i need to do a HUGE shout out to Legacy Transmission, I had reached out on Saturday asking for someone to look at my transmission, I had received it back from my dealer who told me that i needed a new transmission, $10,000, YIKES !!!!! Mohammed reached back and said to bring it down and he would look and advise. Monday Morning i took a ride to Hayward and met with Mohammed, he came out to my car right away, asked me a few questions, listened to the engine and then one of his team members heard the noise and said " What the hell is that sound? " "sounds like a vacuum leak", Hector came over, popped the hood, Retrieved his Minors Light, and proceeded to pop his head around the engine compartment. Hector found a few hoses that had popped off and proceeded to replace them, he replaced one and the sound was still annoying, then he switched the hoses and the $10,000 bad transmission was magically fixed. There is a Huge difference between a Mechanic and a Technician. Hector absolutely knows about cars, he is a true mechanic. The Dealership needs to re-evaluate their technicians, That was a Horrendous Diagnosis that the Dealership gave to me. I needed to pass smog on my 2008 Cadillac. Apparently it needed a lot of work. A lot of codes came up, a lot! Mr. Saleem is amazing, he explained to me everything that needed to be done, including a new catalytic converter that only the manufacturer could provide. I trusted him from the start and told him we would go forward with all the work and parts he quoted me accurately, and had my car done on time before my birthday. I had issue with my car for few years. I took my car Mercedes Benz E350 2006 for transmission rebuild to this shop. Legacy Transmission had rebuild and re-programmed the transmission and now I don't have any issues with the transmission. The main tech Saleem is very knowledgeable not only with German cars but all different model of cars. He is very helpful and friendly. Easily approachable. Salim is absolutely amazing!! My car broke down and when I called him, he was willing to help me out with towing it to his shop and gave me a flat quote. No "Well... I'm going to have to check it out first, then we'll see what it'll be." By far the best shop in the bay!!! Great price what he quoted me is what I payed, he even changed a few extra parts without charging me. I had him look at the transmission about a week later (i wasn't used to the new found power the rebuilt transmission had) he took my tahoe back in the shop for the day gave me his company truck to take home cause I had pick up my kids from school. I shop around East and South Bay area to rebuild my 2005 Nissan Maxima transmission but could not find any mechanic to my satisfaction. A co-worker recommend me to Legacy Transmission. I am so glad I found Legacy Transmissions. Salim did a wonderful job installing used transmission I bought off of eBay Motors (with Square Trade as it covers parts and labor) for my RAV4. It runs like new! He even told me to bring it back in six months so that he can test to make sure its running properly. Salim responds to your queries right away. If you have transmission repair needs, talk to him first, he'll save you money. Salim was easy to work with - no pressure and honest. He recently rebuilt the transmission for my BMW 328xi, which unfortunately blew right before Christmas. I initially had it diagnosed at the dealership, but their conclusions were dubious. Salim took it apart and confirmed that what they had told me was inaccurate. He cleaned it up, replaced the torque converter, and put it back together at a better price than I could have achieved had I stuck with the dealer. (And, I found out what was actually wrong with it!)
