Couple weeks ago, in 90+ degrees day! our A/C stopped working. The HVAC technician determined that the problem was in the panel box and suggested to call an electrician. When I left a message for couple electric companies, explaining our situation, Perry Leitner (the owner of Leitner Electric) called me back in about 10 - 15 minutes. He was on another job site, but came after scheduled work to our house late afternoon, quickly identified the source of the problem and made temporary repair. It turned out that the outside cable was severely damaged by storms which resulted in the panel being rusty inside and one fuse socket was damaged. Our house is 58 years old, and we still had the original fuse panel. Next day (which was Friday) Perry sent me an invoice / job proposal with everything that had to be done itemized. The price was very reasonable. Monday morning at 7:30 AM Perry and his crew started working in our house and outside. Same day we had a brand new circuit breaker panel, new outside cable and new meter box. Perry and all his crew were very polite, professional responsive and caring. I met an incredibly kind, gracious, and generous man today. I have Lou Gehrigs disease and I drive my van from my powerchair. For the times when I need someone else to drive me, there is a plug that connects to the back of the regular driver's seat that allows anyone to drive the van. This plug was bust with loose wires. A random google search of electricians brought up Leitner Electric where I left a message. The next day I got a call from Mr. Perry asking how he could help. His tone was very friendly and I was amazed at how he carefully listened to what I needed and said he was willing to try to help me (even though repairing a plug in a disabled van was not in his scope of work, I bet!). While waiting outside his office this morning I was reading about Leitner Electric and discovered that Mr. Perry is the CEO of the company! There was a heavy drizzle as I waited and a minute later this person comes out in a rain jacket, introduced himself and got right to work. He got things working almost immediately and to top it off, he re-taped all the wires and neatened up everything. After the job was done, he noticed that the air pressure in a tire was low. He went to his car and got a tire inflator and filled my tire. Then I could not believe it when he went around to the other tires and checked the air pressure in the remaining tires. They were all low. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. One of his employees came out toward the end while Mr. Perry was checking the air in my tires and he said that Mr. Perry was the best boss ever; hands on and leading by example. At the end of it all, we exchanged a hug and I was off! No mention of a charge (the van shop had quoted a 2-hour labor charge of $300 with no guarantee that they could get it to work). I felt Mr. Perry was almost thanking me for giving him a chance to help me! He likes to make people happy, he said. Check out the reviews on the Leitner website! The guys at Leitner Electric were fantastic! They were able to apply the CopAlum treatment to all of our outlets, switches, lights, and fans that had the original aluminum wiring, inspected and replaced all older outlets, grounded our house, and installed a whole house surge protector, all in two days! They were professional, efficient, expedient, and careful throughout the entire process, and didn't mind me asking a bunch of questions along the way. After having a couple of our aluminum outlets burn and smoke (and find out that a couple of our others had burned sometime in the past, as well), it is a huge relief to feel safe from the unnecessary risk of aluminum connections. read more

This company and its owner, Perry Leitner accomplished a small miracle at my house this afternoon. After coming home from a weekend trip a week ago to a tripped alarm, no air conditioning and our major appliances browning out, it was determined that the problem was in one "leg" of the underground power wire coming into my meter. Despite the fact that Duke power was a no-call no-show (in the 2-hour window they gave us) to turn off the power at the box located in my neighbor's yard, Perry and his crew got right to work locating and repairing the problem. It turns out that the leg in question had no fewer than 6 breaks and the other functioning leg had two nicks that would have eventually caused problems down the road. After a week of no AC, no hot water and a convoluted spider web of extension cords connecting our refrigerators and freezers to the working leg of power-we are all set and on my husband's birthday! Incidentally, I am in no way related to Perry, nor do any of my relatives work for any of his companies or competing companies. Amazing work and professionalism. After calling multiple electricians nearby, and all of them except for Leitner were unable to answer my questions about COPLUM and ALUMICONN repairs for aluminum wiring (they wanted to use purple wire nuts), we were beginning to worry that the electrical work on our new house would not get completed the way we wanted in the time we needed it done. I called Perry and after talking to him briefly he showed up no more than 30 minutes later with a box to show the dangers of aluminum and purple wire nuts and had great answers to all my questions. He walked the entire house with me making note of issues and things we would need to have fixed. We got an estimate drawn up and a week later him and his crew were here and had the project finished in 3 days. I couldn't be more satisfied with the work they performed here. Just had them out to replace a loose breaker box