    Roof stain. Day of purchase
    Hoang D.

Currently, I do not recommend Lee Toyota. Lets start with the positives and transition to my reasoning. I had a generally positive 4 star experience with purchasing my vehicle: 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum AWD. Priced at greater than $50,000. Reading the reviews from Google, Facebook, Yelp and Toyota, Lee Toyota seemed to be an excellent choice. The sales reps were friendly and upfront. They consistently followed up and offered to help in any way. Being seasoned with my history as a personal banker helping customers purchase vehicles, I appreciated that there wasn't a hostile sales environment. During the test drive, I noticed stains on the roof: Attempts from the dealer were made to remove the stains were unsuccessful. By the time I learned of this, the financing and paperwork was already complete. I was assured this would be taken care of by the time I return to have additional accessories installed. Earliest time I could be scheduled for the installation was 20 days after purchase. During this time, I had to personally follow up with my sales person for the progress. It felt like the sales experience was good up until the finalization of purchase and I was let go. Failed to follow up in a professional manner. There were open ticket items. No confirmation to make sure the stain specialist would be available for the appointment. Appointment was for 1:00 and I was quoted 3 hours, which I accepted. At 4:30, I asked for updates and was told that there had been some issues with fitting the side steps and a special tool needed was to be outsourced. I kindly requested to be out by 5 since I had prior engagements.  * This mishap showed Lee Toyota was not prepared for my service appointment, which was scheduled in advance. We had to reschedule for 9 AM the next day. I live an hour away.  * I would have appreciated updates especially at the 3 hour mark or even at the 2 hour mark and along the way while waiting in the lobby. Basic courtesy with customer service. Body side moldings were installed incorrectly. First, instead of washing the vehicle, they cleaned only where the moldings were and returned my vehicle showing spots that were wiped. (There are dealers that wash every car after even an oil change.) The moldings were not aligned to match. See photos. I return the next day after writing a letter to Sales manager and representative detailing the unfortunate events that have unfolded along with the stains. I was promised everything would be taken care of and given a small used 2017 Rav4 as a rental so they could address everything. It fit my dog's crate, which was nice. The following day, I was notified that my vehicle was ready and assured everything was addressed and checked thoroughly. The exterior looked great, they washed the whole vehicle this time, the body side moldings are fixed. It doesn't seem like they just readjusted and added additional adhesive. Time will tell. (Also reason for this review to keep them accountable should the part fall off or show poor workmanship.) Stains still there. Now the fabric looks frayed. I'm not a happy customer. Why wasn't this addressed? If an attempt was made, why wasn't I notified so we can work on solutions? Why are so many things looked over and quality sacrificed? Why is there not a quality control employee? Service manager was able to give me options such as replacing the headliner. You can see there are watermarks and have progressively worsened. We are still in process and my time continues to be wasted on making sure Lee Toyota is accountable for this fiasco. Now, my concerns is that if they replace the headliner. It's a task not commonly done. This could lead to more damage, which I don't want to further deal with. I would have to pay to take it to an independent inspector. If any error or broken part is discovered that will cause a foreseeable problem, I will have to go back and continue being my own advocate for something that should be extended automatically.

**BUYERS BEWARE** I don't leave many reviews but this one is needed to warn others. I spoke to Max at Lee Toyota in Topsham about buying a 2021 Toyota 4Runner Nightshade on 12/28/20. He confirmed it was available and we agreed on a price. I had a business check written out and we scheduled an appointment for 1:30pm on the same day. As I was driving down (1hr 45 min drive) I got a call and was told that another salesman sold the car. I'm confused as to how a business could operate like this so I spoke to Max's Sales Manager, Dylan. He confirmed that is indeed what they did because they had a buyer in the store wanting to buy it. I was told sorry that's the way it works. Do you think this is standard business procedures? Send them an email to ask so it doesn't happen to you. mlorber@leetoyota.com

