I was simply trying to get in touch with Alex Rinner regarding a follow-up question after receiving a voicemail. Instead, I reached someone in Chicago who said he knew who Alex was but had no directory, no direct phone number for the Cincinnati office, no way to transfer me, and no voicemail option. It was surprising that a national company couldn't provide basic contact information for a local representative. Communication has been extremely poor from the start. I was told my concerns would be addressed and that someone would get back to me, but I never received a response or any resolution. On top of that, the pricing has been inconsistent and keeps changing, leaving me feeling misled rather than informed. At this point, I'm not even sure how customers are expected to reach the appropriate local office when follow-up questions arise. Good customer service starts with clear communication and accountability, and unfortunately, I experienced neither. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering another company if you value transparency, reliable communication, and responsive customer service.

Her mom broke the news to me. I told them to put the seat down so I didn't even have to see it. I put in a work order and wondered how long it would take to get it fixed. Shudder. Within an hour there was a knock on the door and a very pleasant man told me not to worry and he would fix it up. And he did, taking his bucket and plunger and left. I was so happy I didn't have to deal with that mess. Life is good.

Pay Full Price, Get a Partial Fix -- Repeat as Needed…read more This company managed to turn a straightforward plumbing leak into an expensive lesson in what happens when accountability is optional. We initially called them for a leak and were charged $769.39 just to assess the issue, followed by $7,098 for new pipes. Shortly after this "repair," the leak returned. When we called them back, they charged another $899, only to then tell us the problem was allegedly where our pipes connect to the county's system--work they are not licensed to perform. The county came out three separate times and confirmed the issue was not on their end. We then hired a second contractor, who immediately identified the real problem: the original job was simply not completed. He also stated--without hesitation--that he would be shocked if this company refunded even a dollar. When we asked why they would bid on a job they were not licensed to fully complete, their answer was astonishingly casual: they "didn't think it would be an issue." According to them, they fulfilled the contract because they "fixed the leak they could see." That explanation alone should alarm any potential customer. I later spoke with a supervisor who repeatedly deflected responsibility by asking, "How were we supposed to anticipate what we couldn't see?" That is not a defense--it is an admission. As a consumer, I do not hire a professional to fix only the visible portion of a problem. I hire them to fix the problem. No solutions were offered. No accountability was taken. Only excuses and a clear attempt to redefine failure as acceptable performance. Be warned: this company appears to complete just enough of a job to justify billing, then treats the remaining work as a series of costly "separate issues." You will be left paying thousands while being told no one is at fault. This was an expensive lesson learned the hard way. Save yourself the frustration, the time, and the money. Find literally anyone else.

Needless to say, their repair hasn't held. The pvc piping they installed won't even stay together. It only held for a few months and then just came apart-- leaving us with having to have a bucket beneath the sink. I'm just frustrated enough to write this updated review now because I have to pay to have another plumber come out to fix their work. These people are predatory and unprofessional. Would not recommend. What would've been nice is if the owner of this plumbing company saw the invoice number on my receipt in the last post and tried to reach out-- but he didn't. Instead he implied that we didn't even have his company service my mother's home. Having integrity in your business -- owning a job and its result means something.

The overnight temps were below zero, the water supply is on the outside wall = frozen pipes. I called a number of local plumbers, and no one had anyone that could get to me quickly. Tarvin initially told me I would have to be a work in, understandably, I was not the first call for frozen pipes! Maybe 20 mins later, I received a call back from Tarvin and they told me a tech could meet me at my house in 45 mins. When the tech arrived (cannot remember his name), he told me they pulled him from his office duties for the day to take care of my issue. He was polite, friendly and got right to work. Within 15 mins he had the frozen line thawed, with no apparent leaks (fingers crossed). Polite, professional and reasonably priced. They also recommended a permanent fix for the freezing issue. Tarvin will be my 1st call for any future plumbing issues! Jeff H

I would strongly discourage anyone from using United Heating and Plumbing…read more We had our entire HVAC system replaced less than three years ago, and the ac unit has already broken down four different times. A system this new should not be failing repeatedly. The last time the owner, Matt, came out to repair it in April, we told him we were concerned that the air conditioner itself might be defective because of the constant problems. He told us to "trust him," reminded us that he owns the company, and assured us that if anything happened, he would come back out and take care of it. My husband believed him as he had been great to work with up until this point. Now, just a few months later, our HVAC has been broken for over a week. Despite the system still being under the warranty we were told the company provides, we cannot get anyone to respond. We have called and texted all three phone numbers we have for the company multiple times and have received no response. When you spend thousands of dollars on a new HVAC system, you expect reliable equipment and a company that stands behind its work. Instead, we've dealt with repeated breakdowns, unfulfilled promises, and now complete silence when we need warranty service. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend United Heating and Plumbing.
