They had plenty of seating inside and some outside as well, although we went during the week and it wasn't too busy. Definitely recommend experiencing at least once or as a quick fun outing to catch some ocean breeze.

We boarded at the Aquarium/Dock 4 which was steps away from where we were staying on a boat at Dock 5. The cost is $5 one way, $10pp total for round trip. We chose not to get off at the Queen Mary and continued on to Alamitos Bay. We enjoyed the cruise along the Long Beach coast, where you see a lot of oil tanker and oil wells. There are man-made islands that serve as a disguise for oil well activity. Alamitos is the last stop of the taxi ride and where you have to get off and pay $5 person for the return trip. There doesn't seem to be much to see or do at the Alamitos stop. If your start point is at the Queen Mary or at Alamitos Bay, the taxi is a convenient way to get to Shoreline Village/Aquarium, where there are many things to do. We checked off the box of riding the water taxi.

The event was very well organized and all the wait staff were on point. One gentleman Javier found me a split of non-alcoholic champagne which was delicious. The buffet was probably the best buffet I've had in a long time. It's hard to feed a couple hundred guests and still maintain good food quality. They succeeded! Asparagus, chicken, salmon, pasta, green and Caprese salads. And desserts were terrific: cannoli, tiramisu, lemon bars. It was a very nice night and hopefully LB Athletics raised a lot of money for scholarships!

We did not grow up in a coastal community so this is all new to us but it's so exciting for our kids to experience the wonderful activities that the yacht club has. You don't really have to be into sailing to join. We personally love the dining experience, and all the holiday parties. People say that it's outdated, but I actually really like it. The mahogany vintage bar is pretty amazing. And the views are spectacular. All in all, I think it is worth the price tag. But only if you do plan to dine regularly. Which, for the record, I'm extremely particular with food, and I'm extremely impressed by the new chef. And for those that think it's a bunch of ultra conservative people, that's extremely far from the truth. All types of people are part of this yacht club. It has much more diversity than I would've thought and I love that.

The crew was so friendly and attentive, especially to us newbies. They checked on everyone, made sure we felt safe, and never once made anyone feel inexperienced. That matters when it's your first open water dives. After dive two, they had HOT chicken soup waiting for us and it was actually good. Not just "boat food" good -- legit comforting after being in the water. There were also plenty of snacks between all three dives, which we definitely appreciated. Now that we're certified, we'll absolutely be back to dive Catalina with them again. Even the more experienced divers on board were welcoming and kind. It honestly felt like one big happy dive family. Can't wait to get back out there

After quite a bit of research locally, followed by a call that came in quick reply to an email sent I sent. My schedule is such that I can't do a fixed schedule for 4 or 5 days running. Marc quickly came up with a plan and a schedule that fit my work life and my sailing goals (has any one seen Wind?). Along with practical training on the water Marc engages with NauticEd for the academic side or learning sailing. NauticEd is an online resource of classes and content that is readily accessible via the web or can be downloaded for use offline. Make no mistake, sailing is a skill (and an art) which does not favour the lax or inattentive sailor. To that end Marc focuses on ensuring skill proficiency as you progress from one step to the next. He is suitably firm but beyond fair. All the while reminding you that sailing is a joy and good solid fun. I can't wait to find the water again soon.. I wholeheartedly recommend Marc, Santana Sailing, and NauticEd.

The owner was our guide and we had a blast! Its best to listen to the professionals then think you may not need something. Happy adventuring!
