As a customer of 13 years I have always purchased my pool supplies from Leisure Living. I have always had good quality and good service and may have paid more but they were worth it and we like to support American businesses. That changed recently. I ordered a double-drain kit and a skimmer as we are replacing our liner. I was 2 days past the discounted pricing but the sales rep overrode that and we agreed to the discounted pricing. When I was billed there was a $40 difference I reached out to the customer service department through email and requested a price adjustment based on the agreed to amount. They responded with a no. I called, same thing. Sad to say the credit could have been applied to some maintenance supplies, but they have now lost that order and any future orders we had planned for years to come. (We need a new $800 winter cover this year that we were planning to order from them). My advice: Amazon can offer same items at cheaper rates and free shipping and maybe reward points. I've recently purchased a solar cover online via "solarcover.com", long behold, the website then redirected to leisure living located in Tonawanda NY. I've placed an order for "clear diamond" cover, what came in through the mail doesn't look "diamond" at all. In additionally, I've ordered the wrong size. Now, a decent company would allow a return or exchange for a correct size. Not this place. I spoke to the supervisor and was told that once it's open on the water, it no long qualify for a return nor exchange. Gee, Thanks a lot! I only wish now that you had specified this fine print policy on your return website as well instead of wasting my time talking to you. Do NOT buy anything from this company! I purchased a solar cover for my parents' pool and unfortunately they need to return it. My parents have NOT OPENED the box and the company was claiming a 20% restocking fee! My parents "bargained", if that's even an appropriate thing for a customer to do, the restocking fee to 10% but there should NOT be a re-stocking fee for items that are still unopened and can be sent to the next customer without any problem! Again, don't buy from them. They have zero customer service and charge re-stocking fees for gifts to people. That's very low in my humble opinion. read more

I purchased online swimming pool cover solar blanket with 10 year warranty 3 years ago with the intention of covering the pool at least 10 years, under the warranty term. The cost was $164.99 Unfortunately, the cover is crashing in small pieces already, it is ripping where the pieces glued together (like stitches), millions of small pieces peeling off the bubbles and floating the pool and clogging the filtration system. I contacted the company LeisureLiving, provided Hi Resolution pictures as a proof, and asked for a warranty replacement or a refund. The answer i got is that it is covered by the warranty and I have to pay almost the full amount of the purchase price to get the replacement, just as I was to buy a brand new cover. The cost is $135.73 and I'm responsible for paying it. What is the warranty for then, 10 years hah? read more

I purchased an above ground pool liner from SwimmingPoolLiners.com and found a hole in the bottom while the liner was being installed. Don't be fooled by the pretty website and the smiling faces. This is a shady business as mentioned in all of the other reviews. You may save a few bucks on your order, but you will certainly pay in the end. It doesn't matter if they have a 2-year, 10-year or 25-year warranty, they don't honor it. I purchased 2 solar covers for my pool this summer. After about a month of use, one melted/deteriorated while stored leaving about a 2x2 ft whole in the middle. I ordered a 12 ml clear cover and received what looks like a 5 ml dark blue cover. The customer service credited my account for 35$ - the difference they said - between the 12 ml I ordered and the 5 ml I received but refused to return it or replace with the correct item. The customer service, when I asked for a manager, then claimed to be the manager and challenged me to report them to the BBB. They felt their management of my concern was appropriate, I do not. I asked to mail them a portion of the material so they could see. I sent them photos. I too would give it negative stars if I could! I ordered a pool cover for my above ground pool and expected it to be shipped out within 1-2 business days as their website states. I called them after 3 days and was told it should go out that day and I would receive a tracking email. 