Fish cooked perfectly? Yes…read more Wonderfully crispy and flavorful batter? Yes. Cooked to order while you wait? Yes. Chips nice and thick and chewy (in the best way possible? Yes. Prices reasonable? Yes. Everything gets eaten too soon and you wish you bought more (except for your too-full belly)? Sadly, also yes. Not sure how much more information you need to enjoy this delicious place.

Mister Chippy sits right in the middle of the Broadway and serves up no nonsense fish and chips…read more I have used these guys a couple of times and they aren't bad. The chips are not greasy and are cooked to order which is always nice. I have never gone for the fish (both times I have been passing on a whim and only had £3 on me), but the fish cake and the battered sausage have gone down well. The sausage may have been a touch greasy, but I guess that is more down to the product than the cooking method etc. Chips are either £1.50 or £1.80 and I made sure to get a smaller one on my most recent visit as the large size are just too many chips for 1 person. You could easy order to share. They will take telephone orders, if you don't want to wait around while they cook your food, but they do have a television to pass the time if you are having to wait. I guess that the place is run by a father/son combo and the son is pleasant and will usually take your order, whilst his dad tends to the fryers. Not the best fish hand chips I have ever experienced, but by no means the worst either.

This chippy was extremely hyped up to myself and my family as being the best in Haywards Heath back…read morewhen we lived there. We decided to get some fish and chips whilst we were back home and weren't very pleased... The fish that my step dad ordered was greasy and absolutely full of bones with possibly the thinnest batter ever... I ordered a battered sausage and a portion of chips my go to fish and chip order, and the the batter wasn't very flavourful and was very thin. The chips however were very good crispy with a soft inside seasoned with the perfect amount of salt and vinegar! Most chippy's always over salt the chips with a small amount of vinegar and it's overly salted and terrible... However this chippy's chips were rather pleasing!! Although I haven't been here for a while I was put off with the amount of batter etc...

Kingfish is a long standing chippy in Haywards Heath. There used to be a restaurant also, but they…read morehave now turned to just takeaway. I would class this fish bar a little hit or miss. Sometimes they have served top class fish and tasty chips. Other times, I have left with greasy chips that have been sitting in a scuttle and fish that seems a little rubbery. I think that some of this comes down to the day of the week, where they will tend to cook and hold some food under lamps on quieter days. This being the case, I would recommend giving them a try on a Friday or Saturday night when they are busy and cooking to order. This may mean that you have to wait a little longer, but as the saying goes "good things come to those that wait!". In this case, it rings true. The staff are also friendly, so it's not going to be the worst thing that you could do by having a chat for 5-10 minutes whilst your dinner cooks.
