If I could rate Lee Hill Peat less I would. I called and ordered 3.75 yards of planters mix a few weeks ago to be delivered to my green house a week ago. I was given a price that included a $100.00 delivery fee which I felt was worth it because I don't have a large truck and I needed the service. I was assured at the time that the driver was familiar with where I live and my location would not be a problem. I was also told that I would be called on the day of delivery by the driver before he left. I felt that I could give him specific directions on the phone and narrow a time so my husband could take off work and meet him. On the day of delivery, I spoke with the driver,Brad who assured me that he knew where to deliver the soil I ordered. Instead of listening to my directions Brad kept interrupting me and telling me he knew where to go. I assumed he delivered the dirt until my husband called me to say he didn't show up. So I called Lee Hill Peat. Yes, I had to call the company to find out what happened because Brad had no intention of CALLING me when he couldn't locate the our property. I had to call him after my husband waited for well over two hours for his arrival. Brad said he drove to the end of CR 87 and encountered a locked green gate and decided to leave. If he had driven to the end of 87 he would have found the large brown barn I told him would be there because that is where I last saw the barn, at the end of 87. I explained that we do not have a locked green gate at which point Brad became condescending and insisted that I gave him directions to the locked green gate even though he rattled off an address that doesn't exist and is not the address on the invoice. He assured me he knew where he was going and I must be wrong about where I live. Seriously? When I offered to leave work early and come into his office with a map, he stated that he had already driven up CR 87 and wasn't willing to deliver the soil to me. He had "wasted" enough of his time. Again, there is a $100.00 delivery fee and I live 14 miles away from Lee Hill Peat. Brad's attitude toward me was offensive and chauvinistic. From my first conversation with him he treated me like I was dumb and ignorant. I will, with no hesitation make Lee Hill Peat's business practices know to EVERYONE I know or come in contact with. I will post it to Facebook, twitter, Yelp and Angies list as well as any other forum I can find. I am not a difficult person but Brad treated me as if I was stupid for trying to make sure he had correct directions to our property, then had the audacity to treat me with disrespect. My business is not and never will be Lee Hill Peats. read more