block that Duke told me last fall that needed replacing. The guy they sent was old, slow, jiggled the meter and made all my electric go out without warning me (my computer was on), then almost dropped the meter when taking it out - he yelps it's loose! I said I know that's why I called you out here!!!! Then drops his tools behind a big box in my garage, takes the whole breaker thing apart and then says he has to call his boss so he sits in the van for 10 minutes smoking a cigarette!! Then my heater started making weird clicking noises inside and out, my phones would not work and when I pointed this out to him he said well you've got a power problem. Thank you Captain Obvious!! He then starts in on how they have to replace the whole box, needs inspections, etc. etc. $1600 not including labor. What a rip-off. I thought they were supposed to be reasonable. I called the company and said I wanted a different man to come out but then they boss started sticking up for this guy and wouldn't even listen to me. Told him I wouldn't pay because his guy caused more problems than I had originally!!!! The guy got mad cause I questioned him and left with the heater still off and clicking!! I flicked the breaker back and forth and got it working!! Gee, I must be a better electrician than this guy! I must have gotten the "Melvin" in this company. Am calling someone else!! Not one, but two large tree limbs fell on a windless night, and took out our power line. Duke wouldn't fix it till repairs were made on our end. LEITNER came out the next morning first thing, repaired the damage, called Duke, and within 3 hours we had power back. What stands out to us is how professional and knowledgeable they were. Perry, the owner, stopped by to check on everything, and make sure his guys had everything they needed. What a great guy, we had an informative and in depth conversation with him about our other electrical needs, and he couldn't have been more helpful. We contacted Perry & Leitner Electric a couple weeks ago when our selling realtor said we need to 'fix the aluminum' in our early 70's house. We first spoke with a few licensed electricians who wanted to use 'the purple connector copper pig tail' for each connection, but after considerable research became convinced that Copalum connectors were the best solution, and maybe the only safe solution. Definitely the solution to best maintain home value. There seem to be only a small handful of Copalum certified firms in the area, and we priced 2 others. Leitner's pricing was competitive, but more importantly to us is that Leitner was much more flexible in working with our crazy schedule (juggling remodeling, electrical work and yard work) and tight time frame. We would also like to express how professional, knowledgeable and enjoyable the crew was during the job. At times they engaged me to help me understand the process they were using, were considerate of the freshly painted and remodeled sections and took great care on our freshly restained wood flooring. We're purchasing a townhouse that is a diy nightmare gone terribly wrong. Terrible outfit. We hired this man and his company to install two Solatube solar lighting tubes in our roof. He did not know what he was doing and did not install them properly. I had to contact the BBB and file a letter of complaint to get any action. I eventually got the problems fixed by an excellent outfit that is, indeed, and expert Solatube installer. I lost power on a Friday morning and had Duke come out, they said it was because moisture had been getting into my breaker box which was a huge fire hazard so they shut my power off. So, I started calling every electrician I knew and no one could come out same day (let alone on a Friday) so I started googling local electricians and started making calls, again no one I spoke with could make it out in such short noticed. Finally came to Leitner Electric - I spoke with Perry Leitner he told me there was no way this work could be done that day unless I wanted to pay 3 times the cost for an inspection alone - he came right out to assess and estimate the work. He was super helpful - because I was going to be without power until Tuesday he went and got me a generator had it filled with gas, and brought power cords in case I didn't have any. He called me multiple times over the weekend to check on me. His team was out first Monday morning worked until mid-afternoon in the pouring rain until their work was finished. The work passed inspection and I had power back on Tuesday afternoon. I highly recommend Leitner Electric Co. I have never been in a situation like this but, Perry really guided me through and went above and beyond to make those 5 days as comfortable as possible for me and my dog. read more

I had a terrible experience with this company and its owner, Perry Leitner. This outfit installed 2 Solatube skylights in my home three years ago. For the last 3 years I have been trying to get Leitner to correct their shoddy/improper work. I finally had to file a complaint with the BBB to get some action. Leitner finally gave up and sent in a true professional outfit who knew what they were doing, First Day Natural Lighting, to correctly install the skylights (they literally had to dis-assemble and then re-assemble and re-install the tubing...a 3-day job. Leitner was slow to repay First Day for their labor and still refuses to reimburse me for the travel costs and material costs that First Day incurred and billed me for. I suggest you take your business elsewhere. I have serious questions about the integrity and professionalism of Leitner Electric Co. and its other divisions like Blue Chip Wind and Solar. read more
