So good we went there twice in three days! Our first day our server was Julia and she was friendly and helpful! Our year old nephew loved her and she played along. All of our dishes were yummy from an omelette to Mahi sandwich pulled pork crab cakes and soup and sandwich. Delish!! Our next visit we had Ashley and she was delightful. We visited the Lemon Tree on a weekday morning for breakfast. The location is convenient in the downtown area of the island. The ambiance is cute and reminds me of a 1960's coffee shop. The service was efficient and very friendly. We received coffee right away and prompt refills. Our server was professional and polite. The food was not as good as we were hoping for at the start. Part of my hot dish was cold and the potatoes looked hours old. My spouse ordered a wafgle that came flat out blackened on one side. Looking at the other reviews, four of us decided to eat at the Lemon Tree for brunch on a Friday. They were busy but it was worth the 20 min wait to get in. I had the Mimosas. Beware, it is served in a Ball jar which holds a lot more than a champagne flute and very good. Having their fill of fish this week, the guys had the black angus burgers which they gave a thumbs up to. My Sister and I had one pancake with sausage with "Vermont" maple syrup. Although,the little jars with syrup served said they were from CA,it tasted like real maple syrup. Maybe just the distributor is from CA? The pancakes were huge and good too. I also had a cup of the lobster bisque, and it was just as tasty as any I've had in Maine! The service,also excellent. We will return again next year. read more

I was looking forward to seafood quiche - but there were a very few tiny bits of seafood and loads of vegetables. What a disappointment! The bill came, and this little sliver of basically vegetable quiche was $23! The poor server felt terrible, and the manager did adjust the price to match what was posted. Taken in the order you recommend, The food was just awful. My wife had the soup du jour and it had a great similarity to a wallpaper paste. Granted it was broccoli cheese and it was late in the afternoon. I had the lobster bisque and the lobster must have just visited the kitchen because he did not make it to the soup. I had the chicken pot pie and the lobster and the chicken must have gone out together, because there was not NONE in the pie. While the server is always fantastic. The hostess was rude. Told us 25 min and we waited almost an hour. People before us were seated, they then called 2 other parties. The hostess then told her collague they were still seating others, not us. Cute small place in Vero that is frequented by locals and some of "us" tourists when in the area. I have only been for breakfast. Both times they have been completely full with people waiting outside. The interior is mostly whites and yellows with a country decor feel. They do not have espresso, just American coffee. They also do not have fresh squeezed orange juice. They gave me a bottled one when I asked for fresh squeezed. Insert puzzled face here. I would not say the menu is innovative. It's basically breakfast basics done well. The omelets are pretty big and it's a good idea to share if getting that. We like to go because it feels like you are dining in someone's house. An amazing experience, delicious food and service with fond memories of when I was a little girl

My friend & I stopped in for lunch. A little disappointed in the salad I ordered. My friend liked the quiche & fruit she had.

I believe this is the first time I've ever been in a restaurant where I had such a poor experience that I decided to write a review in real time. It's a beautiful day today in Vero Beach and I decided to get out of the office for a nice meal while taking care of some emails. I came in to the Lemon Tree which seemed to be a lovely diner. I was shown to a table right away by the hostess then before sitting down I asked the waitress nearby what the wifi password was. I was in the middle of sending an important message on my phone and lost my data signal when I got inside. She told me to use the one from the restaurant next door and their password, immediately followed by asking what I wanted to drink. I said water and was about to ask for coffee but stopped myself and told her I didn't know because I'd never been here and needed a minute to look at the menu. One reason I chose this place is because they serve all-day breakfast. Apparently she perceived this as "snapping" at her and proceeded to essentially punish me for the duration of my stay. Pretty much every way a server could be passive aggressively nasty to a customer she was to me. I don't normally take the behaviors of others personally and tried to be especially pleasant, you never know what other people are going through. I tried to focus on my meal and work which became more difficult to do the longer I was there, especially with the polarity of how great of a server she was to the tables who came in after me, and the increased nastiness she served up to me. Finally after she'd slammed the bill down on my table walking past in the middle of my meal which I didn't respond to, she came over and told me they offered complimentary sorbet as I was literally putting a fork of food to my mouth. At this point I confronted her, pointing to my plate and telling her I'm still eating and asked what her problem with me was, as she'd been rude since the moment I got here. She raised her voice at me and said I had "snapped" at her when she asked what I wanted to drink. There was clearly no point of having a discussion, especially as other people in the restaurant were being disturbed, so I stopped engaging with her, nodded, and turned back to my meal. Now from my perspective today I cannot bring myself to give the Lemon Tree a more favorable review. The food may have been great but I couldn't notice based on the experience. That said, every other server I observed was extremely pleasant and service-oriented, and all of the other tables appeared to be very happy. Even the other tables that my server had were treated great. So why am I bothering to write this review? Because I eat out a lot. At least ten times per week. It's one of the things that brings me joy and I believe life is meant to be filled with joy. I could have just left and gone about my day, but not writing this review would be a disservice to you, to me, to the Lemon Tree, and to my server -- who I sincerely hope will reflect on this experience for growth. And because not doing so would continue to perpetuate the decline of customer service -- which I am passionately invested and involved in -- and it would make my experience today normal and acceptable. While bad behavior has been normalized in our society, it's neither normal nor is it acceptable. Especially for those in the business of customer service. read more
