My friends and I were filled to the brim with dumplings from Chinatown. What better way to end the meal than with something refreshing? Enter lemomo. It's a small tea shop, right across from chicha san chen. We originally wanted chicha, but after looking at chichas prices which were shockingly higher than the bay, my eyes shifted to lemomo. I was curious. They were handing out samples in the front which totally took me by surprise. The lemon tea was tart and super refreshing. The store was lively and busy. I went inside and ordered a passion fruit lemon tea. Which!! Omg, I just can't find a passion fruit lemon tea as astounding as the one from lemomo. The tartness, the flavor of the tea and passion fruit, how it hits you right in the face but still manages to avoid being overly sweet (a tricky balance). Wow. I was pleasantly shocked. How I wish I could have ordered their largest cup looking back. The service was fast and quick. You can adjust sugar, ice and their biggest cup was ginormous. The prices were so good too. Ginger lovers!!! Perfect for a cold weathered day to have some ginger milk tea. The ginger is real ginger that they made the juice out of and not powdered ginger. I can taste the difference. I had soy milk to give it some natural sweetness with no added sugar and it was perfection. Helped me digest but also curb my dessert craving! Service was quick and patient. A nice walk in lemon tea/ bubble tea shop. There are no seats inside, and you can order at the register or at the machine on the side. I got a Jasmine lemon tea, and it was super refreshing on a hot day! The Jasmine flavor is strong, and because it did not come with sugar, the drink itself was tart. It was a hot day and I came in here to try a refreshing drink. I had the mango lemonade and it was amazing so refreshing and tasty not sweet which I love. They allow you to say if you want sugar or less sugar or no sugar which is amazing and I love it. When you have options for me that is a huge plus. I got the largest size cup and it was delicious. Wampi is a fruit that I thought even predate my parents' time - my only memory is my grandma sometimes eating them and it is known for having not much flesh and the flavor comes from chewing the skin (the "pi"). So I was intrigued to try their wampi lemon tea. I do like the tangy and slightly bitter taste that wampi brings to the drink, and the actual wampi skin in the drink gives it more texture. All the drinks sounded very interesting so my group and I were down to try it. However, the "unique" ingredients either didn't shine through or shone through too much. I got the osmanthus milk tea, and it was a solid milk tea but I couldn't detect any osmanthus. My husband ordered the classic wampi lemon tea, but the wampi flavor was very strong and not enjoyable. I've had wampi as is before in those little containers from Chinese supermarkets, but none tasted as bitter as the tea. I would advise you to pass on the wampi. My sister got the yashi oolong corn milk tea. It tasted more like Japanese corn soup than milk tea, which is good in its own way but just different than what was expected. We later translated what yashi is and was thrown off by the "duck shit" translation. However, we later researched that it's just a type of tea that doesn't contain any duck shit. TBH, I'm not sure I would want to come back here again when there are lots of other high-performing tea shops in the area. read more

The person came to the register while I was deciding on a drink. It's a small store, no seating except the ledge by the window which is nice when the store isn't crowded. Lemon Tea would be refreshing. I decided on a Orian Maojian Jasmine Lemon Tea ($7.45). Jasmine is very light. In this case, the lemon overpowered the Jasmine and was a bit too sweet for me even with less ice and sugar. The slices of the lemons were not thick though I swallowed a lemon seed while I was drinking the tea, which is rare. Go try and you decide for yourself. read more

I stopped by Lemomo Tea on a Thursday around 7 PM. It's a new bubble tea shop on Bayard Street in Chinatown, and as soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the smell of lemon tea--which was really nice. The shop itself is pretty small, with just a couple of seats by the window, so it's definitely more of a grab-and-go spot. However, the staff didn't make much of an impression. There was a man sitting by the cashier on his phone the whole time. No greeting, no interaction. The only time we heard from a staff was when another staff called out our number for us to pick up our drinks. It felt a bit impersonal, especially for a brand-new shop. I ordered at the kiosk, which was quick and easy. I got the Coconut Lemon Tea and the Oiran Maojian Jasmine Lemon Tea. The Coconut Lemon Tea was super refreshing for a hot day. It was sweet with a nice hint of lime, which added a little tang. I just wish it had more of a citrus kick. The cup was a decent size, but I felt like there was way more ice than drink. Also, I couldn't taste much tea--I was left wondering if there was any in there at all. The Oiran Maojian Jasmine Lemon Tea was interesting, but not for me. I went with this instead of the HK-style lemon black tea because it was late, and I didn't want to be kept up by the caffeine. It tasted overly artificial and had a strong, perfumey flavor. It's part of their "Classic Perfume Lemon Tea Series," but it wasn't something I'd order again. I'd go back to try the Coconut Lemon Tea again, maybe with less sugar, or give their Wampi Lemon Tea or HK-style Handcrafted Lemon Black Tea a try.