They yucked up the rigorous quality testing of the CPO certification process and charged a premium for it. After the test drive I expressed some concern about the steering, which they shrugged off as only lane assist safety features that could be turned off. That wasn't true. The vehicle had a fundamentally flawed steering system. It steered under its own volition regularly which almost caused 3 accidents. They attempted to repair it for 4 months, of which they had it in their possession more than me. They did not have a clue what was wrong with it so they arbitrarily replaced the power steering column just to see if that might fix it (it didn't). Ultimately, they could not repair it and it still was unsafe to drive. Despite this-they tried to force me to pick it up and drive away with it. When I refused, they stripped me of my loaner and left me stranded without transportation while corporate continues to ignore me. They accepted zero responsibility and only honored that which the warranty I paid for required of them and even most of that I had to fight for. They refused to supply me with documentation of their diagnostic workup and findings, which is mandated by state law. They did nothing but make this terrible situation they put me in harder. In addition to that they never reported that I paid sales tax (Despite it supposed to have been in my financing. so I guess they pocketed that) so I had to shell out for that when I went to register the vehicle as well. Goodwin Volvo Review…read more This is my 15th new/CPO car purchase. I have only had one other bad experience aside from this one. It pains me to write this because I hate writing bad reviews. And really, the buying experience wasn't bad; it's the post sale support that's horrible. I had been looking for a specific combination S60 for a couple months and finally found what I was looking for at this dealer. I live in VA, a 12 hour drive away, but this car was exactly what I was looking for. I called and asked some questions. The car was allegedly an executives car who drove it around the NE to show what a fully optioned S60 looks like. So the car had never been registered. It had about 4500 miles on it: perfect condition. I decided to buy it and flew up to drive it home. The buying process was mostly ok. Some hiccups due to my spouse not being present, but still going on the paperwork-but we worked through that. By lunchtime I was on the road for my 12 hour drive. Here's where the issues start. About 30 minutes after leaving, I'm finally on the interstate for a distance and notice the car has a vibration. I call the dealer and ask a couple other questions and mention the vibration. I was told it was likely flat spots due to the car sitting for 2 months. I continued driving and the vibration never went away. Once I got home I took it to my local dealer and they found a 'very' bent rim. Luckily I had purchased the extended tire and wheel protection package, so the wheel was replaced. But after that, the dealer found 3 tires with a road force balance rate of 48, 51, 53; the limit is 15. I had a bad set of tires. Volvo corporate said tires are not warrantied by Volvo. The aftermarket warranty company said they only covered road hazard damage. I called Goodwin's on February 13, a Thursday and the sales manager was supposed to call me back 'shortly'. Friday came and went-no call back. I called Monday and I was told he was on vacation for the week. Great. So I called again the 24th at 9am. He said he'd look into it and call me back shortly. At 1630 I called back and he sounded frustrated I bothered him again, but promised to call me back by close of business at 1800. No call. Tuesday at 1330, I again called. He was mad I bothered him. Then said they did their job and he has the paperwork showing they checked the tires. Said I must have damaged them on the drive home. I mentioned I called Pirelli tires and they said there's no way I could do that type of damage, it's a manufacturing defect. He said 'that's bullshit, they don't know what they're talking about.' Yes. The tire manufacturer has no idea what they're talking about--anyway. I asked for copies of the paperwork from the CPO inspection he said he had. Now he backtracks and says he doesn't have it from balancing the tires but the technician remembers doing it (4 months ago at this point). Not likely. He abruptly said they are not going to do anything to help, no need to keep calling. I was sold an essentially new car with 3 bad tires and a bent rim. Despite it being CPO'd and buying all the extended warranties and service contracts, no one will do anything about the bad tires. I've had the car 6 weeks and it's been in the shop 2 of those weeks between diagnostics and waiting on the rim and trying to get an answer on the tires. For a luxury brand, I'm shocked at the lack of post purchase support. I've had Volvos before and they were great. Seems like another company that doesn't care anymore. Sadly, this entire situation has given me a very bad taste in my mouth for this car and I get pissed every time I drive it. So I'll probably have to sell it for a loss.

This was on a brand new 2022 honda with suspension clean enough you could eat off it. The alignment was such that they quickly starting cupping and by the time she noticed it, it was enough to see the damage.... so damage was already done. Her 2022 Honda Civic should have been crazy easy to align and balance. I just bought a brand new top of the line set of rubber for $1,200 in March 2025, and my prior tires were worn with low tread but literally perfect, not a trace of wobble from 50-80mph, and not a trace of uneven wear. Literally not a trace of uneven wear. The new set had a significant wobble as soon as I left. I brought the vehicle back a couple weeks later they claimed to adj the balance and adjusted the alignment. The Ford Edge still wobbles, characteristic of a bad balance job, so it feels perfect up to 55 or so then it wobbles up to 75 then it feels like no wobble. So it is definitely not balanced. My front tire now has a road sound that is not crazy loud, but I can hear it, so it is not aligned or balanced or some mix thereof. The sound is characteristic of toe being off, I think. The car still wobbles around 55-70mph, so bad it makes papers in my truck violently shake. I then bought a gravity alignmment tool at Harbor Freight, and checked my wheels balance at home. And sure enough, two wheels were significantly out of balance. I took the ford edge immediately to a Ford Dealership and said nothing for history, just it shakes a tiny bit and had a road noise that should not be there, and they adjusted my alignment which was totally off. The dealership showed the before and after. Front wheels are supposed to barely turn to the inside, common knowledge. Not perfectly straight on and not barely to the outside. My front right was barely adjusted to go to the outside. The VIP tech did not understand alignments, and someone adjusted one wheel in the wrong direction. When TODD was at Topsham, this was a well run ship, I always had spot on alignments with Gary the tech at the time, and never ever had severe balance issues. The VIP when the manager was Todd was awesome. The VIP with no manager named Todd is not good. The new manager and techs are not trained to be expert, they do not perform at an expert level, and should not be advertises as professional, tires are really expensive and between Katies set and my new set, the techs incompetence is really costing us. We will be looking around to go elsewhere and will spread to word to avoid VIP for now in Topsham for seemingly shoddy work. the video shows 4 seconds slow highway speed on rt 196 in a section with no bumps, cracks or potholes, see how crazy the paper wiggles. Ugh. Very disappointed. Update, the front right wheel was a whopping 1oz off. No wonder it wobbled. This was after two visits in a row to have vip the new tires they put on, the second they balanced them one was 1oz off. Dan Foshays in Hallowell repaired it correctly w road test balancing and the youngest tech in that place looked like 40, their office (dan Foshays) had 25 sq feet of certifications included a thank you from the BBB.
