Welcome to HERMOSA BEACH... Lighting Zone (new address: 530 Cypress Av.)!…read more At the beginning of our kitchen remodel, in Jan of this year, I walked into owner Sid Marshal's shop baffled as to which lights to purchase. In addition to squaring me away, he provided a "whole light set up" so I could take it back to our Hermosa home and see how the lights looked in our space. I asked if he wanted a deposit or my information and he just said to bring the lights back when we were done and we shook hands as gentleman. I completely respect owners who run their businesses in this fashion! Months later, our electrical contractor made an incorrect decision regarding our recessed lighting installation, and there was Sid again, providing more solutions... Welcome Sid, and his brother Mak to Hermosa Beach...indeed!

We were able to park pretty close this time around, and it was not too hard to get around by foot. The sidewalks seem to have somehow gotten smaller than what I remembered and it was muddy after rain, so it's a bit difficult as a big group going through (we had a group of 6). Most houses had their lights up and running. Part of the magic in my memory of visiting this area in previous years was seeing people hanging out in their driveways and on their porches, with some selling/giving away refreshments. Not a lot of that tonight, probably due to it being close to Christmas already. Otherwise, the people that we did meet and pass by were very friendly! Otherwise, a good variety of decorations and houses to look at! Seems like there are more houses than usual with their lights off, probably because they were out of town, but it would have been nice to leave it on a timer for the rest of us still in town. But at the zero cost to us to view? I can't complain too much-- always a nice time here in Sleepy Hollow.

[Parking]: Easy and free designated parking lot just for Lamps Plus. [Experience]: They have every lamps that you can possibly think of - table lamps, chandeliers, ceiling fans/lights, floor lamps, etc. The shop has an eye-popping selection of different lamps and I appreciate how I was able to actually touch and see lamps in person vs shopping lamps on the internet. [Ordering]: I ultimately saw one floor lamp (Barnes and Ivy Forrest Sequoia Tree 61" Wicker Shade Rustic Floor Lamp - $249.99) and two table lamps (360 Lighting Fraiser 23 1/2" High Tapered Faux Wood Modern Table Lamp - $54.99) that I really like. I ended up placing an online order because I was able to receive 10% off by joining Lamps Plus email list (check the website for the current email sign-up discount for new customers). Shipment was quick as I received the packages in approximately 2 days. [Conclusion]: If you are in a market for any stylish lamps, then Lamp Plus has an incredible selection. Their lamps are somewhat expensive, but you get what you pay for. P.S. - For light bulbs, I ended up buying them at Home Depots.
