I had a flat tire on my car. I called a tire and battery company that we have used to service our car. They told me that I needed to get it towed in for them to look at the tire. The tire they sold me BTW. So I thought I would stay local and called Lee Hill Auto Service. Lee Hill Auto Service is right around the corner from my house. I had never gone there for service. After today, they will be my #1 place for my cars. They sent a person over who inflated the tire so I could drive it in. The tire was quickly fixed and I was charged much less than just the tow truck alone would have cost. Everyone I encountered were friendly and nice. If you can do business with a nice person, that is a bonus in my book. The office and waiting area was clean and bright. We will be back (hopefully not too often). read more

Overpriced and racist toward Black people I would not recommend for anyone of any race

This business is very questionable on honesty and reasonable pricing. Today I went to have my van inspected. I know that I drive the van very little so it really doesn't need any maintenance. However when you go for inspection things are noticed that you usually do not pay any attention to so you really dont know what to expect. I called Lee's Hill service station and asked were they doing inspection. The representative was very welcoming over the phone and said bring it on in. When we got there the wait was more time than average. After the inspection was complete the representative said he couldn't pass my vehicle because I needed 2 fog lights and the battery was not in correctly. He said all the repairs could be made for 210.00 . I politely told him no thanks and to go ahead and apply the rejection sticker. When he printed the rejection after I already paid, the rejection mentioned the head lights and battery problems but also included an "X" beside the column that says floor pan. I went in to ask the representative to correct it because it looks like my van has a really complicated issue that could lead to salvaging and also these reports are sent to the state police. He declined to fix it. I really should have stayed and called the police but I just didn't have the time. I mean really I understand the rejection for the battery and lights but this floor pan issue on the rejection should have been corrected. The representative totally insulted my intelligence because I know for a fact you cant check off things that are not wrong and tell the customer its fine. I feel in the future this will cause me problems. BE AWARE!!!!! read more

Worse place ever. They broke other things in my van to get more money. This place is a scam. DO NOT GO HERE! YOUR CAR WILL BE BROKEN MORE AND THEY WILL OVER CHARGE. All these 5 stars seem to be fake reviews. Look on other places they have 2.6. I wish I did more research. When I brought my family van here, it was running perfect. It just kept saying hot then cold in matter of seconds. They called me first saying easy fix and it be $250 then called back and said o no we found a lot more we need $1800. So we get the work done and now my car smokes, leak fluid, oil pressure goes up, and runs horrible. They tell us we need a PCM in the car which we brought back to get which was only suppose to be $1200. They called us back and said $6000 worth a work is needed and when my husband said for what I thought it needed a PCM, and the guy said oooooo yeah I think that would def work also. They are sooo full of it and I hope God handle these people and this place. I have 6 children and they did this to my family . Also the guy was trying to talk us into abandoning our van to them because of the so called so much work is needed. Yeah hell has a nice place for this place and the people in here. DO NOT GO! THEY DO NOT DESERVE A 1 star they should have -5. I have documents that they stated themselves we had no leaks when they tested our coolant system and now it's nothing but leaks since we got back and has a crack. ‍ What a joke. This place put my babies in harm just so they can have extra money. I wish I would have been patient. I only chose this place because they are right up the street from me and I wanted the small issue fixed with my children being in my car. To your reply to your response we never had high oil pressure in the car at all until you touched it or a crack no where or leaks. You stated the leaks your self in doc below. We brought our car back like 5 times to you and you never fixed nothing just more problems and when we came to get the pcm your company called back saying $6000 worth of work and when my husband mention the pcm you said ooo yeah that would work. Do you guys know about cars or just guess ‍ and you did not speak to my husband the first times it was me. I told you that the car keeps over heating in seconds and my husband just brought you the car. Now the second time he told you on his way home the oil pressure is going up and we never had that issue and you told him to return it which we did and he drives the car home again to park our car in our garage so we can look for another shop because you wanted so much for pcm , we notice fluid all in our garage which we never did before. My husband calls you to let you know and you guys said bring back again, now this time we decided to just go head get the pcm from you guys and that's when you said $6000 worth of work and when he said what about the pcm you said ooo yeah. Like make sense please. Your full of it and just lying but it's okay because God will handle you and your company . Hope you stay cool in hell. Also we never got pics. AGAIN GUYS DO NOT GO HERE!! FULL OF LIES & MONEY HUNGRY. Also I see a lot of bad reviews are by African American people or of colored. . Have a great day read more

George is an honest man who did all that he could to help us after Pohanka Honda Service ripped us off. A great man. A great business!

