Fast forward about a year and the same thing seemed to be happening. I called yesterday and while it wasn't an emergency they had someone out to my house before 10am next day. Tyler was the tech that stopped out this time and he was efficient, friendly and chatted with me when I had questions. Turned out this time was not the same issue, the capacitor was bad which I am told happens at times after prolonged heat and humidity. I am glad it wasn't the same issue as before showing the fix they put in place last year is still going strong. After seeing their bio from other customers I contacted them but found they were not taking any new customers. I decided to leave a message to see if he could give me a recommendation of who he would use in his home, if needed. I explained to him we both had serious breathing issues and used oxygen in the home. He returned our call that day and we talk about what our needs might be. He suggested coming to our home and doing a walk through. He introduced us to the Mitsubishi Split System that provides both heating and cooling. This also ended the need for us to use our old, dirty vent system which was a huge benefit for our lungs. Joe was excellent to work with. He answered our questions truthfully and he did what he said he would do. Joe is well versed and knowledgeable in the AC/HEATING field. He scheduled our job for one day and he would have met that goal if it had not been for a late afternoon thunderstorm. He was back in the morning and finished our job before noon. Leo Kob recently came out to our residence to troubleshoot an A/C issue. They diagnosed the root…read moreproblem as a bad compressor and proceeded to quote us for an entire system replacement, including a $650 "smart thermostat", to the tune of over $9,000, even though we clearly stated we will only be at the property for less than a year. We called a second HVAC company to come out for another opinion and a day later their diagnosis showed the compressor to be working and operating within normal operating parameters, and the system to be free of any refrigerant leaks. 30 minutes later our A/C unit was back up and running (after a minor component replacement) for a small fraction of the cost of a new system. Buyer beware - do not put your trust in this company - always get a second and even third opinion when dealing with systems of this magnitude. Either the technician was grossly incompetent or was instructed by ownership to purposely mislead us into thinking we needed a brand new system. This company's salutation states "Your Friends at Leo Kob Co." These people are NOT friends, they are an HVAC company that has totally lost my trust. I will be doing business elsewhere.
