Bruno was incredibly kind; plenty of space at the last minute! Very cute shop, priced lower than the competition.

We had a great experience with this place. My husband and I…read morestopped for the day in Florence on our way to Rome and we wanted to leave our luggages somewhere while we explored the city. I was afraid that my big luggage wasn't going to fit but the space was huge! I did have to reserve two lockers to leave our other small luggage and back packs. It was a relieve though that they have so much room. I swear it doesn't seem like it but my big luggage fit with room to spare. Many reviews recommend to reserve ahead of time. I didn't just because again, I wasn't sure if it was going to fit. We got lucky and we were able to get two lockers without problems. I saw more people coming in and they were also able to reserved one. My advise though is that during high seasons you do reserve the lockers you would need online. Last but not least and super important, do not throw away the receipt. It has the code to open the locker. This might sound funny because it is common sense you would think. However, I saw a group of people who threw away their receipt with the code and they couldn't open it. They kept calling the help button but no one was picking up. Don't be one of those people who messed up and later on blame it on the company for "not picking up." Your receipt, you valuables, your responsibility :)

******************…read more I AM SO SORRY. The bad review below was for the Wrong place! This review below is meant for hotel baccio or whatever, the hotel right next to this shop, which I was originally looking for. Please guys don't mistake Stow your bags for another place like I did. I'll leave this review on to warn people to make sure to come to the right place. Okay, Italy was perfect until I got to this place. This man. The man that took my bags has got to be or to work for one of the meanest, pettiest people I have ever come to meet. So Florence was cold when I arrived right? So I wanted to change into longer pants before I stored my bags and I asked the employee if I could use the bathroom. "No! Not possible." He said it so aggressively I literally thought he was joking, laughed, and asked, "okay, seriously." "Not possible!!" he snarled like he was defending his daughter's virginity. Next a misunderstanding occurred. He said, "if you take something from the bar, you can use the restroom." But he said it in such broken English and so aggressively, that I thought he said, "if you use restroom, you might take from the bar." (Stealing) So I get upset and a shouting match occurs that ends with me deescalating it with sarcastic compliance. He apologizes and said, "look, I don't make the rules, I don't own the place." He then flipped a sign around that reads, "no WiFi, no bathroom" for guests. The pettiness is laughable. Learn generosity dude Also, when the guy took my bags, he did not put it in a secure room with locks! He put it in a small, sectioned off lobby that could easily be accessed by anyone in that lobby. The guy has to just go for a break and the bags would be fully exposed. Anyways, that bar the guy was talking about? Was a cafe independent from the hotel. Tinos. I ended up having breakfast there . They are the only people in Florence that smiled.

Crowd: somehow there were a lot of Asians that booked this hostel. I was in a room of all Asian girls, I'm Asian myself and maybe they wanted to put us all together? Hostel: the rooms are freaking huge! It's old though but huge! The place is sooo big. They have courtyards and garden areas, big cafeteria that you can order food. The breakfast is the best breakfast ever for any hostel!! I'm not talking about bread, cereal, and a muffin. I'm talking about a selection of breads, sweets, real food (rice Wth seafood, tomato rice, meatballs with sauce, little hot dogs with veggies, eggs, eggs with bacon, a killer drink machine that makes the best cappuccino!) the breakfast was amazing and they did not cheap out. It was buffet style as well. The bathrooms were plentiful with showers. There's a 2am curfew and a 11pm quiet time. So if you wanna party go somewhere else, because the receptionist guy will give you crap. And tell you to shut up. The wifi is everywhere! And it's pretty good. Hey also have computers you could use as well. And they sell food and water for cheap. They don't try to over charge. A big water bottle was less then 1 euro! Other places sell that for 3 euros. Price was really good for hostel, under 30 euros. This was probably the best hostel I stayed at! Totally recommend if you are in Florence!

