Having an appt for a tire rotation and telling the guy I had to wait, I sat over in the waiting area, looking at the monitor...checking to see when my car would be in and the estimated wait time. The monitor said, "when you see your name removed, your car will be ready." Imagine my surprise when I looked out after 1 hour 15 minutes and saw my car in the lot. I went up to the desk and said, I'm ready to check out, may I have my keys? The guy said, I'm sorry, but we were unable to rotate your tires due to a gash in the tire. You can buy a new one and we can do an alignment. No one ever came to the waiting area to tell me, so I was sitting there for unnecessary time. He showed me a photo of "the tire"....and it wasn't even MY CAR. I stopped at the car dealer on the way home - they checked the car and there was no damage to the tire. Talk about piss poor customer service. I will never EVER go back. ETA: And not only that...they tried calling my home number! I was RIGHT THERE, NOT MORE THAN 10' AWAY. read more

I was very impressed that I was able to get in to buy four new tires as a walk-in on a Saturday. They had a pretty decent selection in stock and were able to get me out in about 90 minutes without an appointment. Normally, I would do a lot of price comparisons, but we had a blowout on one tire and were driving on a donut. I needed something right away because we needed to leave for Boston that afternoon and I didn't want to drive at interstate speeds on a spare. We were in need of four new tires anyway so I just went ahead and got all new ones. I know they would've been cheaper at Costco by about $100-$150, but Costco doesn't keep inventory and it takes about a week for them to get orders in. So in this case, I spent about $1050 on four new tires and the equivalent would've been about $900-$950 at Costco. To me, that was money well spent given it was kind of an emergency and we needed them right then. Big thanks to manager Chad for making it happen. read more

Call this place for an appointment to do changeover tires,customer service was very responsive and she easily set an appointment for me, On the day of my appointment went inside the store and the guy in front greeted me with a smile,he was polite and friendly. Got surprised with the cleanliness of the store,normally if you go to an auto shop you'll not gonna see this kind of cleanliness so that's a plus but I noticed their garbage can was already full up to the top of the lid. Inside of the store you can smell the rubber but it's pretty obvious because it's full of tires and wheels, maybe they can do something about that smell because some people might not be able to stand with it. The timing is good, they say that I will be done in an hour and they exactly did as promised. I had done some purchased with them before too on wheels and they're good on matching the price online. The backroom needs some organizing though,it's not a good idea to have one side clean and nice and the other not. read more

I was on my Honeymoon in Maine and needed 2 new tires immediately. When I got there I had fast and great service. Car was ready in about an hour and a half after walking through the door. Not only was the place clean but they offered hand sanitizer on the counter and at the front entrance. Just a heads up kind of update that may be of help to YOU. I already evaluated the store, everything still stands...BUT I recently went to get my car inspected, it usually passes easily, as I take very good care of it. But this inspection, done at Rowe Quick Lane, my car did not pass. It needed $400 worth of front end work. Front passenger side Stud and Wheel Bearing needed replacement. Lucky, there was a counter guy at Rowe who asked if I recently had my tires replaced. When I told him yes, he asked me if I had them done at Town Fair Tires, which I did. He said it is common for them to over do it a bit with Impact Wrench, and they fix a lot of them. Kudos to Town Fair Tires, they paid the entire bill to fix this. Even more to Rowe Auburn, as they saved me a $400 car repair bill. NOW...I can't help but wonder how many people where not made aware that their front end was damaged and not inspectable due to Town Fair and ended up paying for these expensive repairs themselves. I gave Town Fair two stars, because they did pay to fix damage they caused. However, I see no reason to put my trust in them again. But if you have or will do business with them, keep receipt and maybe mention this is a common enough problem for a Ford counter person to know about it. Just sayin' read more

Winters in Maine are busy when it's snowing. We were out plowing our accounts when one of the tires started losing air. Pulled in the business parking lot before hours , saw a worker going in and asked him about a repair. With no hesitation got us in, fixed the hole at no charge! Tires were bought from them and they backed up the warranty. Highly recommend them. I only wish I got the employee name. He is definitely an asset to the company. read more

