We enrolled our pit bull puppy, Daphne, in their four-week training program when she was about four months old, along with the Grow With Me program. Like most puppies, she was extremely energetic and still working on potty training, puppy nipping, jumping, house rules, and overall manners. Daphne came home like a completely different dog--in the best way! She was calmer, more confident, better mannered, and had a much stronger understanding of what was expected of her. One thing we especially appreciated was that no electronic collar was used during this stage of her training. After having a previous experience elsewhere where we felt one was relied on too heavily, this was really important to us. We also loved that Daphne received plenty of socialization and real-world exposure. Bridget took her into different environments, and we received regular pictures and updates on her progress and the areas they were continuing to work on. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and truly feel the investment was worth it. We're already looking forward to Daphne returning around eight months old for the next phase of her Grow With Me program and eventually working toward off-leash training. We had maintained a nice foundation but felt it was appropriate based on a myriad of factors. We were placed with Emily and our experience was excellent. We knew Emily from many of our group trainings but had yet to do extensive one on one with her. Emily's approach is honest, consistent, soft (but firm) and very relatable. She was communicative in every way and made us feel safe. Given we had already done one camp we felt comfortable with the facility but each trainer brings their own nuance. Emily was clear and concise with each weekly update- she was really positive and had a ton of healthy feedback. Training is a huge investment of time and money.... Something we don't take lightly, but we have felt it was incredibly worth it both times. The continued support offered is 10/10, the communication is consistent and the general vibe is that everyone really wants to be there, including all the pups. Our dog has been home one full week, and we feel really good about the tools we've been given for continued success.

Before that, we enjoyed dog parks and meeting other dogs and their owners on our daily walks. She became aggressive during puberty. The Vet said let's wait to see what happens after the spay. Jade got more aggressive, not less. Desiree is a dog whisperer. When we met at our consultation, Desire walked into my backyard, and Jade snarled and bounded across toward her. I almost fainted watching my huge dog running toward her. Desiree did her trainer thing, and Jade completely relaxed. I watched Jade become putty in her hands within minutes, and I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. The training was detailed and extensive. My dog responds to me when I call her with a quiet "hey" when she starts to play with my cats or go towards the kitchen. She places in the house even when guests arrive, or someone rings the doorbell. Her PICA (eating non-food items) is almost completely gone. ( Jade is s/p a life-threatening bowel obstruction after eating a towel) She went to the dog park and played with a Golden until her energy was spent a few days ago. I can play with her off-leash and have confidence in my abilities to communicate with her. A couple of weeks after the training, Jade all of sudden began to be triggered by the satellite dishes and telephone polls on our walks. Well, you can imagine how difficult it became with aggressive barking and then refusal to move. I called Desiree, and she drove the 20 miles to my house immediately. She offered some recommendations, which I applied right away and I could see that the initial onslaught of fear dissipated over a couple of weeks. As a first-time puppy owner, I wasn't sure what to expect or if puppies just naturally outgrow certain behavioral issues. Either way, this is the only formal training she has ever had, and the results speak for themselves. She came back so incredibly well-behaved. And has reminded well behaved. When we go out in public, people always come up to see her because she's cute, but what they *constantly* comment on is how exceptionally well-behaved she is for an 8-month-old puppy. It is so validating to hear that from strangers! I love and fully agree with Anthony's methods and what he does here. If you want a well-behaved dog, Powerhouse K9 is the only place to go. After working together for so long, Garnet's trust in me has developed to the point where we frequently get compliments from strangers on his focus and behavior. I can even walk closely next to well behaved dogs now without worry. The quality of genuine care, attentiveness and communication from staff has been above and beyond! The love for the dogs is felt instantly and radiates when you are greeted by Rebecca and Caitlin in the office/kennel. Dropping your pup off for any length of time in never easy, yet somehow they've melted away any of those hard feeling and both our dogs absolutely love them! The expertise, patience and professionalism from Steve and the rest of the team in the field/obedience work has been incomparable! I forgot to bring my dogfood back and Rebecca was kind enough to drop it off at my house when she was in town. The online reservation system makes things really easy. Near the freeway, it makes drop offs en route to the airport easy.
