thai chicken, and Pad Se-Ew with chicken. Both not very tasty, just sweet. We also tried their house fried rice, which had little flavor, but definitely was not sugary sweet. Their Tom Kah Kai soup was really delicious! We also got an extra side of the peanut sauce to take home. Unfortunately, when she packaged our leftover soup and peanut sauce, she did not snap the lids on, and they spilled in the car. We got home and had neither the soup or the sauce. Overall, we probably won't return. There are so many Thai places on my list, and I have only just begun!!! read more

Felt rush to order (I believe they don't have enough tables and wanted us out of their fast so they could serve others) After about 10 mins in we asked if they could turn down the ac as my friends were sweating from being hot, we ask the serve as he was sweating himself and he said there was nothing he could do about it. the thermometer said it was 80 in there. I had dinner here recently and the place was packed. There was a long wait inside so we sat outside at a table. We liked the Thai beer and Thai iced tea we got. The spring rolls and tofu lover appetizers we got were delicious. I got the green curry with tofu and we both liked it. I got the green curry mild/medium spicy level and it was not too spicy for me. The menu stated the spicy level can be customized for your own preference. There are lots of options here for vegetarians since tofu is available as a protein choice in many of the dishes. My friend got a chicken red curry dish she said was inedible. She said the chicken had a raw smell and she couldn't eat any of it. We told the waitress and she took it off the bill. I wanted to try the durian ice cream since I had never tried durian before. I've read that durian fruit is a love it or hate it flavor. We both personally did not like the durian flavor. Went for lunch on Monday and was very pleasantly surprised. First most of all the tables were filled so very happy to see this in the hopes that they will be around for a long time. We ordered a few different things with the #1 love being Tom Yum Goong. This soup was amazing. . . will definitely be returning just on this soup alone. We also ordered the Lemongrass Green Salad which had a lovely peanut dressing on it. . . Very good and very fresh. The Calamari and Coconut Shrimp were a bit disappointing. The breading was very nice, but the Calamari was over breaded so the inside was a bit gummy. The Coconut Shrimp had an off taste to them as if something was up with the oil they were cooked in. Overall i will be returning because i can't wait to try the other items on their menu, but you can be sure the Tom Yum Goong will be ordered often. I'm hopeful the Calamari and Coconut Shrimp will be addressed and shored up as i'm sure they can become true winners. read more

Came on a Friday evening and it was busy! Name and party size was written on a notepad as we waited about 20 minutes or so for a table. A table had opened up which was fine as it was cooler outside. Asked for water and no ice and the ice was warmer than expected and tasted a little funny. Started off with vegetable spring roll which came with 3 pieces. They were on the leaner side and came with a dipping sauce. They were good and had a good crunch to them. I do wish there was more filling inside them. For main we both had tofu pad Thai medium spicy. It was on the sweeter side vs spice so we had a spice tray brought out to help spice it up. The sweetness still overpowered it though. There were plenty of tofu pieces but it lacked egg. Overall, it was good. I would come back and perhaps try another dish. Servers were all nice. read more