4 days after that I called again and was told then it was to go out that day and I should receive a tracking email within 24 hours. (so it took a week at least to get it out). This company is the hardest to get a hold of. You sit on hold FOREVER if you're actually able to get through the constant busy signal. I bought an 8 year Winter pool cover three years ago after the first year they replaced it because it was falling apart rips all over it and rotten, the new one they sent lasted all of one day when I covered my pool it's split at the seam so they replaced it three or four weeks later the 3rd one started ripping in several places but I left it through the winter when I uncovered my pool this year the cover fell apart and shredded all the pieces and now they tell me it's not covered by warranty because it wasn't a manufacturers defect.. they say it was my fault I guess I somehow caused the cover Barat out in the winter I don't know but it had holes in it in the piece I saved you can pull a part with two fingers . I would not buy a pool cover or anything else from this company the first two they were nice about replacing and I wasn't going to make a big fuss but after reading the reviews on this site it's obvious they don't make a quality product I bought a cover at the Pool Place before i found them online and it lasted 6 years for about the same price I do not recommend Leisure Living for anybody wanting to buy anything read more

i ordered a bottle of spa cleaner. When I got the product and checked the label, it was nothing more than a bottle of Clorox bleach with their label on it. I was upset that I just paid $50 a gallon for Clorox. When I called them I was told they could not accept returns on chemicals that were shipped back. As fate would have it I had to work in Niagara Falls a few weeks later so I was able to take it back in person. They refunded my money but I too was stuck with the 20% restocking fee. read more

Well folks, seems like all I do is run into company's that sell products and pool parts, chemicals, and solar cover's, and when you buy a 16-Mil Crystal Clear pool solar cover, 16 ft/ 32 ft in size, and the warranty says 10 year warranty, and 3 year full warranty, for a $159.99 when I bought it, and you cannot even get a full 3 years of use out of it, and send in part of the pool solar cover to the Company, because its falling apart, and they tell you, you live where its awful hot, and the cover is supposed to be the BEST THEY SELL, and you still have 4 good months of the the full warranty left, to cover the 3- year full warranty, and they offer you a 10 % discount on a new solar cover, these are the Company's I do not want to do business with any more. You can look at there book, and they have no problem telling you your solar cover is under warranty for full price for 3- years, and when you cut of a piece and send it into them, they tell you you live so close to Death Valley, and the heat ruins the solar cover, they do not say that to you when you order the BEST SOLAR COVER-CRYSTAL CLEAT-16 MIL, then every thing is ok, some sales person just made a sell, and got a credit, for the sell.. I am glad there is a web site called YELP, for people to vent, we never did any pool swimming in the heat of the day, to hot, and to much risk for cancer of the skin, so we would roll the cover back at night time, and swim when it was dark, the water warm, the chemicals right on the button, and no one wants to cover there warranty which is in the book, of items for sale. To me its sad to know these Company's do not even warranty there own product, and by the time you cut a 12 inch by 12 inch peace out, and send it to them, they do not even send you over to the warranty dept., or tech support, your 4 months of full warranty is out the door, down the toilet, and would be glad to sell you a nother one for a big discount of 10 % off retail price, how nice of them. Horrible horrible horrible products. We bought a solar cover through Ebay, which came from Leisure Living. It is 18'x36' clear 12mil. $106. with free shipping. It came packaged in a cheap plastic bag, with no protective cover, which they require you to use to keep your warranty. Luckily we had one left from the last cover, so we reused it. It had the warranty registration card from a company called Midwest Canvas Corp. We sent in the registration card. It has a 6 year warranty, first two years being full free replacement. Customer to pay shipping and handling fee. The cover we received was sooooo thin we were afraid to handle it to much for fear of ripping. I sent them an email questioning the thickness and got no answer. Well it has been on the pool for 6 months and is disintegrating into tiny white particles. It has lost hundreds of bubbles and as the warranty covers the seams are splitting and cracking also. Cheap JUNK! I call the warranty card co. given to us Midwest Canvas and were told to call Leisure Living. We upload photo's to them and were told we are accepted for Warranty replacement, but need to send them a 12" piece of the cover plus $63 to cover shipping, handling, and LARGE PACKAGE FEES! They don't go by the original warranty given out with their product. They are adding extra fees. Why would I pay out $63 for another cheap piece of crap. I can' believe how shady this company is. Two years ago I ordered a pool cover with a 8 year