Unreliable service and scheduling. I am only giving them a 2 star review because I never actually had any work completed from them due to their inability to adhere to the schedule they gave me. I was quoted and scheduled to have my Cali Raised roof rack installed on my 4Runner. On three different days I was scheduled to have the work completed and showed up on the last two scheduled days (the first day they called to reschedule me prior to my arrival). Either way, they're was an excuse each day for the reason they couldn't complete the work we agreed upon (out a tech, too many other jobs, and down a tech on each occasion). I find it quite unprofessional to have me drive up to the shop which is 20 mins from my house just to have them turn me away each time. The last day I came, they couldn't even find me on the schedule, mind you the guy who couldn't find me was the guy who scheduled with me! Either way, sub par service, schedule and do business with them at your own risk. read more

Traveling from RI to FL and getting stuck on the road wasn't fun! Lee Hill Auto was recommended and we are so glad they were. The preordered parts for our conversion van, gave us a very accommodating appointment, and we're very friendly. The work was done in a great amount of time, the prices were very fair and everyone here is very professional and personable. Highly recommend! read more

Get estimates from your dealer or other independent auto repair services before agreeing to have Lee Hill Auto service do any work. I recently had my car towed to Lee Hill Auto service. Their oil change and state inspection service has always been done professionally and with courtesy. I was stunned when they said replacing my battery would cost $582! I called my car dealer and another indepent auto service and given estiimtes for checking the alternator and replacing the battery between $250-$300. I called a battery outlet on Route 3 and had my battery installed, and alternator checked (no charge) for a total of $188. I saved $400. Other typical charges for battery diagnostic service were quoted as $50-$100, the cost to be credited to the battery/diagnostic/installation. For checking my battery and alternator Lee Hill Charged $179. Get other estimates and save some money. read more

We needed a new radiator, told it would be $4,500.00 to fix. Took it elsewhere and paid $700

Should have shopped around... My wife's Jeep blew he radiator after 110K miles, on a Saturday, and my regular mechanic is closed on Saturdays so having seen ads for Lee's Hill in our HOA newsletter, I decided to have AAA tow it to them vs having it towed to my home and then having to have it towed again on Monday. BIG MISTAKE. After not hearing from them for a couple of hours I called and they gave me a quote of $2200 - I about fell out of my seat. They explained that the AC system in Jeep's is also integral to the cooling system so the freon had to be captured and then replaced; and that all the hoses should be changed, new anti-freeze, flushing the system, new thermostat and radiator cap, etc - more than usual - I balked at that price and said I would have to call them back, then suddenly the price dropped to $1850 and "we can do it today" - same work, $350 less - I thought about it and because they were a local advertiser in our community and seemed to have recently good reviews, I stupidly agreed and they did the work. Funny thing is that every part replaced they more than doubled the price - mark up is not unexpected but doubled? Labor charges were from the book I guess because they totaled up to 8 hours but the car was only worked on for about 5 hours (how do I know that? The dash cam recorded the entire time it was in the bay.) Not saying they did not do a good job - everything is fine and while I appreciate a good mechanic, this was exceedingly high. On Monday I called my regular mechanic, he quoted me "about $750" and when I told him about our experience, he was shocked and said "next time just have them tow it here, even on a weekend"); another mechanic up on Courthouse Rd said "$800-900." And the AAA shop on Rt 3 quoted me "about $900-1000". So three shops, all nearby, all quoted me basically about HALF what we paid. We won't be going back to Lee's Hill for any future repairs. I don't mind paying a fair price but this was shockingly high and I learned a valuable lesson at the age of 70 - do your due diligence and don't have a knee jerk reaction when it comes to auto repairs. read more

This is the most honest and straight forward service center I've used. There was a slight oil leakage mainly due to the components on my car and since they were last to service the vehicle they fixed everything the free. Just great people and I highly recommend. read more

When I went in for my annual inspection, I was advised that my 2018 RAV4 with 33k miles on it needed $900 worth of maintenance. Seemed fishy. I called back a week and a half later without the estimate in front of me. Dana told me I needed $1200 worth of maintenance. Seemed fishier. I told her I only had a budget of $600. She set me up for $840 worth of maintenance the next day. Still fishy. Talked to my mechanic friends and they all laughed. Most of the maintenance items were not recommended until 60k miles. I called the local Toyota dealer, they laughed. I read them a couple of the comments on the estimate. They laughed harder. I brought my car in to the dealer. Now, dealers have a bad rep, always looking to price gouge. The maintenance cost me $250. That's $1,000 cheaper than Lee Hill quoted me. I hope they didn't try and scam me because I'm a woman, but it's probably because I'm a woman. Don't do business with Lee Hill. read more

