If I could give a negative review I would. What horrible people. I ordered through their web page - they charged my card and said that it would be delivered in 30 minutes . I received an email stating that they had canceled the order an hour later. I called and asked what happened. They stated that the company they use canceled the order because the telephone number was wrong. I looked at the order which I still had on my computer and that is a big LIE. They were very rude when I called and hardly spoke English - I don't have a problem with that except that I had to repeat myself to three people before they understood. Can you imagine waiting for over an hour to be told that they canceled the order and will refund my card in a few days. What a ripoff- I will NEVER order from these people again. Considering that I lived in San Francisco for many, MANY years of my life, my expectation for Asian cuisine is pretty high and unfortunately Lee House did not meet that standard. The Dim Sum just lacked the flavor and authenticity I was hoping for...pork buns were dry, Shanghai dumplings weren't very soupy, and the fried rice was questionable to say the least. When I called to inquire about the rice, I was told "no, your meals do not come with rice". Wish I would have known. I would have ordered some rice for my 3 meals. Hi, I'm simply giving this a 2 stars out of 5 because of the customer service. this was my first time going to the Lee house to pick up food that i ordered on doordash for "pickup". so I went and the lady at the front counter asked me to see who the pickup was for, and I proceeded to say the name. This is when she told me I needed a driver to pick it up and i told her multiple times that it was a pickup order from doordash. She continued to fight back and forth with me, so I went outside to collect my thoughts and i went back in. I'll be more than fair here considering this is an Asian restaurant in a Tampa suburb. Huge menu, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese. Ordered the hot and sour soup and green shrimp curry for delivery. It took an easy 1 hour 40 minutes for it to arrive. The green curry was ok, it was more yellow and too thick, but like I said, it's a huge menu, so you have to give them leeway on something like that. The real issue here, apart from the delivery time was just how terrible the hot and sour soup was. I mean horrible. Big portions though and the delivery guy was nice and apologetic. This review only reflects my most current experience, which was take out. I ordered when I left work, and arrived about 35 minutes later. Was told "a few more minutes." 40 minutes later, I checked again, and then it was presented a couple of minutes later. It was obvious that my honey chicken had died in the window and likely had been sitting for a half hour or more. All of the sauce had been absorbed by the coating, which made it soggy and gross. My order was simple. One meal, one extra soup and two egg rolls. Why they let it sit forever, I do not know. My husband and I love dining in here. I LOVE Lee House!!! I have no idea why they are only 3 stars. Every time I have gone I have really enjoyed my meal. I always get dim sum and I usually get one of the Chinese entrees. If you come during lunchtime, the Chinese entrees are like $6 for a HUGE plate of meat, rice and either a soup or egg roll. You seriously cannot beat that deal!!! The dim sum is also pretty inexpensive. Between $3 and $5 per plate. My favorite, siu mai, is $3.15 for 4 of them. They're really delicious too!! Sadly, I had been going to Lee House for years. Since their original location on John Moore Rd to their current location on West Brandon Blvd. Never again will I return as a patron there. The staff used to be short-tempered but tolerable, now they're just rude and nasty to you. The once delicious food is now soggy and greasy with sub-par ingredients and poor quality. The restaurant looks filthy, as you pull around to the drive up window, DON'T LOOK IN THE KITCHEN DOORS! Unless you have a strong stomach. There are too many good and new Asian-style restaurants to choose from in Brandon now for me to want to ever return to Lee House. It's really too bad how far they've gone downhill. I'll truly miss the excellent place it once was to get dinner and dim sum. read more

I am new to the Brandon area and have up until going to the Lee House been very disappointed in the quality of the chinese food here. The Lee House changed all that. Avoid the buffet though, as most experienced diners will appreciate. That is out there for the 'mo food crowd. If you order off the menu expect excellently prepared dishes that are huge! I have been unable to find good egg foo yong, or Dim Sum until Lee's. And, nowhere will you find the whole or half peking style duck. Their's is excellent. I ask about Maine Lobster Cantonese and was told they would prepare it upon request and in advance. Can't wait. If you like good New York style Cantonese dishes this will not disappoint. I decided to get take out for the first time at Lee House. I ordered a Large combo Fried rice, crab rangoon and chicken wings. Portions were really enough to feed 4 of us a nice lunch. The food was hot and fresh and I really enjoyed it. It ran about $22.00 for everything. The ladies are very quick to take your order and get you in and out. As I was sitting there I heard a lot of call in orders. They seem to be pretty busy. The food here is good, but they have started charging an approximately 19.5% gratuity to the check without telling patrons. The only reason we found out about it was because we noticed the check had a line item called "G**" that we did not order. Stopped by here because we read reviews that they had decent dim sum and didn't feel like driving into Tampa. We only ordered about seven dim sum dishes, but for the most part they were pretty good. We also ordered and beef and garlic combination for lunch which was excellent. The fried rice was tasty and the beef with garlic sauce was flavored and had plenty of beef in it. Fall 2017 Update: They have resolved their shortage of service staff issues. Original 3 star review: I really have mixed feelings about this place. Some of the dishes are really good (e.g. house special fried rice, sometimes), and other times not so much. I would guess it has to do with which chef is working. The lunch specials are a really good value. The one really bad downside is that the servers are often really understaffed. There is often only one waiter or waitress running around like mad, while 2, 3, or 4 people are hanging around the kitchen or the cash register. read more

This was by far the WORST food we have ever had! Crab rangoons were actually empty, we received nothing but basically a deep fried won-ton. We actually threw away all the food we ordered due to poor quality of food. We ordered a won-ton-egg drop soup, not sure what we received....maybe hot water with some sort of green stuff floating around in it. This place has been the nearest and most real close to chinese food we can get just like back home. We used to dine here frequently but had a bad experience of having to wait for hours. We decided to give them a rest and didnt come back for a good of closely 2 months. Then we decided to come back to try it once again. Surprisingly, they still remember us and gave us a superb service. The interaction and service of Lucy ( one of the servers) came a long way of improvement from our last visit. The food is not bad at all! What I had was a good sampling of what genuine Hong Kong-style cooking is really like. So, A+ for authenticity. Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect. The place is kind of small, spartan and nestled in an unimpressive part of a larger commercial complex in an unimpressive part of town. The place looks like they do more take-out business than proper sit-down. The service was definitely less-than-polished, and, the owner or manager is quite cold and detached. I've been searching for Chinese food similar to what I'm used to in Chicago and this is about as close in quality and taste as I've come so far.
