My partner had the Vietnamese spring rolls and combo fried rice and that too was phenomenal. Overall, excellent experience with this food. It sucks that some people don't like this place much. I have trouble finding tasty hot and sour soup, and this place exceeds my expectations and will leave me craving the soup later. I'll come in and order a quart at a time, and I am trying their wonton today for the first time. Their hot and sour has fresh sliced mushroom mixed in the soup, I love that. We moved to Texas three years ago and have yet to find a place that cooks good Chinese food. Last night, Google Maps suggested Lee's Kitchen so what the hell, we tried them. The gentleman taking the order was super polite and even volunteered to bring the food to our car when it was ready. The smell was so great, we couldn't wait to get home to eat. The look of the food was beautiful, the portions were plentiful, and we thought we had hit the jackpot. I covered my Crab ragoon with sauce and broke it apart and that is when the horror began. I saw what looked like tentacles, I dropped my food and screamed. I told my husband that I thought there was a bug in my food. He was hoping not because he was really happy and digging into his food. When he broke the Ragoon open, it indeed held the body of a nice size Roach. I threw up all over him and the dogs who were only trying to see if I was okay. When he called the restaurant to let them know about my meal, the once polite gentlemen got offended as he explained to my husband that he had been working for this company for 12-15 years and nothing like this had every happened before. But if we wanted to bring the food back, they would gladly replace it with a different meal. Really?!! He pretty much just accused us of calling him back with a bogus claim then asked us to come back for another meal from the place that just served us a roach. He didn't even suggest the possibility of returning the $28 we just paid for these two meals we have to toss. But as I started reading the reviews about the Kitchen, at least one other consumer had complained of this same issue and had received the exact same response so I don't feel so bad with the way the gentleman changed to cover the restaurant and not the customer although he should be well aware that this is a health code violation and I plan to call them. I would have felt so much better if they would have said they would toss out any premade crab ragoons that remained in the kitchen just in case and have someone some in and check for pest as soon as possible. I really love this place. The food is some of the best Chinese food I've had in a while. They use actual chunks of white meat chicken (not the mystery chicken) on all their chicken dishes. The fried rice is nothing special but every one of the dishes I've tried are fantastic. I recommend the orange chicken. I'm constantly trying something new every time I order and have not been disappointed yet. The wonton soup is the best I've ever had. Another thing that is very convenient, is that you can order delivery online to avoid the difficulty of dealing with someone that barely speaks English on the phone. Also, the delivery guy brings a portable credit card machine when they bring it to your door which is super convenient since I rarely carry cash. We order several times from them it depends on who cooks it makes a difference how good it is but most of times it tastes good but I wish they could substitute the rice for low mein as an option plus they charge you $3.00 dollars for combo rice instead of the regular which is really too high price I think. Lee's Kitchen is pretty awesome. They are fast and their food is really good. It's always hot and the order is never missing any of the items ordered. They do have a great happy family dish and their teriyaki chicken is so good. All items are reasonably priced and their quantity is huge for the price. And I love that their delivery is super fast. The food was not really that good. My family and I ordered about 6 different items to try out and non of them stood out. For example, it was hard to tell the general sao's chicken from the sesame chicken. The taste was almost identical. The cream cheese wontons are just that, cream cheese in a fried wrapper. No chives, flavor or nothing. The Mongolian beef wasn't anywhere near what it was suppose to be. The food is usually pretty good, but avoid the delivery. They will deliver you food nearly cold after you have waited for an hour and a half. They are unapologetic about it and don't seem to want to improve their delivery problems. Cold Chinese food isn't worth $40 or more. read more

Ordered from Lee's Kitchen (universal city) last night, and it was by far the worst i have ever gotten from there. The ragoons were stale and tough. By that I mean i couldn't even chew them. The dough that wrapped the steamed dumplings was not like awon ton wrap. The wrap was thick. Also the gimger sauce was waaaaaay to spicey. The food used to be good. Not fatty but the sauce is lacking the Chinese flavor you are probably use to. I miss panda express chicken when i order there chicken... Also like others have said its soggy. I normally order pork fried rice and soup. Portions are very large. My family could split just one of there portions. Delivery takes a good hour! Be prepared for that.... I have used the take out option six times in the last two months. Each time, I have ordered the Chicken Egg Foo Young, and usually buy and extra brown sauce. Lately the request for omitting onion has been ignored, but the real deal breaker is the brown sauce. It was thick and would cling to the Egg Foo Young; very flavorful. Now it is so thin it pours like water. Sauce in the last three orders was without flavor, and seemed to be watered down to stretch the supply. Disgusting!! I received my food that was ordered for my family and there was a ROACH! Make no mistake, this roach was in the food! My mother and I saw it with our own eyes. I called very politely to let them know what happened and that I wanted a refund. The gentlemen on the phone started yelling at me that it was my house and that it was not him. This is ridiculous. I ordered delivery and was a bit worried because I looked at the reviews after I had ordered. I expected about a 30-45 minute wait but it took 1.25 hours instead. The people on the phone were really polite and even called to let me know the delivery charge would be more because I was outside of their normal area. Once the food finally got here, it was lukewarm at best, everything was soggy and the fried rice wasn't more than rice with soy sauce. It tasted like run of the mill Chinese, nothing spectacular. I called after 1 1/2 hours and they said he had one stop ahead of me and should be pulling up. 45 minutes later (9:15pm) the delivery man apologized for his "tardiness" then proceeded to charge me $2 more than what was on the original invoice. Now after waiting that long for dinner, I was sure I wouldn't be able to tell if it was good or bad, but it was terrible! Everything was just bland. No seasoning whatsoever. My experience with Lee's Kitchen was superb! I made a large order to have food for 50 delivered hot and on time for a surprise birthday party. Not only did this happen, but the food was very delicious, pleasing adults and children alike. I have never received so many compliments for catered food quality in my decades of party planning. Gabriel, the manager, personally handled my order and every detail was perfect. The driver was very courteous and efficient.
