The staff was friendly and my wait in the waiting room was only about 10 minutes. They took me back and took 18 xrays of my mouth, more than I've had in my life! Then I was taken to the back and seated in an exam chair. There was a bit of a wait but the assistant kept coming in to check to see that I was OK and comfortable. Then a dental hygienist came to check my gums and finally the dentist did my exam. Dr. Mitchell was very friendly and explained everything to me as she completed the exam and answered all my questions. The price I was quoted for the work I needed was very reasonable and the exam and all the xrays were free with my insurance. They did some of the work there on the spot and I have a follow up appointment. I am not a fan of going to the dentist but the people at Monarch made it as pleasant of an experience at possible.

I paid a significant amount of money for professional dental services, and I expect the work to be done correctly. Properly fitting dentures are not optional -- they are essential to my health and quality of life. As an older patient, this experience has been both physically and financially burdensome. I believe I deserve accountability and a reasonable effort to correct this issue. I am formally requesting that this matter be reviewed and resolved promptly. Receptionist gave me a date and time for next appointment and I marked my calendar. I then get a call my appointment needed to be changed as the doctor was on vacation and I told her that I was scheduled a week later and all she wanted to do is argue with me that I was wrong. Went to my new date appointment and the girl doing my X-rays said I was there for an extraction and a crown and I told her no. I was there for a routine six month exam. Was not told that I would not have Dr. Sohi - the dentist that came in said she was filling in and if that was okay. Kind of late to ask me that. She continued to check my teeth and then cleaned them while giving me a shower at the same time. I mentioned to the girl that did the X-rays about the appointment mix up and she went on to say that I called in January to change the date which I never did. She wanted to schedule my next appointment and I told her no that is fine. I feel that this office just wants to keep selling you services that you do not need or want. I had to return a week later for a replacement crown and was sensitive to cold and hot things ever since. Yesterday one of the crowns just popped off. I went to another dentist for obvious reasons. They told me that the crowns were never charged to my insurance. I am finding out that the dentist said it was for cosmetic reasons that I was given crowns. I was naive and not going through a good time when I agreed to this. I went to Burleson Dental off Wilshire and It was the best experience! The dentist was confused why I needed 4 crowns when I had great roots. Also it is confirmed the company just wanted their $12,000 payout. These charges weren't brought to my attention, nor were they explained at the time of payment--itemized receipts were only provided when specifically requested. This is the first time I have ever been charged a protection plan to insure dental work, and when I raised the issue, I was told that it was too late to reverse the charges. At no point was the fee pointed out to me; instead, it was added to my bill without explanation, making it seem as though it was intentionally slipped in without my knowledge. Given that the office cannot guarantee their dental work for a reasonable period without these extra charges, and considering the lack of transparency and the addition of what I see as unnecessary fees, I will not be going back to this practice. I believe it's important for practices to be upfront and honest with their billing, and unfortunately, my experience did not reflect this standard.

We showed up on time, only to be told at check-in that my son wasn't eligible to be seen yet because--according to their records and our insurance--he needs to be at least 6 months past age 3. So why was the appointment scheduled in the first place? Why did we receive multiple text reminders and confirmations leading up to the day of the visit, if we weren't actually eligible? No one apologized. The front desk staff casually offered for us to keep the appointment if we want to pay out of pocket. Obviously no.
