Went there for severe lower back pain and was given minimalistic treatment. He utilized acupuncture and quickly, randomly placed needles throughout my body. I've had acupuncture done many times before and my experienced acupuncturist would carefully apply multiple needles after discussing the areas that's bothersome and attach electrodes for electric therapy. Dr. Lee's technique was haphazard and provided no relief. Furthermore, he tried to relieve my pain by having me stretch against his resistance, all of which was very fast and rushed. Didn't provide any patient education on exercises to do at home until I asked. The whole visit was probably less than 15 minutes and it felt extremely rushed, impersonal and unfocused. Here's the major warning- he's actually very money hungry, which is why he treats patients like they are on a conveyor belt. When I saw the bill for my less than 15 minutes visit, my jaw dropped. It was close to $450! I believe he does the very bare minimum, so he can input the necessary codes to bill your insurance. Very sketchy, not a trustworthy doctor. Did not help relieve my pain, rushed through the visits, and manipulating the system to squeeze every penny from his patients. Distant, fast and did not seem to care about your ailments. read more

When you give your Insurance ID over the phone, you'd think they would run it to see if you're covered. But instead they didn't call you back, nor did they call to confirm your appointment. Upon arriving, they say that there may be additional costs in addition to your Out of Pocket. I originally went to Dr. Lee for treatment for Bell's Palsey. However Dr. Lee also help me with a shoulder injury and arthritis. He is using a combination of acupuncture, alignment, and lidocaine. I saw a marked improvement in the Bell's palsey within two visit and my shoulder pain was gone by the second visit. I have also seen an improvement with my arthritis. Dr. Lee took my pain seriously, diagnosed my issue and treated it accordingly. He has excellent bedside manner. He made sure I was informed of and comfortable with anything he was about to do. I have severe lower back pain which radiates down my left side and a 3x3 inch numb area above left knee. He offered lidocaine shots which helped reduce the back pain, and then preformed targeted acupuncture on my numb area. I had never had acupuncture before and was both nervous and skeptical about its effects. Dr. Lee was patient and kind with me. He inserted one needle into my numb area and then a second one. The second one instantly released tension in my thigh muscles. I felt immediate relief. He allowed me to rest with a few needles, and after they were removed, my numb spot was smaller. I was feeling parts of my leg I hadn't felt in 13 years. We're continuing to treat what is effectively a consistent muscle spasm in my entire left thigh. I started seeing Dr. Lee almost 10 years ago for back pain and have since moved to the Chicago. Whenever I visit NYC, I make it a point to get a treatment from him. I've been to many different osteopaths on the East coast and Chicago and I still prefer Dr. Lee and his cozy office in Chinatown. While this is not one of those fancy zen-like medical spas (he probably could market himself that way and do well if he so chooses to), Dr. Lee is smart, well-informed, highly qualified, effective, efficient, and provides everything I would expect from a top-notch holistic health care professional. I prefer not to spend 3 hours at a doctor's appointment and he is so good at diagnosing my condition that he goes straight for the best treatment. As a long-time patient, I've come to see his huge repertoire of treatments and am amazed at his knowledge of both eastern and western medicine practices. What I love about Dr. Lee is that he is earnestly concerned about my well-being. He asks for immediate feedback so that he can adjust his treatment style as necessary. I always walk out of his office with relief and improvement. In some cases, he will show me exercises I can do between treatments to keep the improved condition or to prevent re-injury. He makes a genuine effort to heal me fully (sometimes with a few sessions) and to teach me exercises or improved habits so that I don't need to see him regularly for constant maintenance, as some doctors I've been to in the past have suggested. I injured my knees doing yoga but did not seek treatment expecting that my body would heal itself. I am a holistic healer by profession and did every therapy I knew to treat myself. However, 3-4 months later I couldn't walk without the assistance of a cane. I saw a specialist who recommended surgery. No thanks! I saw Dr. Lee after a glowing recommendation from a friend. I scheduled an appointment for the following day. During our visit, Dr. Lee took my medical history and then assured me that by ten treatments I would be back at the gym. That's precisely what happened. My knees improved with each visit, and after ten sessions I was able to resume my workouts. After my knees healed, we started to address other issues in my neck, shoulders, wrists, and arms that I have put off for years. Dr Lee sometimes offers acupuncture to treat my tight muscles which I am always grateful to receive, even though my insurance does not cover acupuncture treatments. I find Dr. Lee's manner to be professional, friendly, and personable. Though his treatments sometimes feel short and quick, they are efficient at re-aligning my body. I have also experienced being on his table for a good 20-30 minutes with the invitation to simply relax and heal. If I need to sit for a few minutes after an adjustment, there is time and space to do so. The office is well-lit and clean. The waiting room has adequate seating, and there are two private treatment rooms and two semi-private treatment rooms. The staff is always friendly, courteous, accommodating, and remember me by name. Depending on my schedule I either book appointments a month ahead of time on a weekly basis or call a day or two ahead of time. I went there because of a pain on one of my knee, and I was diagnosed with patellar tendinitis (patellar=fancy term for the knee; tendinitis=fancy word for inflammation of the tendon). I cannot speak for others, but definitely his treatment is not for me. I appreciate that he spent quite some time to explain his analysis of my condition on the first visit. He also did some treatment that seemingly helped alleviate my pain. On the following visits, I was directed to a smaller treatment room - as he seemed to have something else to do (maybe another patient?) in the main practice room. The following visits lasted for about 15 minutes (maximum), and mainly involving shots of Lidocaine - which works like a numbing agent, and some physiotherapy-like exercise. At least for me, it does not work to address the underlying problems. He always offers me to give acupuncture for free - which I always politely reject. I am surprised to check my insurance bill. I am not familiar at all with the pricing of medical services - but feel like the charges are excessive. Please make sure you know that this is what you want/need. read more

To update my thumb condition, I ended up seeing a REAL orthopedic surgeon from NYU. It turned out the last thing I needed for my thumb was a lidocaine injection since it is only a mere anesthesia (it only numbs the pain but will not treat the underlying cause). This proved my initial suspicion about Dr. Lee. He really doesn't care about patients and will only see you as money-making machines regardless of your condition. I was recommended to Dr. Lee after I had suffered a few athletic and stress related injuries to my neck, back, and hip. Although I had been doing physical therapy, the results were hindered by immense muscle tension that would not subside even with massage therapy. After just a couple visits to Dr. Lee, the muscles in my back and neck had loosened enough that the benefits from PT were much greater. In addition, pain I had been experiencing for YEARS was greatly reduced!! I've been going once every week or two for about 6 months because that is what works for me - i've never felt like I was being held as a patient for monetary gain. for the first time of visit, i told him my syndromes, dr lee did not conduct detail diagnosis to me (he did not check whether it was the tendon or ligament injury, which pair of muscle was injured) he simply helped me to stretch my body and told me maybe it is tendonitis. the second time i came he applied similar therapy to me again. when i further asked for advise, again he didnt conduct any checking for me, he said it might be the knee problem. i was so confused...if he is not sure, i think he should refer me to another specialist instead of this! read more
