Also known as Leigh Laundry…read more Dropped 2 large bags of bedding to be washed and dried this week. Picked up last night, 29th June 2018. When we got home we emptied the 2 black bags and all my bedding was a mess. The smell was as if they hadn't been washed and put straight into a tumble dryer. I knew they had been in a tumble dryer as they looked as if they had been left in too long and then scrunched up and put into the bin bag without trying to fold anything. Im awaiting a call back but as I asked for the owner, he is conveniently on holiday for 2 weeks and they don't have a manager. What a disgrace and won't be back.

However, after getting my last batch back I noticed the clothes were leaving my skin itchy and irritated. I'm not sure whether they switched some of the cleaning products they use, whether I am developing some sort of allergy to what they have been using, or - in their defense- whether I am allergic to something else and simply attributing it to my recently returned clothes. I truly loved these cleaners so am definitely going to go back and hope its just some fluke.

The dry cleaners has a nice service, the guy behind the counter knows the stuff inside out and can brim your pockets with change if you've got the dollar. For the 4 pounds mark you can probably wash your entire wardrobe (girls this may not apply) and they've got tons of dryers for sorting through afterwards. Word to the wise check closing time, it'll cost you a pound to recover your washed knickers if you left them their overnight.

In all seriousness though, this laundrette is really very different to all the others, it really offers something special. Not really, I'm just being silly, its normal. You can only ask for two things from a laundrette. One, that is smells like all fluffy and downy like babies. Two, that it delivers no nasty surprises. Atlas Laundrette delivers on both accounts. There's no nasty bill you weren't expecting, as its about four quid per wash. Never do you have to pay for two washes as no matter how many clothes you own (girls) it will all fit in their ridiculously big washing machines. Also, crucially, your clothes will come out clean and dry at the end of your visit. Finally, if you're like me and don't like the idea of sitting in a dry cleaners for hours, they offer a service where you can leave it and they'll wash it for you. Even this is relatively cheap, and it all comes back perfectly folded and ordered, just like you still lived with your mum. Done. Not too silly was it?

It was beautiful cream Ralph Lauren blazer, got it back competently different color, with lots of marks on it!!!!!!!!!!!!! completely devastated, complied straight away , being told back to send it back again to 3rd cleaning which of course I did not do- my blazer is damaged enough. Prying now that Timpsons will be able to get rid of some of the marks so would be able at least to wear it again :(

Soap Opera is a dry cleaners in Alkrington, next Alkrington Barbers and Best One newsagents, just off and viewable from the main road, hence on a bus route where one comes basically every few minutes, due to it being the way to Manchester from Middleton bus station (just down the road) The store is actually quite small, and you can not wash things yourself and wait, they do it for you. I would say this is a bad thing as you can't waltz in with your favourite bedding (you can't fit in your washer) and walk back out, the same day with it, you have to wait some time, often a few days for them to do it. I really do not like this. It is quite pricey here due to the service they provide, (doing it themselves) and if I remember it cost £12 for one small (ish [ but still couldn't fit in my washer ] blanket, which is quite pricey but they simply add it on because they are doing it - which is not optional. The only reason I keep coming back is the location and due to the price and the service meaning you can't do it yourself, and it simply not being the nicest of shops due to its' design and the till blocking most of the shop, I can only give 2 stars.

I was struggling to find anyone who would take on the challenge of cleaning my Anny Lin wedding dress due to the size of it and the beading detail. Luckily village dry cleaners were recommend to me. Not only did they do a fantastic job cleaning my dress and making it look new again they put me in touch with a box company who provided special handmade boxes that help to store your dress. Amir and his team kindly packed my dress in a box which was then presented to me beautifully. Thank you so much again for all your wonderful help. Olivia x

I took my wedding dress here after a lot of recommendations from family/friends and even online…read morereviews. I got married in March 2015 and I left it a good 9 months before even thinking about getting my dress cleaned. My dress was absolutely filthy and had so many layers and detail too it, I was worried the stains wouldn't come out. Amir was very friendly and advised me that some of the stains may be difficult to remove. I was confident he knew what he was talking about and he took the time to go through the cleaning process with me. He never once pushed any prices/extra things onto me. Within a week or so I got a call to say my dress was ready to collect at anytime. Amir again took the time to show me my dress, it looked as good as new. All stains had been removed and I was amazed by the great care he'd taken. I would highly recommend Village Dry Cleaners, they took great care in looking after and cleaning my dress, talking me through the process. They were also one of the cheapest companies I'd received quotes from. Definitely worth every penny and very friendly to top it off! Thank you Amir & staff.
