We've had ADT since the fall of 2014 when we purchased our home. The installation went well and the…read moreinstallation technician was very imformative. In 2015-2016 we experienced problems with one of the window sensors and the alarm kept going off. While I am relieved that the multiple "alarm activation" notifications were false, it was very disconcerting to get these at work. (The alarm would be triggered by high wind rattling the window.) This continued off/on for about 6 months and we had to keep calling to get satisfaction. They would come and adjust, but it would reoccur. We had to demand that the problematic sensor be replaced, and they did this. Security cameras could not be added with the initial installation due to the density of our outside walls. Early 2019 we have experienced some break-ins in the neighborhood and wanted to try security cameras again. We hoped that maybe new/improved technology would make this possible. Sadly, the same problem persists. But... I have to credit the technition for doing hes very best to make it happen. Overall, we are satisfied with ADT and would choose them again. Due to their being lax and having to push them to make good on the window sensor, I am giving 4 stars. The phone app is great but very slow to connect.

I am appalled at the lack of customer service that continues with ADT. While they have raised…read moretheir rates to where I now pay over $75.00 per month for this service and yet, they do not service the equipment. They get away with this by saying that I have purchased their equipment, so when it fails (and those crappy window sensors do not last), then I have to pay for the replacement at over $60.00 for 1 (I have 9 of them), and if I want a technician to install it for me, that is another $150.00+ for a service call. It makes me sad, but at this point, I'm pretty much stuck while still under contract. Heck, I still am paying on the initial equipment installed four years ago. I think ADT has a responsibility to pay for their equipment as long as I pay for their service. Or at least, share a portion of the cost. If they had charged me, say $25.00 for a new window sensor, I would not have hesitated. I think they know these window sensors are finicky and some work better than others. As I said, I have 9 of them, but 3 have been faulty. The first two stopped working within the first month after installation, and I had to throw a fit, make multiple phone calls, and spend hours of my time to get them replaced without being charged. When I say they stop working, they drain the battery. So, I replace the battery, and then the sensor drains the new one. I have already used about 15 batteries to keep the blasted system from going into error mode (which is super annoying with the alarm going off constantly to tell me the battery is low). It can't be that costly to them to send out a technician to replace these faulty sensors without putting all of the financial burden on my shoulders. ADT, you need to do better!
