I've accompanied my dad to see Dr. Chen twice now (once in 2023 and once in 2025) and he has a great demeanor. Very calm and understanding. He asks a lot of questions to get a better idea of which herbs to prescribe and is very efficient with measuring everything out. He basically has a bunch of drawers full of herbs and will then portion them onto placemats (using a gloved hand) before putting each combination into bags (we usually buy ten bags worth of herbs). He speaks English and Mandarin, and he provides clear instructions on how to consume the herbs and foods to avoid. We try to pay in cash when we come. read more

A friend recommended Jeffrey Chen after I suffered a dance injury (ballet) that tore the area between my hamstring and glute. After a couple of sessions the area felt much better.Recently, the person who administered my booster shot at CVS mis-shot me in the bursa near my shoulder bone and left me injured so that I could not move my arm easily or without pain. Life changing! I have suffered from acne since the age of 13, I am 27 now. Didn't see Dr. Chen on Yelp so I had to add him. This is a Chinese herb shop and acupuncture joint. I went here yesterday as a referral form another acupuncturist who was booked in the area and Dr. Chen was great - very knowledgeable and experienced (and I've had many acupuncture sessions). I had screwed my back up and I went here to help heal for a race I had coming up - massive improvement. Bunch of needles, checked on me frequently to adjust them, had some nice music too. This isn't a "spa" though, it's a place to heal - so if you need great acupuncture, definitely consider this. Afterwards he gave some herbs to help with circulation and recovery for a few days and was nice enough to throw in some "bonus" herbs as well. First visit for acupuncture is $80, and every thereafter is $60. No credit cards accepted, but there's a Chase ATM nearby. read more

Jeffrey Chen attempted to treat my neck and upper back pain. The result is that after the treatment my pain went from a 5 to a 9 (on a scale of 1 - 10) and has not gotten better since the treatment (6 days ago.) I am now reverting back to Advil, a neck brace, and ice to get back to at least where I was with my level of pain before my visit with him. I have the feeling that I may have some nerve damage that was aggravated by the acupuncture. I called Chen today to thank him for trying to help me, but that I would not be returning because of the increased pain. And he became defensive and said that I said I was feeling better right after the treatment. I explained that immediately following the treatment may not have been the best time to ask. I explained that soon after I left the office the pain was worse and has not gotten better. The call ended there. read more

I went to Dr. Chen for a pinched nerve and muscle spasms. He made me feel very welcomed alomg with his staff. I had only done acupuncture once before and was a little nervous but he made me feel so comfortable with his little jokes. I have never been to an acupuncture previously until got this stroke alike nerve inflammation last month, bell's palsy syndrome made half side of my face paralyzed..i just knew need to find an expert asap before it's too late. Initially I had wanted an appointment with Dr Yaoshen Cai since he had amazing yelp reviews but couldn't see him for 5 days since he was booked up. I'm so so glad I went to Dr Chen instead. My lower back was almost completely cured with one session with him. He gives personalized attention,explains everything to you in detail and is really kind. It was my first time getting acupuncture so I was very apprehensive - but he was so patient. Will definitely recommend going to him. I opened a yelp account to write a review about Dr Chen. He does incredible work. A friend recommended him to me in an emergency when I strangely threw my neck out for no apparent reason and within an hour had only 1 inch of mobility to my right. My friend told me she was recommended by a circle of professional dancers. This seemed promising and luckily he squeezed me in that day. I was in a very bad state when I arrived, needing assistance to simply sit down and get up, reach into my bag, take off my bag... I was in a lot of pain. After my appointment I could look all the way to my left and right in both directions and walk at a normal pace. It really was incredible. But maybe what was more helpful was that he knew the psychological origins for what seemed to me, a total fluke injury. He gently explained that this was actually an old injury, from acute emotional stress. I knew exactly what from. I was so impressed by the way he helped me, very to the point, but kind and with a funny humor about his effective nature, everything you want from a doctor really, and without skipping a beat when he sensed that I was momentarily reeling a bit from all this revealed information said, "Don't think too much about history.
