We recently moved to the area, and with limited support, needed to find a reliable pet sitter. For some context, my 5.5-year-old cat had never been left alone so my stress levels leading up to vacation were super high knowing I would be across the country from my little furbaby. I gave Furry Murry 5 stars, but truthfully they deserve more. Six years ago we fell in love with a mother dog named Zoey from a local breeder. She was being retired and she was the sweetest animal I had ever been around. I don't think we realized what a huge life change this was going to be for her. She was so sweet, but completely terrified. I took a week off to get her settled, but needed to go back to work. I had met Helen and arranged for her to walk Zoey while I was at work. Zoey loved us, but everything was new to her and she was initially terrified of Helen and everything else. The first day Helen came to walk her she hide under the table and cried. Helen was so very patient teaching her how enjoyable walks could be. Helen never gave up. She called her "Eeyore" because she was always crying and scared. She even took Zoey with her one day when I was at work and there was a fire in our neighborhood. Extremely unhappy and disappointed with the way my situation was handled with them. Very unprofessional. We were consistent customers twice a week (2 dogs) for the last few months and were treated terribly. With no prior knowledge of any behavioral issues with my dog we were notified, out of nowhere, that one of my dogs could not attend daycare anymore. We were told that he "gets antsy in the house", a behavior that we never have seen, and that he is "too needy". Every day they attended Furry Murray we received multiple videos and pictures of our dogs NEVER showing said behaviors. In addition, I brought my dogs home Tuesday and they were extremely anxious and acting out of their normal character. I reached out to Helen and she told me nothing had happened. Thursday we were notified 30 minutes before pick up time that he was not allowed to come to daycare any longer. I brought him home and he was exhibiting the same anxious behavior. Very suspicious that it played out in that manner. Don't bring your dogs here. They do not communicate what is going on with your dogs and will unprofessionally discontinue business from loyal customers without notice. In response to the owner: Like I expressed to you, the problem was never that Rex was not disturbing the group. We understand that if our dog is doing something to disrupt we either would remove him or work on whatever the issue is at home. The problem is not being given any prior notice/communications of the behaviors you are referring to. Your customers that are paying you also have the right to be notified of any undesirable behaviors by THEIR dog when they happen, not the day you decide to discontinue service. I have a Great Dane. I recently sold my SUV for a BMW. Those two things do not mix. I tried it and within 5 minutes she'd destroyed the leather and coated my black interior with white Dane hairs (little pieces of wire basically). I needed someone to take my dog, "Harlow" to her sitter in Benicia for a very long vacation to Texas. So, from Vacaville to Benicia and then again in 2 weeks. I contacted Helen after reading about her on Yelp in hopes that she'd be up for the challenge. We did a meet and greet and she showed me her transport van. It's especially made to transport dogs. Rubber floors, leash hooks, her logo visible on the outside, very very clean too! She was super sweet, funny, down to earth and professional. She quoted me an EXTREMELY reasonable rate ($6 a gallon for gas mind you) and we did a weekend test run. She came out and got Harlow in the pouring rain and stood out in the freezing cold waiting for me when it was time to bring her back. After the first successful test run we did it again a month or so later. Easy peezy lemon squeezy. She got Harlow there and back safe and sound and was able to handle Harlow's stubbornness and high energy anxiety. I'm SO glad I found a transport service to help me with Harlow. Now I don't have to ruin my expensive car, or worry about getting my dog to and from the sitter. For those of you wondering, I didn't use her to dog sit bc 1. I'm committed to my sitter in Benecia but 2. Bc She doesn't have the capacity for a giant breed dog, especially one that needs constant attention and can't be left alone. Thanks Furry Murray! There was not concerned on your part . When we stated that we would send Vet bills, it was initially used as documentation of a positive ringworm test and not financial reimbursement. What an incredible experience and service Furry Murray provides! TL;DR Helen and John are wonderful people and we're so lucky to have had their support and care for our pup on our wedding weekend. HIGHLY recommend! The Long Version: After our regular sitter was fully booked, they recommended Furry Murray and we couldn't be happier. On short notice, John and Helen made time that fit with my schedule to meet our large breed Rott/GSD mix. After a thorough meet and greet in which they got to know me, our dog, and share about themselves, we scheduled a series of visits and even a taxi service to my and my wife's wedding event in Moraga, a one-hour one-way drive from our home in Vacaville. Each visit was on time within the window we requested, came with text messages, pictures, and videos, and fell within the specific parameters with set (our pup is still recovering from knee surgery and needs multiple short sniff-walks). The taxi and chaperone service with Helen was all that we could've hoped for. She arrived in plenty of time for the ceremony and even got to hang out with the wedding parties before it started. After staying for pictures, she brought McCovey home for us, as well. Extremely disappointed with the owner's unprofessionalism. ALERT, they will end service with NO warning, NO communication, and NO notice! I have 2 dogs that were happy here. During their two visits a week for approximately 4 months. I would receive all "positive" videos, pictures, and communication about their behavior. Never did they communicate one of my dogs was getting anxious and barking resulting in disturbing the group UNTIL the day I was informed VIA TEXT he couldn't come anymore with NO PRIOR notice of any issues occurring. My husband and I are the kind of people that treat our dog like our child , so when the time came to go on vacation for a week (the longest we've ever been away from him) I was so nervous about finding a sitter. Tia goes to their Doggy Daycare twice a week, and both girls get walks twice a week as well. Tia is getting well socialized, and Cara is getting essential exercise as an active senior pup.
