I have loved Lee's for a long time, but this location has continuously been underwhelming. It's in a great location, but the space itself is both small and unappealing. It's fairly dirty and just looks unkept. The counter is so close to the entry door that most people stand outside. Most egregious has been both the increase in prices and quality of the sandwiches. Prices are now $8.69. It was just $6.50 a few months ago and I remember paying $3.00 just a couple years ago. The portion size has also dramatically dropped as the price has increased. We got there early when it opened. We had to wait a bit for our food as they were still prepping other foods and setting up for the day. The bahn mi wasn't as good as other locations. Some of my bites tasted like soy sauce which threw me off. The bread was still good, but less toppings compared to other locations. I don't recommend the spring rolls. They were just cabbage and shrimp and pork. No vermicelli noodles or other veggies. The spring roll sauce was off too. We were expecting the yummy peanut sauce but it was something totally different. I like Lee's every few weeks. But the customer service is something that can be worked on. You'll stand there waiting to be helped and never be addressed. My favorite casual place close to home for fresh baguette. I usually get two. I even use them in my recipes to make some of my soups creamy. I ordered the bbq pork banh mi. Loved the pickled veggies of julienned carrots and onions, fresh jalapeños, and cilantro. I was able to eat the whole thing myself and not feel too full. The pork is rather scant, BUT delicious. (I would suggest asking them to put some more pork in there if you're really hungry, but I was good with the amount.) Kim was super sweet and my order came out pretty quick! I switched out Swiss for American cheese. I got about 1/2 a slice on each pice of sandwich. It came with tomato. The most recent time I visited here I got a #5 grilled pork, Thai iced tea and a baguette. I always get an extra baguette to take home. I like eating them at home with butter or olive oil. They are also always warm. My pork sandwich was great, always popping with flavor from the pork to the cilantro, jalapeno and pickled veggies. The Thai tea was creamy and not too sweet. But seriously, this really is a freaking awesome coffee because it's sweet yet you can still taste the coffee flavor which I like. Stopped by here over the weekend on my way from San Diego back to LA! I am a bit glad I didn't really see these reviews because I might have not stopped by due to my previous experience at a Chino Hill's location of Lee's... but I actually had a good experience here! I was originally going to purchase 4 bottles of their Original Frozen Concentrate because I am OBSESSED with Lee's Vietnamese coffee. Sadly where I live in LA, the closest Lee's is a 1 hr drive for me, and thus I wanted to stalk up! When I was about to purchase, the lady working at the cashier told me I should get an entire case (6 pack) since it is pretty much the same price as getting 4 (just a dollar more). So I did! I also ordered my favorite #12 vegetarian Bánh mì. The bread was a bit tough, but other than that it was consistent with other locations! Their price points are cheaper than Chino Hill's Lee's location interestingly. Sandwiches were around $5-6, and the frozen concentrates are $5 each or a 6 pack for $21. I won't mind stopping by once again. If you're craving Lee's, I say give it a try! read more
