Had to Uber kids to school, call roadside assistance for jump. Was not told until back in person that the reason was THEY NEVER REPLACED THE BATTERY BECAUSE THEY DIDNT SEE IT ON THE PAPERWORK. This was the sole issue that had been discussed for 2 days prior. I'm still pleasant at this point; walk home. Receive call ACCUSING me of not giving them my keys; they strongly believe this because "I gave them the car running". I'm like duh, the battery's dead, that was a convenience TO YOU. At this point, I say "you already didn't render services upon payment in full and now you're telling me you lost my keys, why would I believe you?" I hung up, I'm on my way. On the way on my child's scooter, I get a VM, of course they found the keys. Pete(?) meets me outside, hands me keys, tries to show me "what happened". As I'm already getting in my car, he says "I don't appreciate you hollering at my guy". Well, I don't like the false security of being sent off for paid services not rendered and then getting accused of lying and the possible stress of lost keys on top! Wow! I never even asked for a refund. UNACCEPTABLE.

The entire appointment was exactly 59 minutes. Not only that, when it came time to pay what should have been about $60, I was told it was all covered by the warranty on my Cooper Tires. They knew they would do it for free and still treated me just as good as a paying customer. In this day and age, that's something really worth noting. As a result, I will be using them regularly from now on. Their prices are reasonable, the work good and the staff is very good. This is the type of place I'd send my mother to for her car service. They've always been fair and honest. Once or twice there were additional things I needed (like brakes ) and they were factually needed! The mechanics showed me why they were making a recommendation. Up to me whether I follow it or not. Thank you!!! Service has always been done very quickly and at a fair price. They are communicative. I've never felt pressured to buy or do anything. My car has always been ready when they tell me it will be. They've even offer a veterans discount.

My daughter had a set of new snow tires a little more than a year ago, and they started to cup on…read morethe outside front. This was on a brand new 2022 honda with suspension clean enough you could eat off it. The alignment was such that they quickly starting cupping and by the time she noticed it, it was enough to see the damage.... so damage was already done. Her 2022 Honda Civic should have been crazy easy to align and balance. I just bought a brand new top of the line set of rubber for $1,200 in March 2025, and my prior tires were worn with low tread but literally perfect, not a trace of wobble from 50-80mph, and not a trace of uneven wear. Literally not a trace of uneven wear. The new set had a significant wobble as soon as I left. I brought the vehicle back a couple weeks later they claimed to adj the balance and adjusted the alignment. The Ford Edge still wobbles, characteristic of a bad balance job, so it feels perfect up to 55 or so then it wobbles up to 75 then it feels like no wobble. So it is definitely not balanced. My front tire now has a road sound that is not crazy loud, but I can hear it, so it is not aligned or balanced or some mix thereof. The sound is characteristic of toe being off, I think. The car still wobbles around 55-70mph, so bad it makes papers in my truck violently shake. I then bought a gravity alignmment tool at Harbor Freight, and checked my wheels balance at home. And sure enough, two wheels were significantly out of balance. I took the ford edge immediately to a Ford Dealership and said nothing for history, just it shakes a tiny bit and had a road noise that should not be there, and they adjusted my alignment which was totally off. The dealership showed the before and after. Front wheels are supposed to barely turn to the inside, common knowledge. Not perfectly straight on and not barely to the outside. My front right was barely adjusted to go to the outside. The VIP tech did not understand alignments, and someone adjusted one wheel in the wrong direction. When TODD was at Topsham, this was a well run ship, I always had spot on alignments with Gary the tech at the time, and never ever had severe balance issues. The VIP when the manager was Todd was awesome. The VIP with no manager named Todd is not good. The new manager and techs are not trained to be expert, they do not perform at an expert level, and should not be advertises as professional, tires are really expensive and between Katies set and my new set, the techs incompetence is really costing us. We will be looking around to go elsewhere and will spread to word to avoid VIP for now in Topsham for seemingly shoddy work. the video shows 4 seconds slow highway speed on rt 196 in a section with no bumps, cracks or potholes, see how crazy the paper wiggles. Ugh. Very disappointed. Update, the front right wheel was a whopping 1oz off. No wonder it wobbled. This was after two visits in a row to have vip the new tires they put on, the second they balanced them one was 1oz off. Dan Foshays in Hallowell repaired it correctly w road test balancing and the youngest tech in that place looked like 40, their office (dan Foshays) had 25 sq feet of certifications included a thank you from the BBB.

