This review is long overdue. A few years ago Lee's was able to help me fix some simple jewelry items and was not very expensive. But now they have really impressed me and I am so grateful. My mother bought a watch at Tissot in Switzerland in the 80s. She gave it to me when I went to college. We both loved it. It sadly broke in the band area and no one was able or willing to fix it, even Tissot. It sat 10+ years in my jewelry box. Lees was able to fix it easily and for a very reasonable price! I was really scared to get my little baby ears pierced, but the process was really smooth, she got scared a little bit but the girl who pierced her lobes was really kind and patient, she was really nice and the atmosphere is really nice, feels like you are around family. Once again, Lee's Jewel Box came through for me. Over many years, I have taken my jewelry to Lee's for sometimes mundane issues--putting new backs on my earrings, e.g.--to more complex ones, like the time I broke a beaded necklace & the beads fell all over the floor. They restrung the necklace with all the beads put back in correct order & the new stringing was way better and stronger than the original. Last week, I took them a pair of favorite earrings that had been gold-plated, I wore them so often the original gold plate completely wore off. After first warning me "it might not take" they took my earrings to try & redo the gold plate. When I picked them up yesterday I started to cry. THEY DID AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS JOB! So if you have treasured jewelry that needs repairing, refurbishing or just cleaning, take it to Lee's! You will be very happy, just as I always am. We have been coming here for years. 25 years ago I bought my wife an ankle bracelet after all these years of her never taking it off her ankle the link broke she brought it over to Lee's and They sent it out for repair it took 10 days she had to call because they never called us! she put it on the first day made sure that it was on secure the next day when she came home from work the Ankle bracelet was gone! I brought my 25year old ankle bracelet here to be repaired. They said they had to send it out to be repaired for ten days. I called after ten days and they said it was repaired. I wore it for one day and it fell off luckily in bed. I wasted money on a incompetent repair. I went to another jewelry store and waited 10 minutes for the repair not 10 days . They didn't even charge me. Why they kept it for 10 days I'm still trying to figure that out stay away . A lot better choices elsewhere. read more

So I went to a jewelry store today to see about getting my God Daughter her ID bracelet. I seen one that I thought was beautiful and bought it. Lee's Jewelry Box is the store I purchased it at, and they gave me a small discount on it, and offered free engraving. They told me it would be about an hour and it was near the vape shop so I went to hang out there for a bit. When I went back to pick up the bracelet everything looked good except 1 letter which was a (t) it looked more like an (l) I asked if they could fix it so the guy helping me took it back to someone, and he comes back to me and tells me no. Then an old man comes out there back to tell me that, that specific font that's how the (t) comes out. My question to him was if the (t) isn't crossed all the way why would you continue to engrave it because he admitted to it looking like an (l) He got upset, didn't answer me, and walked away. I guess he went to the back and spoke to someone else because the guy helping me was called the the back again and then someone else took the bracelet. The guy helping me comes back to me and tells me he's going to try and fix it. So I waited another 5/10 minutes and went back in the store. Before I could walk to the back of the store where the counter was, the woman who sold me the bracelet came to the front showing me. When I looked at the bracelet I wanted to cry. It looks as if the guy who took the bracelet to "fix it" scratched it instead. I looked at her, and I told her are you kidding me. Are you kidding me. I took the box with the bracelet and the cover out of her hand and walked away. I promise from this day forward I will NEVER put another dollar of mine in Lee's Jewelry Box. read more

Recently, I went with a piece of jewelry that was my mother's that required some service. Howard spent perhaps half an hour on this - yet there was no charge. A case in point: a Jules Jurgenson womans' watch that the white gold band had to be made larger; I could not believe the end result, whereas the extension was perfectly matched. WARNING!!!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR JEWELRY HERE! I asked my Husband to bring my very expensive diamond/pearl earrings here to have the posts fixed. When the earrings were returned to me, I noticed the weight was significantly less then before and the pearl's were smaller in size. I could tell right away these were not the same. Unbelievable, that is what my experience was, unbelievably bad. I guess as Lee has gotten older he has become more cantankerous. I had a necklace repaired here. It was a simple solder job. When I picked up the necklace the solder job was obvious, sloppy and unpolished. I asked about it, the sales person showed it to Lee and expressed my concern. Lee then came over to me to explain why this simple solder job had been done so poorly. When I began to point out how we might fix the job Lee first interrupted me then insulted me and said I was being "uppity". Really? "Uppity" because I want the job I paid for to be well done? I let him finish then politely asked if it was my turn to speak, then before I began asked him not to interrupt me or insult me, I then tried again to suggest a way to fix. Lee again interrupted me to tell me this is his store and he'll say anything he wants, I again patiently and politely waited for this RUDE man to finish and asked for my money back (clearly he wasn't capable of doing anything other than a poor job) and can you guess what Lee said? Get ready; this is the truly unbelievable part... Lee said "fuck off lady" I can only imagine that his clearly defensive behavior is because he knows his workmanship was subpar. I have subsequently lodge complaints with the New York City and New York State departments of consumer protection and affairs along with the Better Business Bureau. I plan on telling everyone I know about this experience.
