We came for a late lunch, we were the only customers there when we arrived. Decor and furnishings were not that nice, and there was one booth filled with supplies. I apologized to the other members of the party because of my choice in restaurants, but I didn't expect it to be so good. We ordered a pad Thai, 2 sesame chicken, and an order of crab cheese wontons. Our soup was brought out very quickly and was very good - one wonton soup, one hot and sour. Hot and sour had a good mix of onions, mushrooms, tofu. Good flavor! No crab cheese wontons. The pad Thai was brought out soon after for another member in my party and she said it was very good. The portion looked large. The sesame chicken were both ordered as specials so included was the soup and either an egg roll or crab cheese wonton. Both other members of my party said they were some of the best wontons they had ever had. Service was good, but think our server (and likely owner) was running the whole show when we arrived. We never did receive the wontons, so ordered it to go. Server obliged, and brought out in a bag before we left. I went to pay, did not look at the bill (I know, that's on me). This place has the best chinese food I have found in the area. Their wonton soup is the best I have ever had. I usually either get the beef and vegetables or the sweet and sour chicken, they are always delicious! Update: Gave them another try. Ordered for pickup from their online website. Super easy. I paid in person. Got a text when food would be ready for pickup. Essy breezy! I ordered their house special chili oil wontons and general tso's chicken with white rice, crab ragoon, and egg drop soup. Food was plentiful for price and flavorful. House special chili oil wontons: I expected steamed or boiled wontons in chili oil, but the wontons were fried and then tossed in chili oil. While the wontons were nonlonger crunchy (my fault for picking up late), it was flavorful. Had a slight heat to it that wasn't over powering and the wontons were a pork filling. For an appetizer, it filled me up for lunch. It came with 8 fried wontons, but I expected them to be smaller. They were regular size. I was full from just the appetizer. Definitely will order this item again! General tso's: this was by far the best I've ever had and I love general tso's. What I look for is the heat and the crunch. It had both and it was plentiful for a lunch special. Definitely worth the price. It had more kick to it then the chili oil wontons, but not a lot to where it burns your mouth. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Edamame, Hot and Sour Soup and Wonton Soup. I received the Spicy Garlic Edamame, Hot and Sour Soup and Egg Drop Soup. I did order using the UberEats app, so it could be their mix up. My rating has nothing to do with getting the wrong soup. Even though, I was excited because I'm sick and I read a few reviews saying that the Wonton Soup was the best they've ever had. It was the entire reason for ordering from Chef Joe. The mediocre review I'm giving them is solely based on the flavor alone, which all items were lacking. I made sure to order a large Wonton Soup because I planned on heating it up later. Anyone that's ordered Egg Drop Soup before knows that it won't be the same when you heat up the leftovers. Much like Hot & Sour Soup, which is why I ordered that in a small. I had to throw away about half of the Egg Drop Soup. I didn't shed a tear over it though, because both soups didn't have much flavor. However, I did shed a tear for the money I spent, but life goes on. The Spicy Garlic Edamame had very little spice and zero garlic. I'm assuming they just tossed it in chili oil. I did enjoy it because it was cooked well, but I should've just gotten the Steamed Edamame for $2 cheaper. I'm not giving up on this place because I want to try a few of their entrée items. Their hours are listed as opening at 10:30 AM on Fridays, and their website offers online ordering. I placed an order at 10:31 AM, and it said it should be ready in 15 min (ie, by 10:46 AM). I arrived at 10:47 AM, and the "Open" sign wasn't lit up, but the door was unlocked so I walked in. It took about five minutes for someone to walk out from the kitchen to see me there. I said I was there to pick up an online order. He didn't speak English, so be called someone and I spoke to someone on his cell phone's speaker who said they didn't receive my order. I gave them my order number, and they just apologized and said they didn't have it. So I ordered in person and they said it would be about 10 min, which was true. Then they rung me up and I paid full price for everything. A good, customer-focused business would have taken the opportunity to earn a customer. Maybe offer 10% off for the long delay, maybe offer a free entree at the next visit... literally anything would have been a nice and appropriate gesture. So I finally walked out at 11:15 AM with my food, 30 minutes after their online ordering system said my food would be ready, and they did literally nothing about it (except apologize, which was appreciated, but only goes so far). As a business, if you open at 10:30 AM, then be ready to receive orders by 10:30 AM. If you offer online ordering, ensure that it works. If you inconvenience your customer, at least attempt to make up for it. The food is good, but their ability to open by their posted hours, their online ordering system, and their customer service are all in need of improvement. read more

Our families go to Chinese restaurant. I appreciate this family owned business, every time I walk in to pick up my order they are so kind and gentle. I opted for delivery this time and the chef himself was the delivery driver, I am very appreciative and wish many blessings over this business. Let's get to the food! Every order we have placed is consistent, flavorful, and never scarce. The ragoons are sweet and full of filling, I want to say there are lumps shrimp or imitation crab in the filling as well, so yummy. The entrees are always fresh and they are conscious in the way the pack their orders, the out holes in the styrofoam to ensure crisp and freshness remains by the time you sit down to eat if you're picking up or getting delivery, unlike other places where they let the condensation sog up the food. Craving Chinese the other night I always search based off of reviews and what business has the most stars and I stumbled across Chef Joe's. I had the shrimp lomein dinner special with fried rice, egg roll and wonton soup and general tso's chicken with fried rice, egg roll and wonton soup. I want to say my total came out to around $17-$18 so I was definitely happy with the amount of food I received for the price. The food was ready very quickly and tasted very good! The only reason they're getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because the fried rice was a little too peppery. It was a little too seasoned for traditional fried rice. Not bad, but not my favorite. The food and service at Chef Joe is always great. Deliveries are accurate and the food gets here hot. When you order something spicy, it actually has some heat. Though, your experience may vary based on your heat tolerance. One weird thing that made me laugh, and I'm not even mad at it because it was still delicious: I ordered lo mein tonight and the noodles were clearly linguine noodles and absolutely not lo mein.