Then I asked him, what are the chances the tires could be put on today, and he responded, come on over!!! That was great! Out we headed and when I arrived, I was waited on immediately and I was in and out of there in about 30 mins!!! The staff were friendly and helpful and very polite. I know that I probably caught them on a "not so busy time", but either way, I was pleased. While we waited in the garage, they have seating with a tv to watch and a little kids table with coloring books and crayons, which was great for me, since I had a couple of kids with me. Overall, very happy and the price for the tires were waaaay below anyone around. So, if you're in the area or need some work done, check out Walmart Auto Care Center.

I went up to the desk and said, I'm ready to check out, may I have my keys? The guy said, I'm sorry, but we were unable to rotate your tires due to a gash in the tire. You can buy a new one and we can do an alignment. No one ever came to the waiting area to tell me, so I was sitting there for unnecessary time. He showed me a photo of "the tire"....and it wasn't even MY CAR. I stopped at the car dealer on the way home - they checked the car and there was no damage to the tire. Talk about piss poor customer service. I will never EVER go back. ETA: And not only that...they tried calling my home number! I was RIGHT THERE, NOT MORE THAN 10' AWAY.

Normally, I would do a lot of price comparisons, but we had a blowout on one tire and were driving on a donut. I needed something right away because we needed to leave for Boston that afternoon and I didn't want to drive at interstate speeds on a spare. We were in need of four new tires anyway so I just went ahead and got all new ones. I know they would've been cheaper at Costco by about $100-$150, but Costco doesn't keep inventory and it takes about a week for them to get orders in. So in this case, I spent about $1050 on four new tires and the equivalent would've been about $900-$950 at Costco. To me, that was money well spent given it was kind of an emergency and we needed them right then. Big thanks to manager Chad for making it happen.

However, I don't keep up much with businesses in Bath (my bad), so didn't know Cahill's had been sold back in April. The reason I stopped in was for someone to check the pressure in my tires, as my low tire pressure light came on when I left my home that morning. This is a fairly new car with 23K miles on it that I had bought in September. All four tires were brand new. Anyway, when I walked in I saw this dark haired woman sitting at the counter in the waiting room. I asked where Marty was and she said we are the new owners. So, I asked if someone could check the tire pressure on my tires (a three minute task) and she said the service people were all busy and she could make me an appt, for Thursday. I said that wasn't really acceptable, as air was leaking. I left and on the way to my car I saw two service people standing by the stacks of tires outside just shooting the breeze. Busy, my foot. If that had been the old crew, they would have been right on it, even Marty had done that in the past. So, I went to Bert's (yes, I still call it that) and the kid came out, checked all my tires and the back passenger one was done 6 pounds. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Cahill's.

Certainly the most efficient tire repair operation I've seen in the US. You pull up in front, they jack up the car, remove the wheel, find the problem, fix it, and then put the tire back on. Bang, bang, bang. No pretense, no wasted effort. If you've got a flat near Bath, don't waste your time going anywhere else.

These guys are morons. I went in for an oil change and my car left the shop making all kinds of…read morenoises it had never made before. Went back a few years later for an oil change again. I figured the staff would have changed since my last experience. It took them 3.5 hours just to change the oil and my car was the only one in the shop. Then they came out and said that my brakes and muffler needed to be replaced. Took it to my family's mechanic a month later for an inspection and he said my brakes and muffler were in perfect condition. Unbelievable. Literally unbelievable. There are many MANY better places around town to go instead of Meineke in Topsham.