2.5 hours later, walked out with new tires. Tech couldn't free the right jam nut, so they couldn't complete the free front wheel alignment. Disappointed after all that time the job really was incomplete. Had to take to a different shop to have jam nut freed up, but who knows when TFT can get the job done? Bottom line: I had a scheduled appointment and it still took 2.5 hours. Unacceptable. The manager and/or owner really need to fix their scheduling issues/workflow as I'm not the only one complaining about this. If you've already ordered the tires, the tires are in stock, and you have a scheduled appointment, shouldn't we expect to be out of there in an hour, tops? read more

Can I give this place 0 stars? First time there I was charged for new tires, waited for new tires and drove away WITH MY OLD TIRES. They even punctured one of the old ones so half way back to Bath I had a flat. When we went to change it, the lug nuts were ONLY HAND TIGHTENED! Then every time I've been has been a ridiculous wait. Today I went to have my snows changed to my performance tires (on their own rims). I had an alignment check 12 days earlier that was perfect. Left he store today pulling hard to the left and shaking. I brought it back and got EVERY EXCUSE UNDER THE SUN, but no apologies. I was there for 5 1/2 hours to finally get my regular tires put on correctly. Literally. No exaggeration. Absolutely the worst place to get tires and have them mount them, I'm coming from out of town an hour away to do this, we bought our own rims to do this, we drive an hour to the (insert expletive) store, we discuss that the tires go on the rims we brought with us. We buy the tires. We leave the rims that they helped us unload. And then we (insert another expletive) wait 2 hours in the area before they call us to tell us they will not put the tires on the CAR, that they had multiple opportunities to tell us about before we wasted all this ______ time. Why? Because we didn't buy the rims through them. Never do business here. Ever. If I could give zero stars I would. This is ____ unbelievable. Not once did they communicate their restriction to us or ask if we had rims they'd accept, not even when they helped us unload the rims. They wouldn't admit their mistake and did nothing to try to rectify it. telling us the equivalent of it's our problem that we didn't know about this restriction we were somehow supposed to be telepathically aware of. I had a new set of tires swapped along with balance and four wheel alignment. It took about a half hour before they began work on my vehicle and the job was complete in about two hours. Looks like a good job and seems aligned and balanced well. I have seen some reviews about having to wait two hours but that is normal at any place. The business really can't be run any other way given the nature of the operations involved. I would recommend a better area for waiting. Larger and a little nicer would be great. Also, some people have issues with inhaling the odor from all the tires around, it may make some sense to provide an area that is segregated. I would recommend this company to others. read more

Recieved a call Friday morning that I needed to reschedule because the only tech who does alignments is on vacation. This is a place that does "complimentary" FE alignments for EVERY TIRE PURCHASE. Not only was I annoyed with the very unfriendly guy at the counter who explained to me why our "free winter tire changeover" wasn't free. Loop hole. Make sure u have them on a set of rims already. Like anyone has two sets of rims...Anyhow, then I see my car roll around finally and wonder why the guy drove it to the far side of the lot instead of out front like the others. Came in for 2 new tires on a slow Monday afternoon with just one other customer in the waiting room, picked out my tires and took a seat. Remained seated for the next 2 hours and 10 minutes. My inquiry as to "how much longer do you think?" at the 60 minute minute mark fell on some pretty deaf ears and a mumble of 20 min from the counter guy. I've bought lots of tires in my life and there are lots of other folks selling em. 2 h and 10m! That's crazy. And i obviously received no explanation for the delay. Maybe I screwed up by paying first before I got my car back? Or, Maybe that's just their standard turnaround time?? Takes most others about 20min active time for the job at hand, but whatever? After 2 1/2 hours I was told my rear Camber was out but they didn't fix it as there was nothing in their computer to say how too. Really this is your business, sell new tires and do alignments. This is not the first time this has happened either. They didn't refund me the extra $49 I was charged for doing nothing!!! Had a decent experience when I purchased 4 tires from Town Fair. The tires I had ordered and paid for were missing so the manager gave me a "better" set for no additional charge. I left happy. Fast forward 11 months, all 4 tires have had trouble holding air. I am constantly dealing with low tire pressure lights and putting air in. Today I received a "very low" tire pressure warning as opposed to just a "low" warning. I was near by so I went right in. The man at the counter was far from friendly, he seem annoyed and less than willing to help. He told me it would be an hour to get me in and then as long as they wanted to fix it. I had a grumpy baby so I couldn't wait an hour + whatever he saw fit. I was told i could schedule an appointment for next week. He really didn't understand that I couldn't have a car that is unusable for a week. I'm going elsewhere. The "better" tires have been terrible and the stor less than willing to help. They're decent if your buying but awful to deal with after. read more

