She also does notice some issues most doctors won't which is a great thing. But that's about it. I switched to her a few years back mainly to treat Hypothyroidism, thinking she'd be able to advise on holistic treatments. I believe the main issue is the administrative side of her office and her staff is extremely unfocused and disorganized. Basically: you go to one appointment - dr Polina does take the time to listen - and then you are recommended several supplements based on the issues you describe. She's not making money off of them as you just get them yourself later. BUT, there's no follow up whatsoever and she doesn't seem to remember what she told you to take. Not to mention the "treatment" was never written down, just loosely relayed during the appointment, so you always leave confused. So what happens is you spend your money on buying supplements and have to remember to take (several) but you're not sure if they really make any difference as there's no talking about it next time unless you purposefully ask about each. It's not my job to remind her what she prescribed last time! It's like there's not a real treatment in place. And the recommendations feels a bit impulsive and confusing. She claims to be holistic but I don't feel I'm treated as a whole nor that my "treatment" makes sense in the big picture or treating me holistically. It's an "aloof" kind of situation which brings your anxiety up instead of really making your quality of life better. Her staff is quite a mess, majorly her main secretary. She's probably been there for years and acts like the gatekeeper but is not that helpful. Many times specially after pandemics they don't really pick up the phone despite working from their home. You leave a message and no one gets back to you. I'm fine with waiting 1-2 days to hear back, but the thing is they don't get back at all. I've ran out of meds for days now and just gave up. I'll go back to my old doc and get new prescriptions from him instead. Not to mention I don't think she's a specialist in thyroid treatment whatsoever and I'm having horrid symptoms since the last time she changed my meds. Fatigue, wild temperature fluctuations and feel like I'm running on empty. It's actually a good thing I ran out of meds as I can tell some horrid symptoms are gone and it was prob the meds she recommended. With all of this, I'll have to go back to my old Thyroid doctor. But the lack of follow through and a clear, defined course of treatment on medical issues is making me leave and not wanting to come back. Forces Surgery and Unnecessary Meds--Stay Away!…read more I visited Dr. Hardart in August 2020 when I suspected I needed surgery to remove my fibroids. Without even looking at MRIs she told me I'd needed surgery. This was immediately a red flag, because why was she discussing surgery in my first appointment especially because all she had was a report from my ultrasound--not even the images! She insisted to do a vaginal exam on me, so I agreed. I told her in my appointment that I usually only bleed for about 10-14 days, but it's extremely light after 7 days. She prescribed me a medication that is for people who bleed heavily, I never picked up the prescription. I bled from my vagina heavily for 18 days after this exam--this has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I did go to the ER and when I told the ER gynecologist what happened and the prescription Dr. Hardart prescribed, even the gynecologist thought Dr. Hardart sounded shady. I don't know what Dr. Hardart did during my exam to make me bleed that much and for so long, but I never went back to her.

I didn't have to wait extremely long as other patients stated but if there was a wait I think it was because she takes time to go over things with you and might cover other things than what you expected in your visit. I waited maybe 30 minutes my first visit and ten minutes on the follow up visit. The office is lovely in a good location just be prepared to wait for the elevator because this building is notorious for its slow and out of order elevators but at no fault of the Dr. Also it's a door man building. Their protocol is for you to get billing codes for procedures from them and check with your insurance to see if you are covered. If you don't mind having to call your insurance company it's no big deal. I got an email from the Drs office saying it was because they don't have the resources to call on every procedure and it's to avoid any surprise bills but my insurance told me in writing if any procedure performed is not medically necessary the office has to inform you before it may not be covered and get written consent you accept that and the patient is not responsible otherwise and there should never be. The Dr wanted to go over my first visit test results by televisit and they have a form you have to sign by email but they said they would mail it to me but said also verbal acceptance was only necessary not signed form so there sometimes is a bit of miscommunication of information at the front desk so just follow up. Also if you want to write the office with a question apparently there is a portal as well that you have to set up a televist which the Dr prefers.
