Dr. Withers is absolutely fantastic: she is caring, straightforward, supportive of my health goals, and gives me concrete advice about weight loss, eating with an eye toward the best possible nutrients for continuing to keep cancer out of my life, how to reduce stress, etc. I have never left her office feeling like I've been talked at, but that I've had an actual conversation. It's refreshing. Dr. Withers is also very quick to respond to questions via email, and calls me in a very timely manner with regard to test results, etc. She has a great bedside - well, in my case, I suppose chairside, manner - both gentle but not nonsense, and is comfortable discussing either alternative therapies (she recently recommended an acupuncturist for my migraines) or traditional medicine (i.e., she sent me to a great oncologist to stay on top of my twice-yearly visits to make sure I'm still cancer-free). She's an amazing, attentive and responsive doctor. The woman previously who reviewed Her was essentially writing on behalf of her husbands account of his visit. I don't think that's very fair as you can't accurately review a place on behalf of someone else's experiences. Especially something as personal as a doctor. I think the previous reviewer should let her husband review her. Not that I feel the need to defend her, because her work and stands alone as enough of a positive reputation but I realized I had not reviewed her yet and that people needed to get the true review of her ability. During my first visit with her, I too, like the negative reviewer, wanted blood work and a full check up. I have no idea what the previous reviewer is talking about, but I felt like Dr. Withers thoroughly got to understand who I was, any health concerns and all of my future health goals and my family history. My first appointment was at least 30 minutes ( you schedule appointments based on what you want done) and she scheduled a blood panel in accordance with a combination of my concerns and that which she deemed necessary. Insurance isnt such that you can just tell the doctor you want it to check 500 things and they do that. Insurance will only cover certain blood tests in a standard screening. A typical blood screening will cover a handful of key items and then if they find anything of concern, they check those after. To say a doctor is condescending if they don't test you for 25 superfluous things because they think they know better than you makes no sense. Chances are incredibly high if you aren't a doctor.... THEY know better than you. How pissed would you be if you scheduled all those blood tests but your insurance wouldn't cover them and some curious blood test for you turns into $1000 bill from QUEST. Anyway, any time I email Dr. Withers she is incredibly responsive to email (within an hour generally) and she knows me well enough now we are able to both chat personally and makes me feel comfortable enough to ask even seemingly embarrassing questions. When she isn't available (very few few times) she always has a recommendation for another doctor in the office and the doctor is NEVER clueless about me when I come in since Dr. Withers takes impeccable notes. I always feel like she gives me every minute of my appointment never ever trying to rush me out. If I have 15-20 minutes, she will answer every related medical question, every unrelated to my visit medical question , and if there is time, we chat about books or cooking. After all that, she's so patient and answers questions so thoroughly and always always asks me if I have any other concerns. I am so happy with her, I've never had such a great doctor.

If you have…read moreany strange, lingering health issues that traditional doctors and specialists aren't adequately treating (or even mostly dismissing in my case), I highly recommend you give Dr. Weiss a call immediately! The symptoms that brought me there (such as unexplained, constant and physically uncomfortable burping, haha yes I know, objectively funny but, I promise, it was not fun) are now 99% gone and--as an added benefit--I no longer get migraines and have much less fatigue. What else could I ask for? Like many other reviewers (I agree wholeheartedly with everything in Farhan C.'s review), I will also add that I am very, very, very skeptical of alternative treatments. I stumbled upon the Morrison Center only after going to a PCP, multiple gastroenterologists, and a breathing specialist for my 2+ year condition. (Even my gynecologist had better ideas than the dismissive, old, white, male gastroenterologists!) Before going, there are some things you should know. In order for Dr. Weiss and the Morrison Center to successfully treat you, my must: (1) go in with a very OPEN MIND, try to limit your eyerolling, and be willing to adapt your life to follow their treatment plans. For me, one of these was a major dietary overhaul that continues to be very challenging and very frustrating. But guess what? Feeling better is worth it. (2) Be ready to answer lots and lots of random health questions. My initial intake was an hour and a half! I have never been given SO MUCH ATTENTION from a physician. It was refreshing for a doctor to actually have enthusiasm, have a PLEASANT BEDSIDE MANNER, and be committed to explaining medical minutiae to you. He wants you to understand what is going on with your body and his knowledge is insane! In this initial intake, Dr. Weiss immediately identified several potential issues which, with testing, were confirmed and treated with a mix of dietary changes, antibiotics, herbals, and supplements. I continued to go back, we made adjustments gradually, and things worked. (3) You must know that THEY DO NOT TAKE INSURANCE. Going there was a challenge financially so I've had to cut my treatment short BUT it was worth it. It was worth making some sacrifices to go there. You cannot put a price on your health. (4) Again, keep going with it and keep an open-minded. (But it is ok to retain some of your skepticism. For example, if he tells you that he thinks that your lifelong dark circles will go away you can laugh. That didn't happen during my year of treatment and I will go to my grave convinced that will never happen. No hard feelings though, Dr. Weiss!) Unfortunately, I have to cut my treatment shorter than I'd like because financing this is tough. They are expensive--wouldn't it be nice to be rich and have premium healthcare?! However, Dr. Weiss was respectful to this during my treatment. He gave me recommendations for certain supplements and other options that were more affordable than some of Morrison's own products. He switched one of my prescriptions to get a more affordable option. In sum, I didn't particularly feel like Morrison was trying to jam their own products down my throat and continue to milk my bank account dry. There are a few other lingering things that I would like to eventually treat. Dr. Weiss seemed to respect this and encouraged me to come back if my financial situation changes. My only complaint is that getting Weiss on the phone takes longer than it should. I understand he is busy but I had to wait over a week for a call back. I had made a call on a Monday morning, a Thursday afternoon, and another call on the following Monday before finally getting a return call. Another time when I was responding badly to some of the minerals I didn't bother calling because I didn't feel like leaving a message with reception and not being sure if it got to him. Not sure where the oversight was here but this is something that should be improved. In person, however, the Morrison Center is PERFECTION. Bottom line: All worth it. I cannot thank Dr. Weiss enough. It was a flat rate of X dollars each year. Recently, Dr Lillie quietly only renewed for 6 months (conveniently right before NY goes legal and we won't need her script anymore since anyone can now purchase without a medical reason). The dispensary noticed this and notified us they could not continue to give us meds because of this. When we called Dr Lillie, she offered to fix the problem FOR ADDITIONAL MONEY!!! This is the sign of a Doctor who is in things for the money. Not a good sign for anyone seeking the care of a genuinely caring individual. Secondly, this would be a great time to mention that my family member was never happy seeing this woman because she always rushed her out of her office! And old lady at that!! At 27 I had a recurring rash that was diagnosed in the emergency room as shingles and that doc gave me a prescription for meds. The pain and rash left when the meds ran out, but then it came back. I took the empty pill bottle to another doc that refilled the prescription without looking at my skin or doing any tests - blood, urine, allergy, nothing. I mean who does that?! A friend recommended Dr. Englert. He and I went through the ringer to diagnose my ailment. At one point, he went to a seminar and told me my symptoms were discussed and he wanted me back in to test for something else. The mere fact that diagnosing my crazy skin was such a concern of his, meant the world to me. Dr. Englert has my medical allegiance, God forbid he stops practicing!
