They extracted the glass from the frame and dismantled the window frame by frame until they got to the broken pane of glass. When I picked up the repaired hutch window, I could not even tell where the repair had been done. The repaired section and all the intricate metal framing and solder looked aged perfectly to the remainder of the window. They are artists and really nice people.

He will tell you what you should have done, what you could get away with, and the minimum that can be done to make the piece look nice. For example, I have a teak dining room table that was dried out and not appealing at all. I decided it would be cheaper to have it refinished. I called and got a quote from Arturo, he said he picks up and delivers as part of the quote. When he came to the house I told him I was on a very tight budget. He talked me through my options and we settled on only resurfacing the top of the table. During his visit I also showed him a teak dresser that had a broken drawer hinge. He offered to take that back with him to see if he could fix it for me...for $20. I also had a teak cabinet I had tried to fix hinges on myself and screwed a screw that was too long through the side and it came out the other end...the doors were on crooked and the stability of the cabinet was weak. Arturo said he could fix the doors easily (he didn't realize how unstable the cabinet was before taking it). I ended up getting a very reasonable quote and though my furniture was in poor shape that I considered parking on the street corner, he cautiously took great care in disassembling pieces and moving the furniture to his truck. I was really impressed by his grace when handling my furniture. He returned my furniture when he said he would, the price was exactly what he quoted, and the pieces were beautiful. He also took it upon himself, no charge to me, to reinforce the cabinet that was dreadfully lopsided. The table was beautiful and not noticeable that only the top was refinished, the cabinet you could never tell had a screw through the side and the doors were secure and even. Arturo was unable to find a match to the hinges for my drawer and he offered to try to fix it from my house. He assured me that the drawer would function, but that it would not be like the other drawers because he was unable to locate and order the correct hinge. I said anything is better than not have a drawer in the dresser...that's fine. He fixed it, it works fine, and as he told me, the drawer is not as smooth moving as the others, but, it still looks good to me and it functions when before it did not. Arturo's work is completely professional. He is serving you and wants to make you happy whether you want perfection or just the top of a table refinished, he will work with you fairly and with the utmost integrity. It's not about making a buck...it's about developing a customer relationship. I HIGHLY recommend D&D Restoration and Repair to anyone needing handy work or refinishing. He specializes in refinishing antique furniture and can show you examples of his work that he takes so much pride in completing. He also tries to be as efficient as possible as he is only one person. I reached out to fill in some holes that longhorn beetles that were already infested in the…read morefurniture ate its way through. There were 2 holes about the size of a pinky and the cavity is about the size that could fit my thumb up to its nailbed. I reached out to a few folks and got quotes. Given my prior positive experience, I reached out to Mauricio to see if this could be done. I also noticed 2 holes that I'm not sure if it was there when I first got the furniture or if something else bore out. These were about the size of a dull pencil tip but on the underside of the furniture. Mauricio was extremely patient with me upon getting the details as I was considering getting a second opinion from some local exterminators on the risk of another emergence. Eventually, I figured out some details and booked an appointment. Everything was quickly scheduled with Edgar who arrived on time promptly and quickly went to work fixing the 4 holes. By the time it was finished, I could only vaguely guess where the holes were. To someone who didn't know about the holes, it would look almost natural. All in all, this took roughly an hour or so to complete. Edgar was sure to clean up after himself and laid out some paper padding to capture any mess left behind and prevent it from touching the floor. Overall, I was happy with the price and quality of work done.
