Being from Chicago and used to going to different lounges and bars for different bands, I expected Nashville to be 10x's better considering it's known as "Music City".- I was RIGHT! Live music in Nashville has NOTHING on live music in Chicago. (Sorry Chicagoans.) The crowd both Fri & Sat when R and I went was SO much fun! You had your cowboys and cowgirls line-dancing, drinking super cheap beer and the band that night...OMG they were so good! They reminded R and I of Rascal Flatts. I really liked the layout and all the albums, posters and memorabilia around because it gave you something to look at while you danced around and mingled. The piano by the bathrooms is fun to take pictures by and everyone we talked to and met made going there a blast! The bar in the back (FYI) is (obviously) less crowded and they have a Blues Brothers statue! Had a lot of fun at Legends. The location is ideal set on a corner w/ a perfectly sized and located stage...in the corner. 75% of my positive experience was b/c the band was great - full of personality and talent - I wish I remembered their name! Although, they were essentially a cover band and still not a pure honky tonk band, they were much more entertaining then the semi-wedding bands I saw at other Broadway locations. The crowd seemed a bit better as well. Not the 50-60 yo set, sitting at tables drinking cokes at Roberts or the Bachelorette, B-day & girls night out drunks at Stage. I'm a big fan!!!! So far, my favorite stop on Broadway. We had a lively band of live music. I super duper enjoyed the music, the drinks, and the fun! There was line dancing friendly atmosphere and tons of fun. The bar is pretty long, so there's plenty of seating that allows for a view of the show. There's a second bar in the very back. Legends Corner is a fun bar located on Broadway, however it can get a little bit crowded at times. I stopped by twice while visiting Nashville and both times there were live bands playing on the small stage located in the front of the bar. There is an open area which was pretty crowded with people listening and drinking both nights, however there is an area up a few stairs near the back of the bar which was less crowded and even had its own bar. This is where I spent most of my time as it was easier to relax, while still hearing the music. Another plus is the side door, which makes entry much easier during peak times. The Broadway entrance can get backed up pretty quick on busy nights so the 5th street entrance usually had much lighter lines which made getting in much easier. I recommend a stop on your visit to Nashville, who knows you might see a rising legend before they become famous! read more

What can I say - this is one of my favorite Honky Tonks. The music is consistently good and well mixed. You can have a conversation while it's playing, which sometimes is key. The barstaff is the friendliest in town. I know if I try to list them all I'll miss someone, but Brooke, Kara, Casey, Nicole, Nikki, Tara, Mary Coul, Barbie, are awesome! There are two spots to see music - floor level and upper floor. Try for a seat in the upper level to see and hear great. It is mostly acoustic music in the morning until 2:15, then bands until 2-3AM. Tip both the bands and bartenders - that's the Nashville way, and how they earn a living. I went here on a weeknight, so it wasn't very crowded. The singer perform that night was pretty good. She had a beautiful voice. I decided to order dinner and a beer, and that was the worst thing I could have done. I ordered a beef malt. It came out ice cold, straight out of the freezer. I have been to legends corner a few times. This is the smaller less crowded version of the actual legends bar on the road. The bar is located off of Main Street and it does have two entrances. One entrance is on main street and the other is on the side street. There are two levels in the venue and upper level and a lower level. If you go into the main entrance you will be in on the first level. If you enter down the side street you will end up on the second level automatically. They do have bouncers at both doors and they will stamp you. I do prefer The upstairs over the downstairs. The bar is a lot less crowded you can actually have Conversation with the bartenders without having to scream at the top your lungs are point to what you want. There is a jukebox in a lot of really cool guitars on the wall. Legends corner is a good place to drink I've never gotten anything eat here but I have purchased a good amount of drinks. They do charge five dollars for pretty much every standard bottled beer. They have a full bar drinks are a little bit more expensive here than some of the other venues so do you have buckets of beer. They have a happy hour and of course live music. Just remember that this place only plays country music. Overall legends corner is a smaller less crowded version of the actual legends down the street it's a good place to come and get a drink and stare at all the cool guitars and artwork on the walls. read more

They get 4 stars only for the history and music that they provide. All entertainers play for tips which is common for the area. Many of these performers are looking for a start in the music industry. There are certainly many honky-tonks for your enjoyment in this town. Honestly, they all can be about the same. They are probably going to be crowded with tourists or with both locals and tourists on the weekend. Legends was a hang for my friends for a long time. Mainly because my best friend was obsessed with one of the bass players who was really cute. She was enough reason to go to Legends as far as he was concerned. That band was good, and I'm sure whatever band is playing now is great as well. They play covers of country songs. One of the great things about Nashville is the crazy, amazing level of talent in town. On a random Tuesday afternoon you can hear fantastic musicians. Legends is nice and big. It's also conveniently on the corner of Broadway so you can sneak down the street and get in and avoid the other honky-tonks if you want to. If you're going out downtown honky-tonking, I'd bet you're going to bar hop. I will say Legends is one of the cleaner and newer looking joints. read more

