Parking is not great around here but I tend to just pull onto the pavement outside and I have never had a problem. Don,t leave it too long though as the wardens do operate around here

When we moved to the area we were regulars at The Steamie and sometimes we were taking 3 or 4 bags of laudry over. For those 3 or 4 bags we were charged just £10.70, admittedly we provided our own powder and softner but even so this was a very good price. Don't forget that includes drying and you are not having to sit there doing it all yourself. You can of course do it all by yourself and The Steamie has numerous washers and dryers to accomodate all. There is a drinks machine for those who are staying for any length of time. Whats more is that The Steamie also offers an ironing service and they quoted us £11 for 30 garments. Again this is most reasonable in my opinion. I have only ever seen one girl in there but she has always been nice and pleasant whenever i have spoken to her. I even think that The Steamie delivers your washing/drying/ironing!!

There are benches to sit on if you want to wait while your washing is done and plaenty of newspapers and magazines to read. They also offer service washes where you can leave your washing to be done for you and pick up the next day. Good competitive prices and nice friendly staff.

They never once let me down either -- if they said a job would be ready at 5pm on Tuesday (or whatever), it was ready at 5pm on Tuesday! The prices were seemed slightly on the high side but then dry cleaning always is, I suppose. Certainly the prices weren't outrageous. The one downside was that there was no parking nearby -- I was often forced to park half-way up Captains Clough Road and carry the cleaning to the shop, which could be awkward. But all in all, an excellent facility for the local community.

Its actually a pretty good one (despite the fact that someone has graffitied GRIM on the side of the shop, see my photos). As you enter you probably won't notice that you're being greeted by a lovely chappy as you'll be distracted by a lovely warm fuzzy feeling as the smell of hot steamy cotton fills your head. They offer dry cleaning and ironing services, and are cheaper than almost everywhere else I've used (with no repercussions for the cleanliness of your clothes). There's also no other similar services in the area, so you haven't even got a choice. Strangely, they also advertise a load of music and local events, so if you're about to host a gig or comedy night, and want to attract a clientele with really clean clothes, ask if you can put a poster up here!

I had everything back within 24hrs no marks smelling great and very well pressed. Just shows how different companies can be!! I have used them again this week they collected from me at 630pm and re delivered the next evening after 7pm. I can't recommend enough Thank you so much. Ruth
