I love Lee! She's like an Aunty that remembers what's going on with me and at times, tries to feed me. Lol. I've been coming here like clockwork every 3 weeks or so for almost 6 months. That alone says a lot, I've never wanted to be a regular at a salon in all my years of getting my nails done. I usually get a gel manicure and every other appointment I get a pedicure too. I like to ask for Lee or Diane when they do my gels it lasts forever! Seriously, I can go for 3 weeks before I get the FIRST chip in my paint. Some things I appreciate: -I never feel rushed. Sometimes I get caught up in talking to everyone I slow my own nails down haha. -The shop is in a location where for once, I can actually feel like I've taken time out for myself. -They use lemon slices during the pedicure. Love that. -I feel included here. We all have been to places that were borderline hostile, rushing, or just so awkwardly silent you feel like you can't let your guard down. I came back here after my first try because Lee carried on a conversation with me. Also she has a cute dog named Amber haha. Lee even gave me a little gift at Christmas. -The one time I wasn't happy with the way my gels came out (sorry Dan, I'm spoiled with the ladies doing my nails). I called and explained it was chipping after 2 days. Lee had me come in to fix it then she did it herself, for free, within the hour and she thanked me for giving her a chance to make it right. That's another big compliment to my loyalty here, I'm for sure a ghoster when I'm uncomfortable with a place. -I haven't gotten into designs or anything fancy here, but my gels are strong as hell. The real gem with Lee's is that they don't strip your nails during removal. I've never had a place buff off old polish and save my nails. Usually they just drown them in acetone. Even after nonstop gel polish for months, my nails are still as healthy as when I started. Genius! -Great selection of colors -I always get an appointment when I call. Most of the time I ask for a day or so in advance, at times I go same day if I'm available. I drive 15 minutes each way just to come here. -It is a family run kind of shop and that's what I like about it. I don't want a dozen technicians who move fast but are quiet robots. Sure Lee has to multitask but she still pays attention to detail and my girl Diane does too. I want it to be clean, tasteful, and comfortable. That's what you get here. Anyway, go to Lee's! They told me it would be 10 minute wait till they could help me it turned out to be 30. He said he was not gonna file my nails down to get rid of the gel. but he did to the point where they hurt. The paint job oh my God let's not even talk about that this. It looks like a 10-year-old child did my nails today. This is the most horrible my nails have ever looked and I paid for this. I'm so pissed off right now. A new paint job isn't going to fix it because you can see the indentation worry file down from the gel versus the grow out where there was no gel. I never write reviews. I am hesitant to share my secret spot because I love them so much. I've been going to Lee and Diane for years. They are a smaller business with just these two ladies and Lee's husband. No matter who does my nails they are amazing but that's really not what keeps me coming back. They are friendly! I love to be recognized like family. I recently moved to Windsor, and noticed there was a nail salon literally next door to where I live. I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. Lee does an amazing job. She has done my nails a few times now, as well as my moms and my daughters. She pays such close attention to detail and fully engages in conversation. A great experience from the time I walked in the door until I left. It's a busy place so best to make an appointment. I appreciate that this is a family business so the service is very personal and respectful. Offered a nice cup of tea, the initial warm foot bath and massage chair were a nice way to relax. This was my first ever pedicure and they were very good at explaining the process. Over the course of a half hour I really enjoyed the treatment. I went to go get a full set and I honestly disliked them so much. I asked for coffin shape and she said it was going to be 5$ more and I was fine with it but the shape was so horrible. The guy that did them kept stopping throughout the whole process, he looked like he didn't even want to be there. Even my bf who doesn't even know about nails said to go somewhere to get them removed and fixed. Avoid this place. I suggest going to Shiloh nails in the Walmart shopping center. I am picky and fairly psychotic when it comes to my nails. I like them short, perfectly square, and meticulously symmetrical from all angles. That is exactly what I got from the lovely young lady that did my nails! Someone who actually gets what it means to square of your nails beautifully! Woo-hoo!! No streaks in my sheer pink fingernails (OPI Bubble Bath) and gorgeously dark toenails...she didn't skimp and made sure that the little guys were evenly polished (OPI Moor-something.) Plus she's a nice person, and we both enjoy her, her husband, and their adorable dog. It's been hard to find a good nail salon since we moved to the north bay. There are a lot of choices, but cleanliness standards are not consistent, and people in some salons we've tried are either careless or rude or both. They are amazing and I can say for sure anyone of Lee's staff is amazing and they know their stuff. Certain things they will point out and tell me I should go see the podiatrist for it. My toes always look amazing. The team here is very professional and the place is extremely clean. I got gel nails done here. My nails are thin normally. Well, they used a drumel on them before they started. My nails were too thin to have that done on them. They never looked to see the conditions of my nails before they started. The end results were nice, but now my nails peel, split and rip down past the nail bed. I talked to another esthetician and she said they should have never put Gel on my nails as they just can't take the harshness of it all. Now I'm paying dearly for doing that. read more