warranty. The cover fell apart. I called and they said it was covered and would be prorated at 50%. OK. Fine with me. When it can to getting the product it was going to cost me about $30.00 More than buying it new. They were adding on all these extra charges. If they told me up front I would not be so upset. It wasn't until I questioned the cost did he explain all the added charges. I called customer service and was told that is the way it is and that it wasn't explained correctly by the sales person. That is funny because 2 people forgot to explain all the extra charges. I ordered a solar cover for our pool and was told that it would go out that day since we ordered so early in the day. 3 weeks later I call and some guy there said he would check on it and call me back. WHich of course never did. The following week - one month after I ordered I called again and spoke to a woman who apologized using the excuse new system blah blah. But no solar cover. She said that it showed I had been charged and I asked her if that was legal to take someone's money and provide no product and then no communication. To bad I cant give this company no stars or below. I really feel ripped off and like to warn everyone. I purchased June 15. 2013 a 12 mil 16 X 36 clear diamond solar cover with a 6 year prorated warranty for $134.99 including shipping to Michigan . Now just 2 years later it is totally disintegrating. the seams are ripping, most diamond bubbles are flaking off and it tears whenever i touch it I emailed and called and was told they would honer the warranty and my prorated cost wold ONLY be $117.83 total replacement cost. That is $17.16 different from the purchase price after 2 years. I also was offered to purchase a new cover with a 15 % discount actually a better deal, After requesting a warranty sheet it showed that 12 mill cover had a 2 year full replacement warranty but when I asked about it I was told that my particular cover has only a 1 year warranty. I will never deal with these people again. Just to show that I know what I am doing when it comes to solar covers: I have had my pool for 34 years and always used solar blankets, use a reel and I am very careful to make them last a long time. The company refused a refund, but gave me an in-store credit. (As if I'd do any further business with them.) Very good experience. New pool liner arrived as ordered and on time. Tracking number worked well. New gaskets for inlet and skimmer were included and instruction on how to install them. After reading only negative reviews I had been concerned. But it just shows that only the unsatisfied write reviews. My experience was great. I would give this company a MINUS 10 if that were possible. They were EXTREMELY unprofessional, did not honor any statements they initially claimed, and transferred me from department to department via phone, in attempts to not deal with the problem at hand. Furthermore, their products are NOT easy to install (specifically, their automatic pool reel). I bought the pool reel after being reassured that it would be "easy for me to install". After I was unable to install it myself, I called a professional pool person- he was not able to install it either. Thus, I returned it, then was slapped with a restocking fee (after being told I would be given the full refund amount given the inability to install their complicated pool reel was out of my control). I called several times, and they did not honor their initial claims that I would be refunded their full amount. Specifically, I spoke with Judy Bzibziak (customer service employee), Gary Williams (technical consultant), and Linda Owen (General Manager and who actually hung up the phone on me). Wow. I'd give these guys no stars if I can however fortunate for them, Yelp doesn't allow it. I ordered a pool cover and a reel back in March. About 2 weeks later, I receive the cover. I assumed the reel was trailing shipment as it might have been more costly to ship. I wait about a week then follow up with a call. A customer service rep said it's on back order and I'll be about a month before it's received, if it's received. I told the rep I would wait a month then cancel should it not come. I then followed up with them a month later and a rep then said, they'll be getting it and she'll try and redirect one to me so I don't have to wait. I finally received the reel literally about a month and a half later. I then go through the instructions to assemble it. To my dismay, the hardware and parts were not in the box. I called the rep and in pieces, I received 2 of the 3 bags. I just checked my order date, 3 months into this purchase and I am still waiting on parts. If I had known better that this was going to be piecemeal-ed, I would have ordered it last summer. I would have definitely sent it back but I had already cut the cover into place. do not buy any large equipment from here, you will be screwed. i purchased a pool pump and when it did not fit., i called customer service and they issued me a refund minus 20 percent stocking fee, and i had to pay to ship it back. i accepted this and was out over 100 dollars, then they said the pump was used and resent it to me and did not credit back the money they said they would. buyer beware, when i tried to talk to them they basically said too bad. so not only am i out the original 180.00 plus the reshipping fee of 60.00. i have the wrong pump, they are not going to help you. i strongly advise not to buy from this company. by the way, the pump was not a used pump, we tried to attach it once and when it did not fit or work, we called customer service and put it back in the box to ship. read more

