I've accompanied my dad to see Dr. Chen twice now (once in 2023 and once in 2025) and he has a great demeanor. Very calm and understanding. He asks a lot of questions to get a better idea of which herbs to prescribe and is very efficient with measuring everything out. He basically has a bunch of drawers full of herbs and will then portion them onto placemats (using a gloved hand) before putting each combination into bags (we usually buy ten bags worth of herbs). He speaks English and Mandarin, and he provides clear instructions on how to consume the herbs and foods to avoid. We try to pay in cash when we come. read more

He's a nice man, but the series didn't help me at all with a nerve problem. I guess every case is a little different, maybe it's effective for other things. read more

I should have written this review earlier . . . maybe I'm afraid too many people will find out about Dr. Chen and he'll be too busy to see me :-) His consultation fee, herbal medicine and acupuncture are all reasonably priced and super-effective along with his dietary advice. He's seen me on short notice and while I'm in Chinatown I often get a delicious meal. Dr. Chen is friendly, concerned, reasonably priced and effective! read more

When I leave l feel much lighter on my feet , he knows what he doing my feet don't hurt anymore

I was referred to Chen Jeffrey Acupuncture by a coworker who shares the same office stress zones as myself. Honestly I am thrilled that I took her advice and checked this place out. I had never experienced acupuncture before, but Dr Chen walked me through it and was more than helpful with all my questions/concerns. The session actually helped alleviate some stress and he really helped me figure out a few solutions, aside from acupuncture. I will be going back for a follow-up appointment immediately! read more

A friend recommended Jeffrey Chen after I suffered a dance injury (ballet) that tore the area between my hamstring and glute. After a couple of sessions the area felt much better.Recently, the person who administered my booster shot at CVS mis-shot me in the bursa near my shoulder bone and left me injured so that I could not move my arm easily or without pain. I have seen Jeff a couple of times and already feel MUCH BETTER. He is very knowledgeable; patient; and will put you at ease. He is a true healer and very much part of my health maintenance. He is the REAL DEAL Also, needles always freaked me out and he puts you at ease, explains everything. Total ZEN VIBE. **Also please note that Dr. Chen is very careful in COVID times. He is masked. He works in two private rooms and patients do not overlap. You wear a mask during acupuncture but he is careful (and checks) that you can breathe throughout the session. read more

I've walked past Jeffrey Chen's storefront location many times and today I decided to try his treatment for an inflamed elbow. I have had acupuncture before and a big part of his success is his calming nature. He treated my elbow as well as asthma and I felt great at the end of treatment. I will go back when I need some further treatment read more

Didn't see Dr. Chen on Yelp so I had to add him. This is a Chinese herb shop and acupuncture joint. I went here yesterday as a referral form another acupuncturist who was booked in the area and Dr. Chen was great - very knowledgeable and experienced (and I've had many acupuncture sessions). I had screwed my back up and I went here to help heal for a race I had coming up - massive improvement. Bunch of needles, checked on me frequently to adjust them, had some nice music too. This isn't a "spa" though, it's a place to heal - so if you need great acupuncture, definitely consider this. Afterwards he gave some herbs to help with circulation and recovery for a few days and was nice enough to throw in some "bonus" herbs as well. First visit for acupuncture is $80, and every thereafter is $60. No credit cards accepted, but there's a Chase ATM nearby. read more

Love this guy, like seriously! He figured out what was going on with my stomach after a trip to London. No Western doctor could figure out what was wrong with me! 3 days of brewing those awful tasting herbs and I was cured. Thank you so much Doc! read more

Life changing! I have suffered from acne since the age of 13, I am 27 now. For 14 years I've tried different skincare products, supplements, gut health products, have gone to dermatologists, and aestheticians, none of these gave me results. I knew there was something deeper going on, perhaps energetically. I wanted to find a holistic alternative that is natural and could help me long term. A coworker recommended Chen for acupuncture and I am so grateful she did. He has great bedside manners, very informative, he explained my energetic/hormonal imbalances (the yin and Yang), foods to avoid, positive lifestyle tips, and created an herbal tea concoction to cleanse my body. In one month, my face dramatically changed and my acne has SIGNIFICANTLY reduced! I only have scarring at this point, which will fade away over time. I cannot recommend Jeffrey Chen enough! I used to cry in the shower because of how bad my face stung and hurt thinking this is something I just have to live with, and now, I can apply skincare products without the fear of a reaction, and I depend less on makeup and am more confident. I continue to go in for acupuncture, follow Jeffrey's advice on foods to avoid, and take the herbal concoctions he makes for me bi-weekly and I've never felt more balanced. He's amazing, and he knows his stuff. I trust in Chinese medicine over western medicine 1000% read more

Not to be mistaken for Jeffry Chan the one who left me bleeding and bait and switched his prices.

Jeffrey Chen attempted to treat my neck and upper back pain. The result is that after the treatment my pain went from a 5 to a 9 (on a scale of 1 - 10) and has not gotten better since the treatment (6 days ago.) I am now reverting back to Advil, a neck brace, and ice to get back to at least where I was with my level of pain before my visit with him. I have the feeling that I may have some nerve damage that was aggravated by the acupuncture. I called Chen today to thank him for trying to help me, but that I would not be returning because of the increased pain. And he became defensive and said that I said I was feeling better right after the treatment. I explained that immediately following the treatment may not have been the best time to ask. I explained that soon after I left the office the pain was worse and has not gotten better. The call ended there. read more

Dr. Chen is a skilled and thoughtful practitioner. He asks questions and listens to your answers. I have been seeing him for twenty years and he has helped me with a myriad of complaints that even kept me off antibiotics at times. Dr. Chen's attitude is positive and supportive always. He has been a big part of my recovery before and after two different surgeries I needed to under go. He has treated my family members, friends and even our Veterinarian who happens to be an acupuncturist as well. I feel blessed to have found Dr. Chen and feel safe and optimistic in his care. He could teach Western doctors a thing or two about dealing with an ailing body. His treatments are extremely effective. He is also funny, kind and patient. A lovely man with a real gift and passion for his calling in this field of medicine. read more

Initially I had wanted an appointment with Dr Yaoshen Cai since he had amazing yelp reviews but couldn't see him for 5 days since he was booked up. I'm so so glad I went to Dr Chen instead. My lower back was almost completely cured with one session with him. He gives personalized attention, explains everything to you in detail and is really kind. It was my first time getting acupuncture so I was very apprehensive - but he was so patient. Will definitely recommend going to him. I opened a yelp account to write a review about Dr Chen. He does incredible work. A friend recommended him to me in an emergency when I strangely threw my neck out for no apparent reason and within an hour had only 1 inch of mobility to my right. My friend told me she was recommended by a circle of professional dancers. This seemed promising and luckily he squeezed me in that day. I was in a very bad state when I arrived, needing assistance to simply sit down and get up, reach into my bag, take off my bag... I was in a lot of pain. After my appointment I could look all the way to my left and right in both directions and walk at a normal pace. It really was incredible. But maybe what was more helpful was that he knew the psychological origins for what seemed to me, a total fluke injury. He gently explained that this was actually an old injury, from acute emotional stress. I knew exactly what from. I was so impressed by the way he helped me, very to the point, but kind and with a funny humor about his effective nature, everything you want from a doctor really, and without skipping a beat when he sensed that I was momentarily reeling a bit from all this revealed information said, "Don't think too much about history. You're young and healthy. Think about good things in the future." Dr. Chen is really a Human Whisperer. I recommend everyone I know to him. read more
