Transiting from the Underground to the train platform is extremely easy. My only complaint is that there are very few seats for waiting. There is an AMT Coffee (they're everywhere!) and a few other shops for grabbing a quick sandwich to take on the trains.

Only opened in 1899, it is one of London's youngest mainline terminal stations. Beatles fans will recognize it as the opening location of their first film, A Hard Day's Night. Though much has changed since 1964, any true Beatles fan will enjoy imagining the Beatles running for a train with a mob of screaming birds in their wake. Walking the historic platforms, only recently expanded, I was overwhelmed with the everyday beauty and usefulness of a national transit system.

Although Bellingham's quite a run down area, the station's very clean and quiet, and delays, thankfully, are few and far between. I can only speak for trains heading into London as I don't use the station for journeys in the other direction. It takes just 20 minutes to get to Elephant and Castle, travelling via Catford, Crofton Park, Nunhead, Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill stations. Trains are very frequent up until 9:24am (between 9 and 15-minute intervals). After then, the trains are every half an hour. I've never noticed the station to be packed and am always able to get a seat for my journey. The only thing that lets the station down is the trains should be more frequent than very 30 mins.

Two stars my be harsh, but my reason behind it lays squarely with South Eastern trains. I would…read morenever normally get off at Lewisham (It's nothing against Lewisham, just that it's not my stop... There is one situation where a Lewisham stop is necessary... My trains been canceled (usually because a worm or the like has wriggled within 100m of a signal box/live rail) and there is no way for me to get home. Save from Lewisham and its sub-par overground service the DLR. When (not if) my train is cancelled, I have to get to Lewisham, either from DLR or on an unaffected overground train (if there are any). From here I grab the trusty, wiggly, unstable 89 bus all the way home. I have nothing against Lewisham, I just don;t like being there because of what's happened before. I'd love to give it more, I'm just too full of rage :(

Station quite small but very clean. Did not like gap though from platform to train that I had to step over it was huge largest gap ever.

I have not braved the toilets yet but know they have reduced hours due to some graffitti. The overbridge is also a little treachorous, with some of the stairs a little uneven. That said, it is fairly well lit when coming home and night, and as there tend to be a fair crowd of people getting of the train late into the evening I have never felt unsafe even when the station is unmanned.

the best thing about this train station early in the morning, particular in winter, is the coffee…read moreshop inside. always good to grab a cup of sometihng warm whilst you wait for the train. the platform is long, so its a good idea to trundle down the end of the platform if you want a seat - everyone and their aunt crams in the middle then you end up squashed! it has good access and parking, and has buses very close to it too. it has links into london and out to kent - including bluewater.

This station has been improving especially with the introduction of more ticket machines. These…read moredon't always work however especially when reading oyster cards. This station is however lethal in the snow especially for those with prams or using wheelchairs as they never grit the ramp which becomes a sheet of black ice to go skating down. At night the station is reasonably well lit however it is an open station so security is not the best. Some closures have been occuring on this line as they prepare for the longer trains so check journey planner in advance.

I love this station, since it's so close to my home! The only problem is that every day there's a…read morefresh pile (or two) of dog turd that show up on the stairs, across the bridge or along the pathway. Not TFL's fault, rather the anti social scum that hang out around the area with their dogs. One other thing is the lights - I think they've been out for a while! Walking across the bridge in the dark at night time is pretty hazardous, not only because of potential assault but also the chance on stepping on the dog mess that you can't see!