I was told that this was an honest place to do business. It is NOT. I took my vehicle in for a state inspection thought it would be $20. they said it needed some work on the bearings to pass inspection. It would be over $2500. Next year I waited to the last minute to get my inspection. I went back to them again a $20 inspection turned into over $2500 worth of work and for the third year in a row a $20 inspection was quoted at over $2000 in order to pass. a friend of mine heard about this and decided that they would just see what it would cost them for a 50k mile maintenance and without even seeing the vehicle they were quoted at over $4000 for recommended services!!! They took there car to the dealer and it was less than $100 for all services recommended by the manufacturer with no other issues on vehicle. shop around. They take advantage of people and overcharge for unnecessary work. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE unless you have money to throw away!!! read more

8:12AM - Peeps, this is the time I left this facility after dropping off my car for state inspection. Keep in mind they open at 8AM. 11:00AM - I call for a status update. They say I'm next in line. REALLY?! When I parked in the state inspection lane, there were only two cars ahead of me. Receptionist says she will call me (she probably hinted that I shouldn't call for status updates). 1:30PM - I finally get a call. She says it will take half an hour to replace two tires. 2:15PM - I am writing this on here to remind myself (and others) that I shall never come back here again. What kind of state inspection takes 3 hours just to be NEXT in line. And a whole 6+ hours total?!?! I'm still waiting for my car at this very moment!!!!!! I've owned a car in Virginia for 6 years and the state inspections have NEVER TAKEN THIS LONG. It's only the 26th and granted it's a Saturday, but I could go to the effin dealership to get faster service. Update - She called me at 2:35pm to tell me my car was ready but I was already half way there because I wanted to go in and stare at an employee until my car was ready. I decided to remain calm and ask if it was typical to take this long for a state inspection on a Saturday. She said no and said, "I do apologize." Although an apology was offered, I don't think it was sincere and I don't think she'd care if I ever went back. To the manager or owner: if I would have been told that it would take 6 hours for a state inspection, that would have been no problem. But instead I assume that because I had left my car there, your workers put other cars ahead of mine. I am never coming back here and after telling others on Facebook, one of my coworkers agreed that your business is shady and she never went back. Thanks but no thanks for your crappy service. Their sister business is 208 Tire & Auto Repair. I thought about having my husband get his state inspection there next month but no need to make the same mistake twice. It would be good to support local small businesses, but the dealership had never taken 6 hours for a state inspection. read more

Took my truck there for a safety inspection they failed it for numerous things saying that the windshield was bad the brakes were bad it had rust in the frame the ballast lights were illegal the hood is illegal etc etc etc needless to say the brakes are new there's no cracks in the windshield whatsoever not even a ding and the rust is right by the door which is a typical Chevy avalanche problem these people are out for nothing but money I wouldn't trust them with any of my vehicles and I will never go back there. read more

Boo! We took our truck here for an alignment - seems simple enough, right? When I spoke with them over the phone, they suggested that I "make an appointment" so they could take care of our vehicle quickly and so I wouldn't have to wait long. So, I did. I made an appointment to have my truck aligned at 11 am. They told me it would take an hour. I was delighted because I had 3 - yes, THREE - toddlers with me and waiting with them, no matter what the location, is heinous. To make a long story short, my day was horrific because of Lee Hill Auto's screw up. I had to call my mom to come pick us up. They'd promised me my vehicle at 12pm. By 3pm I was calling every hour to see if it was finished. The woman on the phone got progressively more nasty and rude with me each time I called. Finally, at 4pm, I gave up and drove 45 mins. home. Our truck wasn't finished until the next morning. Summary: horrible customer service, horrible auto service, and just plain horrible all around. Never again! read more

Lee Hill does excellent work and has wise and genuinely kind staff. Their repair work is superior. They've done great work on both of my household's vehicles (both older cars), offering detailed explanations of the repairs, what has to be done now, and what to look out for down the road. Their prices are reasonable, and they offer rides and loaner vehicles. They can give you great advice, too, and they're a pleasure to talk to. A friend of mine went in when the latch to her hood broke, and the mechanic rigged something up for free that's worked like a charm for at least two years now. It's not often that you find a business that honestly cares about its customers and takes pride in its work. Lee Hill is like that. I definitely recommend them. read more

This business likes to way over charge you for everything. I wouldn't get my car inspected here if they paid me to.

