Build-A-Bear Workshop - Brushing and drying her bear

What a nice store! They had a $5 bear special and for every bear you buy they donate one to toys…read morefor tots today so I brought my daughter in, she really enjoyed herself! The people that work there must deal all day with unbearable kids and parents and they are still absolutely lovely! They still have the washing and drying station here, they took that out at Menlo, so I was happy to see that. All together she got to fill the bear, add the heart, do a special little thing to put the heart in, got a frozen Elsa outfit and a birth certificate and a box and kill an hour for $25 that's pretty cheap as far as kids are concerned. I mean you get in the car sometimes and you just know you can throw away $100 lol. Great time!

There are no words to describe the humiliation and disgust that my sister and nephew experienced…read moretoday at the freehold build-a-bear location. I am appalled at the staff at this store and their lack of empathy and compassion and general education when it comes to providing customer service to a young 4 year old boy with a medical condition. My sister, her daughter and babysitter were all wearing masks upon entry--except for her young son who has a brain injury. Upon entering the store my sister was asked to put a mask on her son. My sister explained that he has a brain injury and does not wear a mask because of this. Your associate responded that my nephew is unable to enter unless he is wearing a mask. This associate also stated that her "manager at this build a bear location has asthma but wears a mask and comes to work everyday". The clear lack of humanity that was displayed today was disgusting ESPECIALLY from a company whose mission statement is "to empower kids of all ages to express themselves in a safe, warm space through services, experiences and, of course, furry friends!". I hope this associate receives the immediate training she is clearly lacking when it comes to interacting with the human race. Myself and my family will no longer be patrons of this or any other Build-a-bear location and will advise our community to do the same.
