We enrolled our pit bull puppy, Daphne, in their four-week training program when she was about four months old, along with the Grow With Me program. Like most puppies, she was extremely energetic and still working on potty training, puppy nipping, jumping, house rules, and overall manners. Daphne came home like a completely different dog--in the best way! She was calmer, more confident, better mannered, and had a much stronger understanding of what was expected of her. One thing we especially appreciated was that no electronic collar was used during this stage of her training. After having a previous experience elsewhere where we felt one was relied on too heavily, this was really important to us. We also loved that Daphne received plenty of socialization and real-world exposure. Bridget took her into different environments, and we received regular pictures and updates on her progress and the areas they were continuing to work on. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and truly feel the investment was worth it. We're already looking forward to Daphne returning around eight months old for the next phase of her Grow With Me program and eventually working toward off-leash training. We just completed our second training camp with my clever canine. At our first experience our dog…read morewas roughly 5 months old and this time we were returning with a 1 year old pup. We had maintained a nice foundation but felt it was appropriate based on a myriad of factors. We were placed with Emily and our experience was excellent. We knew Emily from many of our group trainings but had yet to do extensive one on one with her. Emily's approach is honest, consistent, soft (but firm) and very relatable. She was communicative in every way and made us feel safe. Given we had already done one camp we felt comfortable with the facility but each trainer brings their own nuance. Emily was clear and concise with each weekly update- she was really positive and had a ton of healthy feedback. Training is a huge investment of time and money.... Something we don't take lightly, but we have felt it was incredibly worth it both times. The continued support offered is 10/10, the communication is consistent and the general vibe is that everyone really wants to be there, including all the pups. Our dog has been home one full week, and we feel really good about the tools we've been given for continued success.

When we first met Furry Murray, we had two very senior pets. Both required more attention, and often timed medications, when we left. Instead of worry, we always knew they'd be in the best hands while we were away and that our pets would be thrilled to see them. Now, we have two new additions to our family, and they too love the Furry Murray team. Daily, we receive video and photo updates, as well as any photos of packages arriving to the home, etc. It's a relief to find someone who cares for and loves your pets as much as you do. Murphy's Canine B&B responded quickly to my inquiry and their prices were very fair. We are SO GRATEFUL to have found them! We went on vacation and so did he! He went to a house where Murphy lives (Yorkie dog) and basically moved in for 10 days. He played with all of the dogs getting boarded there. They have a fabulous yard where the dogs play and run, they get a doggie pool, toys and then in the afternoon they all go inside and nap wherever they want to be.... on the couches. Lazy boy, floor, bed.... WHEREVER! That is so awesome! Chief was well taken care of and had a blast being there... I could not have asked for more. I will never have reservations about going anywhere again because I have a place for my baby to go. Thank you ladies, Mahalo!

Rachel has been amazing to work with. We got our boy Bohdi as a rehome when he was a year old. We…read moreare experienced dog owners and have trained all of our past and present dogs. Bohdi however had trust and aggression issues and he would charge other dogs. Taking him for a walk was exhausting and no one enjoyed it. He would go hide in his kennel when he saw the leash come out. We needed help and Rachel has been amazing. Bohdi now runs to the door and waits for his walk he is so excited. He and I both have a good time going for walks now. He still gets nervous around other dogs but he no longer goes crazy and out of control. He is still improving every day and we can't thank Rachel enough for helping Bohdi and us.

He was surrendered at a different shelter and the SPCA took him back since they make a lifetime commitment to all of their animals. I've always had wonderful experiences with the staff and volunteers at this shelter. They've been helpful and kind. When I took Fat Larry back a month later for the low cost shot clinic they even remembered him! ("He looks like Bach" is what the vet or vet tech said.) I believe they really have the best interests of the animals in mind. I was told another family came to look at Bach and while they liked him they didn't think it was a good match based on Bach's behavior. In 2018 I had a relatively to easy with them for a low cost spay/neuter clinic for my dog. (If you're looking to go for the low cost shot clinic go early! There was already quite a line when I got there shortly after the supposed opening time. But they do have a very organized system!) The other review saying you can't visit the cats without filling out an adoption application was also my experience. However I've been able to walkthrough the kennels and visit the dogs. Their hours of operation can be difficult if you're not able to go in on the weekend. If you're interested in an animal definitely talk to the people! The bios don't offer much beyond a name, physical description, estimated age, and any medical issues. The people can and will tell you a lot more about the animal's personality to help you figure out if it's a good match. They have a pet supply store on-site. However the selection can be lacking. When I adopted my cat they didn't have any litter boxes/litter or the type of diet dry cat food he was on. It would be nice if you could get everything you need for your new pet right there and support a good cause. On the other hand they seem to have some specialized items like Victor dry dog food and dried rabbit meat treats for cats. If you're looking for a new pet to add to your family give the Solano SPCA a chance!

My friend borrowed my crate ( crate that I had for years and was my mom's dog that died a few years…read moreback. It was the only thing I had from him) to take her cat to get spayed and they gave her a new one bc her cat pooped in it and gave her a week to come get it and return the one they gave her to take her cat home. She went to go return the one she got to get mine back and they told her they threw it away. That's is so disappointing and heartbreaking! I will never get that crate back! And nothing will replace it! If you take your cat to get spayed and they give u a crate make sure u take yours home when you pick up your cat otherwise it'll get thrown away also!

An 80 lb. dog will pull over someone with PD unless they (the dog) are trained. He's a good dog, but has never received proper training on the leash (we lived next door to a dog park). Francesca is knowledgeable, and approaches her work with humor. She obviously LOVES dogs. She is dedicated to making dogs be the best companions they can be, without all the annoying habits that develop when people let the dog be the boss. The facility is well equipped. Our dog sitter recommended Francesca because she has seen what F. can do. We are so glad we found this amazing trainer. We recommend her, highly.
