1000.00 to replace a starter. In a hyndai sonata, you guys are garbage it took me 45 mins to replace it myself and the part was only 198.00 online. You guys mark up your parts although you get them from autozone or advance. I checked so let me guess 500.00 for the part and 500.00 for the labor will take about 6hrs to install? Carroll's Automotive has been taking care of my automotive needs for our four cars for over 15 years. While we worked at Dahlgren, my wife and I just dropped off the cars in the morning, and were always able to pick them up at the end of the work day. With prior arrangements, Carroll's can provide transportation to and from your workplace if you work on the base (maybe off-base as well). The services on our vehicles has always been excellent. If ANYTHING is wrong with the service, Patrick and Brian will make it right immediately. They care about cost and quality. They will work with you. Even though I am now retired and live in Spotsylvania , I still drive to Dahlgren to have my auto services done at Carroll's. Became aware suddenly that I needed to get a Virginia inspection done on a new car I purchased in Maryland. I was given the name of this business by the officer that informed me I needed this inspection and I called to make an appointment for this morning. He said they started on inspections around 8:30 and it'd probably be around an hour and a half.. Got there around 8:45, they took my car back at 9:17 it came out at 9:27 and I was gone at 9:30! Doesn't get much better than that. I was very pleased especially since they had several people already there and then at least 4 more people came in just in the short time I waited. Will keep this place in mind for future needs.. read more

Pretty solid auto repair shop. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive. All in all they get the job done. I didn't give five stars cause I have found with difficult, non-routine issues they struggled to fix these. So for routine maintenance I use pretty exclusively. For tough troubleshooting, good place to start but might want to get a second opinion too. read more

Be careful what you ask for, or didn't ask for first. My wife got a $99 oil change yesterday. Yup, $99 for just an oil change. Well, to be fair, it was only $98.74. She did say they were friendly and helpful, even offered a "loaner" because it was going to be a few hours. But, $99 for an oil change? That's more than two times what I'm accustomed to paying at the dealership where I normally have it serviced. read more

DON NOT GO HERE. I REPEAT!DO NOT GO HERE THIS IS YOUR TYPICAL LOW BUDGET RUN OF THE MILL AUTOSHOP IN A TINY TOWN. This is waste of your money. Currently I serve in the military and here on orders for school. I have VA plates and needed to get my registration done on my 2008 BMW with 60k miles. History ( My car was in a minor fender bender where BMW had to repair it 3 months before and of course through the dealer did the normal diagnostics, telling what your car needed, I needed a brake sensor). I dropped my car off around 6 am and went to pick it up at noon, when I walk I find all my windows rolled down in the day time with no one watching it... and A big fat rejection sticker on it. Though there is nothing wrong with it being rejected, but most legit auto shop s will call you first, and ask you would you like to get it fixed before issuing a rejection sticker (i.e. trying to make money) When I walk in the Manager greets me and says I failed how would you like to pay. As I look into why I failed he issues 5 things LED headlight, back 2 tires and 2 foward rotar and brake pads. I almost laughed because I knew what this was. I bought my tires less than a year ago, and have nothing but traction on it. Moreover, when i told the manager I just came from the BMW dealer, there issued nothing to concern with my brakes. The manager then tells me he can see that I need new brake and rotars from the outside. The autoshop could not take my wheels off to verify because I have a wheel lock . So how could they actually know???? Beats me. Anyway I knew what it was and paid the 16 dollars and rode to Richmond the same day to get a state inspection and guess what.. PASS WITHIN 30 MINUTES! The guys laughed to at why they failed me. They even showed a pretty picture of how my axel was bent (again BMW dealer 3 months ago!). ' If your in the MILITARY STAY FAR AWAY! and I am sure the people of the small down pretty much know to stay away from here. read more
