In August 2023, I began treatment with Aspen Dental and financed $6,978.45 through CareCredit. Part…read moreof my treatment plan included clear aligner treatment. I was informed that my final tooth extraction needed to be completed by an outside oral surgeon because the office did not have a surgeon who could perform the procedure. My understanding was that I would be referred to a specialist and then return to begin my aligner treatment. That did not happen. I never received the referral or the aligner treatment that I am disputing. Despite multiple attempts over the past several years to get answers, I have struggled to get a resolution. I recently learned that my CareCredit dispute was denied because Aspen Dental reported that I had received all of my services. I disagree with that conclusion and have requested copies of my records and the documentation supporting that determination. I also sent a formal written request to Aspen Dental, but I have not yet received a response. My goal has never been to avoid paying for services I actually received. I am simply asking for a fair review of the charges for services that I believe were never provided and for the documentation supporting Aspen Dental's position. I hope this matter can be resolved promptly, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office until it is.

I am pregnant and they treated me like they have no knowledge or consideration at all when it comes to pregnancy. First, I requested to be at a small incline as it is not safe to be flat on your back. The DENTIST made multiple comments how that was uncomfortable for her because she would have to stand instead of sit during my filing. Making me feel like a total burden. Further, I waited a hour past my appointment to start my filling. Once started, she and the assistant talked about their relationships and religion and home life the whole time. It was extremely unprofessional. Then 1/2 way through the doctor told me she needed to go do other exams. So she left me 1/2 way done sitting there for another 20 -30 minutes to go work on other patients. So all in all , the appointment that should have taken 30 minutes took almost 2 hours. My advice, go to a dentist that actually cares about their work, and not their coming up vacation time. It's typically the office staff that are terrible and the doctors make up for it , but in this case, it clearly starts at the top and the staff follows along constantly apologizing for the dentist's behavior.

This is in fact, the worst dental office I've ever been to, I don't know if it's because it's a chain, probably so, but I definitely won't be going back. My first experience was a cleaning and general exam, a typical exam, X-rays were taken, health history/concers discussed, followed by the cleaning. Everybody here seems as though they hate their job, nobody smiling at you. Nobody's telling you to have a good day or asking how your day has been, just seems like nobody really wants to be there . I have never had cavities, but I guess there's a first for everything. My follow up appointment was booked about a week later which I went in for, for someone who has never had a filling I did opt in for nitrous gas, I was told it was only a $10 extra charge just for it to be an extra $50 charge. I then had also asked for a whitening to be done, I assumed from my previous schooling that this is going to be an in office medical grade teeth whitening session, that was not the case! I was fitted essentially with a rubber Invisalign tray and given a syringe full of at home teeth whitener that could be purchased off the shelf at Walmart. Which, if you ask me being that they say teeth whitening on their website, I personally feel if it's not being done by the dentist then that's just false advertisement, but whatever. My biggest issue is that during my exam I was chemically burned! The dentist performing the exam didn't seem to be all that concerned, he did end the session only after I asked that we stop because I could no longer continue because it was burning so badly. No report was done. No photos were taken, no evidence collected whatsoever that I was harmed on their property. I left immediately went to Care Now, was informed that I was in fact chemically burned. They treated me, and sent me on my way. Did I get a phone call or a follow up from Mint asking how I'm doing; checking in on a patient that was injured in their clinic? Absolutely not! They didn't care one bit. 8 people in the office not a single one! Being that I had already paid for my services I reluctantly did go back to have the glue from past braces removed. The dentist this time was different. She on the other hand was fantastic!Unfortunately, I did not get her name, but her customer service skills and her concern for her patient is the only reason this review has two stars instead of one, and although she is a great dentist and has fantastic bedside manners it seems as though she's the only one who enjoys her job. Not only am I not coming back, neither are my peers. Do better!

This practice has potential, but it is very disorganized…read more We went for an initial exam in early October. The "hygiene bay" where they do cleanings is a large communal room with several patients being seen (or waiting) at once. The doctor comes in and explains the treatment plan (if any) in full view/ ear shot of other parents or patients that may be in the room. *Keep your original treatment plan quote and bring it to the appointments.* They tried to charge me $275 after one visit, until I showed them they had clearly quoted me $157. They adjusted it, but if I hadn't said anything I would have ended up overpaying by over $100. Be aware that if you see different dentists within the practice, they may try to change your original treatment plan. My son was supposed to receive fillings based on his original treatment plan, but then we were put with a different dentist who wanted to crown the teeth instead, based on her own preferences. We wound up having to refuse and reschedule. You can request to see the same dentist throughout if dental work is needed, but also be aware that this may lengthen the wait time between visits. Do not allow them to go ahead and put your child on laughing gas if there is a significant wait. On what turned out to be our last visit to this practice, the dentist was very busy and my son stayed on laughing gas for nearly 40 minutes before they even started his procedure. As a result, the numbing jelly meant to reduce the pain of the injections had worn away. My son, who had never had previous issues with the injections, felt the full force and began sobbing. No work was able to be done that day due to his emotional state, and because he had been on the gas for an extended period of time waiting for the dentist, he vomited afterward. We chose to go elsewhere, and he went on to have a great experience at a different practice. The staff was mostly kind and accommodating, that was not really the issue. The issue was that this practice is so disorganized, you could wind up with your treatment plan needlessly altered, being overcharged, or waiting so long on the dentist that your child winds up sobbing and in pain. If you choose this practice, be prepared to advocate for your child. Ask for the same dentist throughout. Know what they quoted you. Verify before you go which doctor you will see and what each visit will entail. We chose to go elsewhere. Proceed, if you choose, with caution.

Unfortunately, my experience following that appointment, specifically regarding the referral to the periodontist, left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. For that reason, I feel it is important to share my experience and the concerns I have about the referral process. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the referral process and my experience during my recent periodontal consultation. During my exam and cleaning, I discussed my concern regarding an open embrasure (black triangle) with my dentist. Based on that conversation, I was referred to a periodontist to discuss a gum graft as a possible solution. I scheduled the appointment and took time out of my day because I trusted that this referral was appropriate for my condition. At the consultation, the periodontist briefly examined the area, asked what my primary concern was, and after I explained that it was the embrasure, immediately stated that a gum graft would not correct an embrasure. He then said the general dentist would need to discuss restorative options such as a veneer or crown instead. After the appointment, I was told I owed a consultation fee. I questioned why I was being charged for a consultation regarding a treatment that the specialist immediately determined would not address my concern. I was then told the consultation was also intended to determine whether I was a candidate for a veneer or crown. That explanation does not align with the reason I was given for the referral. I was referred specifically to discuss a gum graft-not to obtain clearance for a veneer or crown. My concern is not that specialists charge consultation fees. My concern is that I was referred for a treatment that the specialist determined almost immediately was not an appropriate option for the condition I was referred to discuss. This resulted in an unnecessary appointment, wasted time, and an attempt to charge me for a consultation that, in my opinion, should never have been necessary if the appropriate evaluation had been completed before the referral. For that reason, I declined to pay the consultation fee. I don't believe that I should be financially responsible for a referral that appears to have been inappropriate from the outset. I am requesting a clear explanation as to why I was referred for a gum graft consultation when the specialist determined almost immediately that a gum graft would not resolve my primary concern. I also ask that your office review the referral process to help prevent other patients from experiencing the same situation.
