I found Lei by accident when I stumbled upon him first in Chinatown. I was desperate for relief from my carpal tunnel pain and at that point, was willing to try anything. My carpal tunnel had been acting up for the last 2 weeks and it was getting to a point where I was having difficulties even buttoning my jeans. I walked around Chinatown looking for an answer and decided to test my luck with Acupuncture. To my luck that day, Lei was there and worked on my hand. He first asked me a series of questions and then examined my hand. Looking for pressure points, comparing it to my left hand, etc. He said my situation was severe and I would need multiple treatments and I said I did not have time and asked him to make the impossible happen with 1 treatment. To my shocking amazement, right after he put the needles in, it was instant relief. I could feel my wrist go from throbbing, to feeling not as irritated. I could feel my fingers again instead of them being numbed by the pain I felt. After the needles came out, he did some manual therapy, massaging my hand and making sure everything was where it was supposed to be. I still felt pain after the treatment but it was much more bearable. I thanked him and said goodbye that day, not thinking I would ever see him again. This was 8 years ago. The next day after that treatment, I was mobile again. I was able to button my pants, eat, type and do all the normal things I was having difficulty with when the pain started. On day 3, it was like I didn't have carpal tunnel anymore. For the next few years, I went about life as if this incident never happened. I didn't have any flares, no pains, nothing. Until 4 years ago. The same torturous pain came back once more. This time, much more severe as I was older and of course, my wrists have taken a much heavier beating from the years of heavy typing. Lei immediately popped into mind, but I didn't have a name, number or address for him as it was a one-time treatment. I had tried several other acupuncturists in midtown near where I worked and not a single person was able to help me with the pain. Not only was I feeling pain in my wrists, my fingers had gone numb, which then really scared me. I went back to Chinatown in desperate search of the doctor that once helped me before. I walked into the shop where I first met him and decided to try treatment with another acupuncturist there. The lady was kind but stuck about 50 needles into my hand and not a single needle relieved any pain at all. I had kindly asked her to stop at that point and she had left me to sit there and wait for the needles to work their magic. When she came back to take out the needles, I decided I had nothing to lose and asked about the doctor that had helped me years ago. I only had a description of what he looked like. I didn't even know his name at the time. I asked the lady if there was a younger doctor that worked there, male, tall, more muscular set. At that point, she was very reluctant to say anything but quietly mumbled yes. She got up, and dialed his number, and put him on the phone. I didn't remember his voice at the time but asked to set up an appointment and referenced I was his patient a long time ago and that he helped me with my hand. He agreed to set up an appointment to meet and start treatments. The following week, we met up, he re-assessed my situation and I formally started on normal treatments. Since then, I have gone consistently for not only my hand but for my neck, hips, back and shoulders. Lei has done such an amazing job over the years, helping me maintain my carpal tunnel. I have had a lot of mishaps with my right hand. From carpal tunnel, to tendonitis, to developing trigger finger, then having multiple relapses in pain, etc. Lei has been there for all of it and has been able to put me back together every time to the point where I could function normally without any pain at all. I have since followed him to his new midtown location and don't intend to stop treatments. I was skeptical, until I experienced it myself and I would never recommend anything that I didn't truly believe in. Lei is hands down, the best acupuncturist there is and his treatments truly work.

I was promised "no problem... 8 sessions and you will be perfect" and then went on to spend over $3000 to feel not better, not the same, but worse. Any relief was VERY short lived, I did EVERYTHING he said, and followed EVERY protocol "homework" to the TEE. I held my breath from the smell, covered my eyes from the needles overflowing in the garbage can, as well as on the floor, disregarded the dirty office space and even brought my own wipes to clean the head holder on the table that was NEVER cleaned. I did all of this with the promise and belief that I would feel better and "100% avoid surgery" as he said. My symptoms are far worse than when we met. Lastly, his EXTREMELY unprofessional and unethical behavior in not returning calls or texts has pushed me over the edge. It is my fault for believing this person and the ONLY reason why I chose to write today, probably the ONLY negative review I have EVER written, was to be of service to anyone who is considering working with this person. He talks a good game and I was desperate. I would NEVER EVER recommend or go to Lei, if he was the last person on earth.

I wrote a review for a neurologist who comes across as nice but lied to me. Just because someone is…read morenice doesn't mean you should still question their motives. Please question and to the truth when it comes to your health and healing the right way. Some drs may have good intentions yet still be tempted to see what they can get away with when they have an agenda and use their power to achieve their agenda. That was my experience throughout my journey to heal until I found dr shaobai Wang . With dr Wang I started healing. And this what I wrote about the unscrupulous neurologist, urging patients to go see Dr. Shaobai Wang who REALLY KNOWS WHAT HES DOING: Dr Larissa Lempert is a nice person, but used her niceness to lure me into spending out of pocket money for cupping. It is illegal for her to practice acupuncturist techniques without a license. Should something go wrong, she can lose her practice. She knows my situation. I spent the money out of desperation to heal my pain, but to no avail. She gages your pocket and tries to convince you to spend money on her program because she needs to generate income to heal her children. She also uses psychology to get in your head. She knew I wanted to have children and made me believe at first that the infrared lamp was to treat the mitochondria for fertility. Every acupuncturist has an infrared lamp. She is not a fertility expert and cannot help anyone with fertility. She's a liar. She doesn't have anything she's promoting in her brochures. I had migraines and after seeing Dr. Shaobai Wang (who treats just about anything - migraines and fertility), I was feeling good after just 1 session and didn't spend what I wasted on dr lempert. I urge people to see Dr Shaobai Wang. He's a master in acupuncture and KNOWS what he's doing and has morals values and ethics to not rip off people out their pain. After 5 sessions with dr Wang , I was feeling happy and healthy again. I asked her to refund me the $3,200 so I can apply it to my holistic healing and refused. She knows I'm about natural healing and she's pretending to know how to use energy to heal. Don't spend on dime out of pocket. She has no integrity and is probably using her kindness to build back up her reviews. She's not truly honest. She assumes and uses psychology. She has anxiety, and I recognized it because I was suffering from anxiety and migraines. She's really desperate to heal her kids but she's not doing it the right way by ripping peoples pocket and lying. The only way she can heal her kids is through natural remedies and that cost a lot of money in America. Hence, the program she talks about. Don't do it! She doesn't know what she's doing when it comes to natural healing. She shouldn't lie to her patients just because and use her power just because she knows the right way and the expense to heal someone naturally. She knows who she can lure and who she cannot. After seeing Dr. Shaobai Wang my headaches and anxiety were gone

She has seen another TCM doctor before but she was recommended Lin Sister. We didn't have an appointment and luckily they were not very busy. You fill out the form and they give you a number. The TCM doctor call you by that number. The clinic entrance is in the back of the shop and up one flight of stairs. We waited for about 15-20 minutes and was seen. He held her wrist and listen/feel the pulse. He asked a bunch of questions and wrote down a bunch of notes. He asked if she was sleeping good? Do you get up to use the bathroom middle of the night? Do you have headaches? Is your mouth dry? Are you pooing once a day? After 15 minutes of this, he gave her a list of Chinese herbal medicines to purchase downstairs. Told her to come back and see him in about a week or two after she is done with the meds. The modern (Americanize) TCM is now in packets and you mix them in hot water for consumption. The boiling actual herbs and ingredients in a pot days are gone! Interesting! Not sure what I make of this but what I can tell you is that my friend didn't feel any difference. I understand it's not magic potion and it takes time. A couple of months later, my friend saw a specialist and had a bunch of testing and blood work. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. :-( Consultation $40 Herbal Meds $8 for a set x 7 days.