Morning Dana!!   This past Wednesday night I departed Fredericksburg for an overnight drive to Ft. Benning, GA by myself in the Suburban.  I returned on Sunday.  I just wanted to let you know that the truck ran fantastically!!  I was on the road by myself depending on my old vehicle to get me there and back safely.  Thank you for all the excellent work you have done on our Burb.  Please let George know.  We greatly appreciate all that you do for us as we are nursing our old truck along.  We always tell anyone who mentions vehicle maintenance that they need to go see you guys at Lee Hill.   I just felt like a special note was appropriate to let you know that I am so grateful for all you do for us.   Regards, Teresa read more

Lee Hill is a good shop and they do good work but it is time for the public to question their price gouging. I have been bringing my cars here for over 10 years and I have noticed an ever increasing markup on cost over the last couple of years. Every time I bring my car here now it is $2000+. I did some research on my last estimate and my parts were marked up between 80-100%. They were charging me $260 for a $130 A/C blower motor. They would charge me 4 hours for labor and have the car ready in half that time. I have decided to stop bringing my cars here after my last state inspection yielded close to $3000 worth of repairs. I would advise anyone to 1) look over your estimate carefully, 2) compare the prices of parts with auto parts stores (an 80% markup on a part is outrageous), 3) question everything, 4) if you can get a second opinion from another shop do so. read more

Service was not good. If I could I would give them zero stars. Walked in and immediately was told we couldn't be helped.

It irks me that Yelp will only keep Positive reviews if a business pays them to do so. Lee Hill Auto is a excellent Auto Repair business. They have done several repairs on our car and never disappoint. They are rated 4.5-5.0 out of 5 STARS everywhere but Yelp, that is saying something. I will no longer use Yelp for their rating when deciding the business I will use, it isn't fair or honest to expect companies to pay for longevity on positive reviews. November 2018: (Posted this on Facebook, but wanted to share it here as well) I am astounded and overwhelmed by the kindness of the employees & owner of Lee Hill Auto Service. They go far and above what anyone could ever ask of their mechanic. They have worked on our Infiniti before & we have another repair that needs to do be done right now. They are very quick, (able to take the car apart, fix it, put it back together in less than 48 hours!) willing to work with us on the cost of the repair, & provide another means of transportation while we are waiting for our car to be fixed. Who does that?!?!? Lee Hill Auto does!!! If you need something as small as an oil change or state inspection or as big as a radiator replacement, Lee Hill Auto should be the FIRST place you call. You won't find anywhere better than Lee Hill. Their quality of work & ability to empathize & service their customers is far superior than anywhere else I can think of! Give them a call: +1 (540) 834-0625!! August 2018: (Also posted on Facebook) I highly recommend Lee Hill Auto Service! There are many reasons why, but I am reviewing them now because we had our Infiniti repaired there and we picked it up today. They are so fast...once our warranty approved the quote, they had our car fixed and ready to go in less than 24 hours! The price wasn't bad, but the service and quality of work were superb! They provide a 2 year warranty on the part to top it all off! They do great work and they stand behind it, it's hard to find a mechanic to do that these days. I am so ecstatic to have my Birthday Present back & in great condition! Thank you Lee Hill, for taking good care of us from start to finish! Thank you Jeff for being so kind, honest, and helpful any time my Husband or I called with questions or concerns. We will be lifetime customers, I can't imagine letting anyone else work on our cars. They may not be the cheapest mechanic in town but the little extra they did cost was worth every single penny! Thank you Jeff, George, and Lee Hill staff for your honesty, quality work, and superior customer service! read more

Boy do I wish I had read this Yelp page instead of trusting the well-meaning recommendation of a family member. I was visiting the area from out of town when my car became un-driveable and needed repairs. After $1,500 of work the problem reappeared within a week. My trusted mechanic back home reviewed the invoice and pointed to over a $1000 of the work that was completely unnecessary. I called to get an explanation, was told the mechanic who handled the repairs would call me back and, surprise, they never responded to my inquiry. In the end it appears to me they google'd/YouTube'd the issue and fixed what internet pundits claim is the 'most likely' cause of the symptoms without truly diagnosing the underlying issue before slapping on parts at my expense. This was a very disappointing experience and I would recommend you find another shop for service...do NOT rely on this establishment as they do NOT have their customer's best interests at heart. read more

I went to Lee Hill Auto Service because I was hearing a scraping sound when I braked. They said my brakes were perfectly fine and that they couldn't find the cause of the scraping sound. They said it was probably just dust in the brakes and suggested I get 4 new tires installed and an alignment for $800. I declined to get the tires and alignment and they charged me $60 to look at the brakes. The scraping sound got worse so I took it to Pal Used Tire and Auto Service on Filter Ln. They showed me my brakes and that the pads had worn down into the rotors. They checked my brakes, and installed new brakes and rotors within an hour and at a very affordable cost. I feel like Lee Hill Auto Service charged me to look at my brakes but didn't even look at them really. I am very disappointed in their service. read more