GIANT RIP OFF. Chain advertises "FREE WINTER TIRE CHANGOVER" that is completely not true. First they charge you a MANDATORY $33 "lifetime winter changeover fee" when you purchase tires. How is this free?? But to make matters worse they will ONLY change out your tires for FREE... IF YOU HAVE THEM MOUNTED ON SEPERATE RIMS!!! If you do not own 8 rims for a particular car they will certainly charge you to mount and balance each tire when they do the FREE CHANGEOVER. If you have separate rims why do you even need them to swap them out? It is flagrant, false advertising on many levels. They are basically charging for a free service that you will NEVER use. To make it even worse the 40k rated tires I bought for summer, they tell me after 10k miles they are worn hard and I should think about new ones in the spring. I realize they are trying to sell tires but the tires have plenty of tread. I do suspect since they were crap to begin with they will not last the 40k but hopefully at least 2 seasons! Go to a big box store (Sams, Costco,etc.) they have better prices (I had to make Town Fair Tire match the Sams price but then with these "extra FREE" services it has cost more for an inferior tire. Do not be fooled there is NOTHING FAIR about Town Fair Tire besides there name. read more

We made an appointment to have an alignment, tire rotation, and balance on all four tires. We arrived a few minutes before. The manager was friendly and courteous. And that's where the service ended. it was another 30mins before our car even went in, then they forgot to do the alignment. So we waited again. Needless to say my wife and I were quite upset. She asked the young man at the counter about the situation, and we were both shocked with his rude, arrogant response. telling my wife she was lucky it was only an 90 min wait, and not once offering any apology for forgetting to do the alignment. I understand that mistakes happen, and it was not his fault personally, but as a customer service rep, you need to know how to talk with customers not down to them. When the vehicle was finally ready, I asked the young man to apologize to my wife. He continued to be very rude and verbally combative to both of us, at one point putting his hand up towards my wife, suggesting she stop talking. At this point I lost my cool, and became very upset. I asked for the manager, who promptly came out, quickly assessed the situation. I asked him to finish checking us out, He responded with it's on me. We were assuming this meant no charge, that was not the case when I checked our bank account this morning. The sales rep obviously doesn't know what he doing, and couldn't care less about his ignorance in customer service. Our suggestion is to find another business that knows how to treat customers and can a schedule. read more