I checked in the hotel very late the caretaker was helpful and nice. He even lugged my heavy ass luggage to my room. Getting to rooms is where it starts to get weird ... it's like you have to leave bread crumbs down to make sure you find your way back to where you started. Literally out down over through up turn left right I was like wtf where am I going. Yes it is a very old hotel or whatever. It is like a scary movie I felt Norman Bates or Jack Nicholson was waiting for me at any second. The place is huge and very very eclectic. It's very unique I mean if it were a house I would love to live there because of the uniqueness. But I have to admit pretty spooky at night but the room is comfortable clean the AC blasted water pressure cool. I find in Europe most Queen beds are twins together so that didn't bother me the tub was clean I didn't have to wear shower shoes. The only drawback was NO IRON so most of my clothes I wore stretched since I couldn't iron. No coffee machine it had a fridge. They mentioned something about misquotes but I didn't have an issue. All in all it is different yet cool and very close to a lot of stuff.

Although we had a number of non-standard needs due to multiple family members arriving at different days and times, everything went very smoothly and the staff were gracious and accommodating. Special thanks to Erika and Laura who helped us set up some storage for our luggage for the several hours post-checkout as well as arranging a cab for travel outside the city. Really everyone was super helpful and we intend to return at the next opportunity! The hotel itself is also fantastic and represents the classical Italian aesthetic ina very appealing way. Good WiFi, excellent breakfast buffet, no hotel restaurant but super nice courtyard. Reasonable cost, 10 minute walk to the Duomo and Central Market. Decent AC and bathrooms! Thanks for the experience Hotel Monna Lisa!

When we got to our room, we loved the view overlooking the street, just one block from the Florence Cathedral. The room was very comfortable, especially after arriving in the rain. As we explored the city, we spoke with Noemi at check-in and asked about the spa services they offered. She was a good listener and helped decide on a package. We looked through the brochure, and she recommended booking in advance to ensure availability. We decided on the €295 couples package, which included a couples massage 30 min/each. The private spa would be booked for two hours total. We booked it for the following day, and she informed us that cancellations were not allowed within 24 hours. Not only was the hotel stay excellent and the service top-tier, but the spa experience was on another level of luxury. We were escorted to a private spa area that included a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, bathroom, shower, robe and slippers. The massage therapists each gave us a relaxing 30-minute massage. Snacks, berries, and wine were also included. We chose to have them delivered to our room afterwards but you can have it during your spa allotted time. I must say, for any special occasion, this experience is absolutely worth it! Besides the comfortable room and friendly staff, the spa treatment was hands down the highlight of our stay. I can say with certainty that when I return to Florence, I wouldn't be able to stay anywhere else.

They refill the complimentary mini bar everyday and it came with snacks and a variety of drinks, which we enjoyed. The rooms were also a very decent size. The beds are extremely firm and not in a good way. We looked it up and that's how Italians like it. The buffet breakfast had a good variety and was very busy. If you are lucky, you get to sit by the window with a view of the duomo. I noticed the staff ask a few people if they wanted a cappuccino or another drink that wasn't being served at the buffet but we were never asked and it was hard to flag them down.

They have a very small capacity and it is family run. I once stayed here when my apartment lease was up and my plane ticket wasn't for a few more days--they had a vacancy, so they upgraded me from their single bed room to a king. I can't tell you how amazing this was after sleeping on effectively a cot for the four months before it. They're kind people and it's run top notch. Hotel Mario's is conveniently located about a three minute walk from the train station and about five minutes from El Duomo. Unlike most European cities, Florence is not at all shady around the train station, so don't be scared that by its proximity to the train station (which is seedy inside). I will say Mario's isn't the BEST location, however, as it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the river, and a lot of the better restaurants are located on the other side of the river. Nonetheless, Florence is a small, walkable town so nothing is that far away. The hotel lobby is one level off the street. If you need help with your luggage, don't hesitate to ask - service is very friendly! Our room was really big by European standards, and cutely decorated. Wi-fi was fast, reliable and cheap. The people at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast, included with the room, is a typical European breakfast, but with great coffee, even cappuccino. It's not a luxurious hotel by any means, but it's spacious, clean, quiet and has great service. You won't be disappointed.