The Legends Corner is pretty damn literal. The bar is located on a corner, and many legends have played here. The place is on a slope so there are two entrances on two different floors. There are two bars, but when I went, the upstairs bar was closed. The downstairs bar was crowded as a result. The stage is small but there's tons of room to stand, and some tables. There's also great memorabilia everywhere, from said legends. I can't say enough good things about this singer from his song selection, to his stage presence to his cd of original music. As for the bar itself, the girls behind the bar are quick and attentive. The live music is always good, though I would recommend going when Buck McCoy is playing as he is exceptionally talented and funny. As a local, if I'm spending a night down at the honky tonks, this is not usually one of my stops--but, that's mainly because it's packed in with tourists. It's one of the roomiest bars on the strip only second to the Stage, so better suited for groups than, say, Tootsie's or Robert's. There is a pretty good-sized dance floor right next to the stage up front, and another level up top with tables. Bands are good--heck, you'd have a hard time finding a bad one, singers and bands are a dime a dozen here in Nashville so you have to be great just to get a gig. I do enjoy a weekend afternoon Pabst Blue Ribbon here...before it gets overcrowded, and it's usually the first stop if bar-hopping on the strip. That's not that often though! Bottom line--are you here from out of town? You should make it a stop on your crawl down Broadway. Local? If you want to go, do so on a weekend afternoon, or a weeknight to avoid the crowds. read more

First bar we came to while in Nashville for a very short weekend. It was PACKED on a Friday night and the band was playing a bit of country and some top 40s hits. They were phenomenal. The drinks were reasonable and the service behind the bar was pretty quick considering the amount of people that were tightly squeezed into this small venue. I would not normally take time for this kind of crap, but the security didn't do them self any favors. For my sons 21st birthday we came to Nashville, great time! But the security Gaurd decided to judge my son and thought he was a bum, and told him he pissed in a trash can and kicked him out. Even though he was with us the whole time. Then they let us know that he wasn't allowed into 3-4 different bars As far as I'm concerned if somebody pissed on a trash can they should be reprimanded. we Had never been to Nashville before so we did Music row. We went into a couple places did not like the music so we moved on. We came across Legends and Morgan Alexander was playing. He and his band were really good. However the problem I have is one my husband preserved me a drink requiring a glass and they put it in a paper cup. I'm not a fast drinker so it started leaking so he had to get another cup. Atleast use something that doesn't leak. Then the thing that ripped it off wass I went up to "Michelle" atleast that is the name she gave me. I ordered my husband a coots light. I gave her 2 5's and she she gave me 4 ones. I waited and she went to a couple other people. I asked where my colors light was and she said she did not help me. I told her bull....! So essentially I got ripped off 8.00. It does not sound like much but it's the principle. So I will never go there again. I even tried calling the next day and no one answered the phones and it's 1:40 in the afternoon. This place was AWESOME!! It was our first time visiting Nashville and if anything made an impression, it was this joint! We walked up and I saw a kid singing on stage through the window, then saw another kid on the drums. When we asked if there was a cover charge, we were told "there's never a cover charge!" and had a friendly exchange with the bouncer before going inside. The atmosphere inside was exactly what you would want from a bar in downtown Nashville. People were happy and engaged, and the kids on stage with the band that was playing was just the coolest thing to see. Definitely going back next time we visit! read more

We enjoyed the live music and the bucket of beer deal - probably one of the best deals on Broadway (five beers for $25). Was physically assaulted by racist door staff here after defending my African-American friend who was asked to leave without any explanation. The staff kept saying, "get rid of the black guy with dreadlocks". I was dumbfounded. I'm 5' 8" / 140lbs, pose zero physical threat to anyone and have never been removed from a bar or public place in my life. Probably the first honky-tonk that many people in Nashville go to. Has a somewhat modern selection of country music, and has an older clientele (mostly age 40+) compared with many other places on Broadway. Patrons here some quite friendly and were having fun with the music. Unlike Tootsie's there is room to move around on the main floor. Drinks are somewhat expensive, as is the case for most places on Broadway. Had some of the better music on Broadway though. Not the best on Broadway, but a good time if you don't know what the other places are like. read more

was at Legends on Saturday 3/4 around midnight at the back bar having drinks with friends. There was a blonde and a brunette bartender working. They were the rudest bartenders I've ever seen. Standing around whispering and ignoring customers, when you tried to get their attention saying excuse me they just kept on talking like you didn't say anything. Told another customer they were rude because she interrupted them to order a drink. Told someone in our group that we tip like shit and we should leave. The drinks they made us weren't what we ordered and they acted put out to remake them. The brunette accused someone in our group of taking her picture. she brought security over to our table and they asked us to leave. The bartenders must've had friends at the bar and the friends kept telling them that the bartenders were drunk and shouldn't be working. Exceptional live music and a nice staff--these are my qualifiers for Nashville bars and this one meets the test. The bartender did charge me for my club soda and lime, but he kept them coming as long as I was there. He also didn't give me a hard time about not drinking. The live music was great and the band was top notch. I think I am only giving this 4 stars because I enjoyed another bar with live music on the strip more, however this is a great place to stop while in Nashville.