Stopped by with a perpetual slow leak in one tire, afraid that I would be pushed to buy a new or even a set of new tires. Instead, these guys took a look immediately, found a screw embedded in the tire that I somehow missed and removed it. When I asked how much it would cost for the repair, they just smiled and said not to worry about it. What a fantastic experience! In a recent visit to your Topsham Maine store for my vehicle alignment, I arrive and was informed it would take about 20 minutes to perform the task. Once my vehicle was in the bay, they were true to their word, 20-22 minutes. Upon receiving my printout, I noticed the alignment was not fully completed. I inquired about this and was informed the mechanic could not loosen several bolts. I was to take this to a mechanic and then RETURN to complete the process. This to me is unacceptable to have to visit a garage twice to correct the work that should have been completed in the first visit. I returned home and loosened the bolts that were hindering the alignment process. I called the Town Fair Tire closer to my home, ( Augusta Me)and made an appointment to have the re-work completed. I arrived on time (3:45pm 9/6/2016) and was informed there was one other vehicle ahead of me and it would be about 40 mins. I said ok, although I am confused as to way I needed an appointment if it is not kept promptly. SO I began my wait, and 2 hours and 15 minutes later I received my truck back. I was not offered the alignment sheet showing the tolerances. I had to ask for that, and upon receiving the spec sheet ti showed some of the alignment still out of tolerance. Then while driving my vehicle home, I noticed it handled worse then previous, I now have to keep constant pressure on the steering wheel to the right to keep the vehicle tracking straight. I feel this has been one of the worse vehicle experiences I have ever encountered. Why you advertise low tire prices and will not be beat and do only alignments ..( no parts changed), I would not ever recommend your store to anyone for any service. Bought tires here 8 months ago and one of the tires went flat after sitting in my yard while on vacation (defective?) . they advertise free flat fix so i thought i'd take it to the store near where i was and be on my way. great right? wrong.. not only would they not fix it-and claim it was not defective- it was unfixable because it was on the sidewall- ok.. i'm disappointed, but sure they would be sympathetic, take into consideration that i spent nearly $600 at their chain and only 5k miles on tire and at least match the price i paid for the original.. no!.. only interested in taking my money, clearly not my repeat business. Wanted to charge me the list price on their web site- "lowest price" baloney. I paid 30% less than that 8 months ago and they had the invoice in their hand. Gave me some bs about prices always changing and it was a long time ago! ....so drove on my 9 year old spare back to maine and got the same BS from the manager at the Topsham store where i bought them! rude, unsympathetic, accusatory, no consideration for past of future business.. NEVER AGAIN.. AVOID..POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, FALSE ADVERTISING... i went to a locallly owned famlly shop and not only were they sympathetic to my situation, they sold me the tire at their cost and installed it for free! less than i paid for at this snarky chain. Purchased 4 new tires only two years ago - along with the tire warrantee for full replacements. Well, last week I experienced my second flat and promptly brought it in for service. I was told that the tire was not fixable and the tires I originally purchased had been discontinued and it would take a couple days for them to ship up a replacement tire from out of state. I called them a few days later and the tire had arrived (not sure why they hadn't called me first) so I drove my car back in for repair. Initially, I was receiving good service from the desk staff - they were completing the warrantee paperwork so that I wouldn't need to pay for this new tire. I mentioned that I had hoped for better customer service - I voiced that I was surprised that I wasn't given a new, comparable tire when I first brought it in (I didn't feel safe commuting to work on the spare donut tire). The desk staff listen, nodded, was very polite - but then the assistant store manager interrupted our conversation challenging me on my claim of not being provided excellent customer service - "what do you expect us to do? put a new tire on your car and us not be able to charge for it? You think three days is too long to wait for a new tire?" Well, in my opinion - YES - I do think 3 days is a long time to wait for a tire when I'm standing in a warehouse full of new tires while I'm commuting on icy roads on a spare tire. The tone alone was very off-putting and somewhat combative - but he unwittingly proved my point about "customer service." Tires are expensive and there are a lot of options out there - based on my experience, I'd keep driving until I found another tire service company who appreciates and values customer loyalty. read more

Brought my car in to have the winter tires swapped. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT because I know that this can be a busy time of year. I also arrived 10 minutes early. After checking in and paying I asked how long could I expect to wait and was given the answer of 40 minutes (10 minutes to wait for a previous customers car to be finished plus 30 minutes for the actual swap). I took my two toddlers out for a leisurely snack across the street and returned 45 minutes later to find MY CAR HAD NOT EVEN BEEN TAKEN TO THE SERVICE BAY YET! The counter employee then told me he was going to take it right now so I sat down to wait with the kids. TEN minutes later he finally gets my car from the parking lot. Another FORTY minutes later my car finally emerges with the swapped tires. A heart felt apology and attention goes along way but I suppose since they'd already gotten my money any sort of courtesy and promptness was unnecessary. I would have given no stars if possible. My business and recommendations will be taken and given elsewhere from now on. read more
