I purchased bags of several flavors here, but I realized it's just not my thing. However, I can appreciate how other people may enjoy the concept of uniquely flavored popcorn, so I'm not giving this place a low star ranking. If I had to pick, I'd probably recommend the loaded baked potato flavored popcorn, but if a flavor sounds appealing to you, then you'll probably enjoy it. Apparently, from reading other reviews, you can ask for samples of popcorn here, but I didn't know that when I was at the store. This was my first time trying Legends Popcorn, and it was such a great experience! The young boy at the counter was super helpful and even let me try some samples. So I was wondering, how do you do enough volume in popcorn to make enough money to pay the rent and still land a profit? Well you make damn good popcorn, that's how! The carmel popcorn was awesome, the bacon pizza was the best and the hot buffalo and the cheese were pretty good too. This is the kind of treat that you start eating, tell yourself this is the last taste... and then before you know it, the entire bag has been devoured. Best part is that you get a sample the flavors just like at the ice cream store. We loved the popcorn so much we came back for a third bag right after we walked out the door. I can't stop eating the candy cinnamon popcorn!! Literally addictive! I could forsake all other sweets!! Popcorn is gluten free so..... I can get away with calling this my go to treat. Shoutout to Maggie who hooked me up with their delicious popcorn!! She is as sweet as my popcorn! She even told me about a few others I would like. Plus you can sample them. But I did not get distracted!!! I wanted my Precious!!! So the reason why I love this is very Nostalgic! The only place I could find this flavor was back in my hometown St Joseph, Missouri... at Topsy's in the mall...so whenever I visited my folks, I would get a bag to share with them and a bag to take home... only trying not to eat half the bag on the plane!!! So when I tried to learn how to make it from scratch I wisely opted not to!!! Hot liquid sugar lava and my expert level clumsiness means NO WAY!!! I visit from Phoenix a couple times a year and Legends is always a stop. Super-great popcorn. But what I think is even better than the popcorn are the young people that work there. The 'kids' there are so nice. I'm old, so to me they're kids. They have always be so nice and very respectful. It's nice to see young people who have been raised well. Delicious fresh tasting popcorn in all the flavors! Pickle was nice and tart. Caramel was crisp and didn't have too heavy of a coating so it doesn't stick to your teeth. Cheese was cheesy but you could still taste the corn. Kettle corn is the best nice and salty with a hint of sweet. Will drive farther from my house to go to this pop corn store over the one closer to my house on Preston because the service is by far superior and the popcorn is better. Friendly owner! I told him I was looking for healthy options and he assured me all popcorn is healthy. He's funny. I really liked the extra buttery caramel. The original butter was just ok (not as fresh as I had hoped). I'd recommend you try flavored options. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes (including the 5 minutes of chatting and perusing the menu), so service was fast. I thought the prices were very fair. We like to try all the popcorn places to shop local. Upon entering, we received a less than thrilled welcome. No hi, how are you. No, have you been here before? Nothing. We didn't receive a greeting at all. He just stood there and waited. The first taste of the buttery popcorn garnered the response of "this taste like stale popcorn". The first taste of the Oreo popcorn received a "this tastes like nothing". Definitely not the best popcorn we've ever had. The Oreo popcorn barely had any Oreos in it. It was mostly white with very few dark specs of Oreo. Really disappointing. Our favorite popcorn place remains Popcorn Junction in Denton. read more

I love a place that is family owned and it has character. This place screams a good old Texas store. I love how they had popcorn tins for different sports team and a lot of college teams which was a plus for us. They have popcorn that represents the school in Plano which gives it that hometown feel. OOH did I mention the popcorn is good also? They have over 70 flavors and you create your own if you would like. We purchased the Legends Popcorn, the Snicker Popcorn, The Chicago mix and our own concoction which was the Dallas Style mixed with a taco favor. Legends Popcorn also sells loose candy and bottled sodas which reminded me of a candy store when I was a kid. The customer service was friendly the lady helped us pick out flavors and gave us some great history on the store. We will be definitely going back. read more

Why hello, my new guilty pleasure! I could eat popcorn all day everyday- microwaved, gourmet, movie theater...they all have a place in my heart. So I'm so glad (and so in trouble) that I found this place on yelp because omg NOM. They have a plethora of flavors and sizes to choose from, so I figured I'd stay with the smallest size and just keep trying new flavors! So far I've tried Dallas style (yum) and White chocolate macadamia nut cookie dough (way too sweet for me). It's a cute shop that would be great to find something to gift to someone! There's a laminated menu with different popcorn options and pricing, and the menu has a brief description under each flavor category. if you want a visual for sizes offered, just look on the wall and you'll see the three bag sizes displayed. The employees will come and take your order, and then go to the back to the larger bins to scoop and bag your popcorn goodness. Make sure you ask for a sample of any flavor, the staff is not opposed to making sure you purchase what you like. I've ordered a few bags as gifts (including the popular Legend flavor, dill pickle, and jalapeno ranch). I tried a sample of the fried pickle and the sriracha and both were equally delicious. Had one kind of bad experience with the customer service recently, i had placed an order for two medium sized bags of popcorn one tons of butter, one the legend. As the girl was making my bags, another couple walks in and asks for a large bag of the legend popcorn, but they only had enough for one bag. I've never been to a gourmet popcorn shop before, and I'm not sure I'd do it again. The popcorn is pretty tasty, but oh so pricey. Service - 1/5 Oh my goodness. Service was SO unbelievably slow. We were only the second people in line but we waited almost 30 minutes to place our order. The couple in front of us only placed 3 orders too, but the person working the counter took SO long. I almost wanted to leave. Popcorn - 3/5 I got the Not So Thin Mint, and it was pretty good. The mint wasn't overpowering. The smallest bag was pricey at almost $5 though. It's definitely just an occasional treat. The other customers seem to really love it though. Other people placed multiple orders. Overall, I'm not really a popcorn enthusiast, so these popcorn shops aren't really my thing. It was still pretty tasty though. read more

I can't believe how amazing this place is. I stopped by one day after eating lunch near here and was just curious. There are so many wonderful flavors of popcorn whether you like chocolate(mixed with different candies like M&Ms or Butterfinger), fried pickle flavored or just regular cheddar cheese- they have it all. I ended up leaving with 3 different bags. I havent tried all the flavors but I cant wait to go back and continue on my quest to get every flavor. If nothing else- I can HIGHLY recommend the maverick if you have a sweet tooth. If you go in you can even sample some! They sell it in a wide array of sizes so you can get personal smaller bags, several medium sized bags ranging from 6-18 cups or big hefty bags of it. I also have received a gift that came in a custom made bucket with my college's logo on it from here. Between the popcorn and the bucket it was an awesome gift. I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes popcorn and delicious food in general to try out Legend's. Some of my favorites are the Chicago, Honey Barbecue and Not So Thin Mint. The Chicago mix is the perfect balance of salty cheddar and sweet caramel. The Honey Barbecue is sweet and zesty goodness. And the Not So Thin Mint is a delicious twist on the classic cookie. The staff is super helpful if you're feeling overwhelmed by all the choices. And they allow samples!