I bought a 12×20 pool. The gentleman on the phone contacted me and said the pool would be shipped out 4 days later that was great. In the mean time they deducted the amount out of my account. Alls good. Thursday the day of shipment they credited my account the money taken for the pool. I called the office the woman couldn't give me an answer of why and told me she would call me back the next day. Never did. I called again and went to a recording three times. At that point they credited my account again. I tried calling and got no results after all its not my money. The next day they deducted the amount again. Great were even no harm done. If I could give them less than 1 star I would and I wish I had found this site 3 years ago !! I bought a solar cover in June of 2013 that supposedly had a 10 year warranty. This summer the cover literally disintegrated into the pool. I was constantly scooping out pieces of the "bubbles" every time I got in the pool and they started to clog the basket in my pump. When I contacted them and sent them pictures of the cover laying all over the top of the pool, they said that it wasn't covered for that under the warranty. The only thing that was covered was if the seam came apart or if the "layers" of the cover de-laminated. Really ?????? Disintegrating isn't covered because it's not faulty workmanship? What about faulty materials ??? I paid more money for this cover because of the longer warranty and now the best they can do is offer me 15% off of a new cover ? Oh .... and that's not 15% off of their current sale price .... it's only off of the regular price which means I could get it cheaper by just buying it on sale !! I asked them why they thought that I would buy another cover from them after what happened to mine and the lack of any real warranty coverage and they never returned my email. I to had a problem with a solar cover. We have an L shaped pool so we have to order two blankets in order to cover the whole pool, so it's not cheap. First ordered two blankets in 2012. Had to replace after only 2 years (of their 7 yr warranty) for falling apart. They begrudgingly gave us a discount on the next order. Ordered 2 new blankets in 2015 (12 mil). One blanket we have to order is 18 x 40 (and we have to trim it since our pool is 16' wide). The blanket has 4 different strips pieced together to make up the width which is fine; however, they made every other strip 8 mil. I guess they didn't think we would notice but it was obvious. They gave us a partial refund for the difference. As if I haven't learned my lesson yet, I ordered a solar cover reel from them this year. First, did not tell me it would come in two different shipments. One came in about 2-3 days (as it was supposed to); the poles took 2 weeks. According to the tracking, it went all the way from NY to CA and then back to KY where I am. Reel says it is for a 16' blanket, but it is not. We had to adjust the poles and the 3" pole is not very strong for our size blanket. Sags somewhat in the center. I'm hoping I have the good sense after all this to remember next year NOT to order from them!! read more

Definately would never buy from this company again. Bought their SUPREME WINTER COVER, thinking it would be a quality item because of the 15 year warranty. First, they sent me a different color cover than what I ordered. When I first opened the package, I found the cover to be very thin and flimsy, but thought with a 15 year warranty, it must be some very strong material. I quickly found out it was not. The webbing on the cover started seperating and developed holes the very first winter it was used. They replaced it under warranty, although I did have to pay shipping charges for the replacement cover. The second cover lasted less than two seasons before it developed the same problems. When I contacted Leisure Living and sent them pictures of the cover failure, they told me it was not covered under warranty because it did not come apart at a seam. The warranty that I received with the cover does not say anything about covering holes or webbing seperations only at seams. I feel the warranty is WORTHLESS and is only offered for such a high amount of years to make you think it is a quality cover which I feel it DEFINATELY IS NOT! read more
